I think the new jetpack is inspired by the one you can see in the expanded universe and the one the clone marines where (not the galactic marine,i am talking about the imperial zero-g trooper counterpart you can see theme in a clone wars episode boarding a ship whit saesee tiin). it is like a mix of the two.

I love how he's got what essentially are the Marvel movie toy leg joints(a ball hinge-joint with a thigh swivel) but the lack of ankles disappoints me. Think it might be possible to kitbash him and replace his legs from the knee down with those of a previous Rex with ankles?

ha! Look at the size of that jet pack! Tis huge...he doesn't need a ship he's carrying half of the republic on his back!

However that face sculpt is pretty wicked...and i love the main design...but off with the jet pack!

Not sure if anybody has already mentioned this, but the neck is also a new style, is it not? It has the actual look of the clothing under the armor. Just wanted to point this out, because maybe you forgot to mention it, or you didnt know, but it wasnt included in the review. All in all, I am very pleased with this review, and figure. Nice review Steve, good points and bad points on what could and should have been a first rate Captain Rex figure. Still I do like the smaller jet pack.

i was really looking forward to this figure and now that i have it in hand it kind of bothers me how huge the upper part of his legs look if you dont make him wear the jetpack on the other hand i like the use of the new headsculpt and pauldron but not a big fan of the soft goods kama a nice rex but no the best im sure well get another one
