I think my tmj began when I began pushing my lower teeth back becuse they were out of alignment and grinding my upper teeth. This shoved my lower jaw backwards and eventually moved the teeth out of the way but now I have clicking and severe tinnitus. Maybe, these exercises will help to restore my jaw and stenghten the muscles. Thanks for posting this video.
@PapaRuka215 He mentions it in the video. When he says "Once around", he means hold each point of the cross for a count of "One, Two, Three, Four". It'll be less than a minute.
Definitely looking forward to testing this exercise. I'm not sure what has caused my TMJ to flare up the way that it has, but it has been extremely painful for a couple days. Thank You!
please help me im 16.5 and my jaw feels SO uncomfortable at times, its so freaky that i cant relax it its just a constant uncomfrotable feeling as if its out of place PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS NOT PAINFUL JUST REALLY REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE AND ANNOYING PLEASE!!! il do anything if you help me my life is shit enough i notice it mainly at night 8pm+
Thank you so much! I've been having trouble eating any solids lately as my jaw simply clicks each bite. This action of pushing against the jaw and providing resistance has really build the muscle and made my life so much easier!
@simon3102000 I think that it is possible because temporomandibular joint is so close to the ear, and your balance center is in your ear actually. So maybe this pressing creates some pressure in the ear too.
my jaw wasn't hurting - just clicking and popping... but it has been like that for months. this exercise stopped it in a matter of seconds. thank you so much!
i started this about a week or two ago and this is a miracle!! bless you!! i am so grateful for this info instead of ppl dicking us around you guys get to the point, imma see if it is 100% complete fixed in a month or two and reply, i miss yawing like a lion. Bless you again kind sir!!
My jaw locks the most when I sleep on the left side of my face. But when I wake up and wiggle it around one or two times it pops right back in with a pretty big noise. Is it bad?
Thank you for sharing these exercises. They are simple, make sense and feel that they are doing good. Are you able to re-upload with higher volume? It is very quiet.
I was ignored for nearly ten years too! I'd bring it up at routine cleanings and they'd brush me off. When my jaw started locking in addition to clicking and popping I sought out help elsewhere and landed a very helpful and informed dentist. I have a nightguard now (because in the past two years I started teeth grinding too) and I'm glad I did - the new dentist says left untreated it could develop into arthritis of the jaw, can you imagine?
@awshop1995 i have same problem , what i noticed is that if i sleep with my jaw on a pillow everything is OK , but if i somehow put my head in a way that my lower jaw slightly hangs to the side i get that lock up.
@Chhooppyy same here. the part that really bothers me is that i went to the dentist and different doctors about it and one said that it was like when your knee goes out, there is nothing that can be done but it will eventually go back into place
@awshop1995 well it seems there is not much to do , but try exercise. When you have a lock up there are 2 solutions that i came up with 1.protrude your jaw forward and move it to the side which is locked up 2.open your mouth as much as you can without forcing it , apply slight pressure with fingers on a jaw joints and force your mouth to open by little.Open and close your mouth , every time you open extend your jaw a little more.
@Chhooppyy thanks. my jaw doesne really hurt all that bad though (thank God) but what is weird is that me and my brother have the same problem in the same jaw with the same symtoms
Thanks so much. I've been taking 3 ibuprofen for 3 weeks now, plus hot wash cloths/compresses. I've tried ice packs too, but this feels like actual relief - not just masking the pain. Namaste!
That's crazy. I just did this after having pain in my jaw for the past 3 days whenever I would chew or open too wide. I tried this just now and it helped a lot. There is still pain, but I'm sure after a few days of doing this it'll disappear.
When I open my mouth, my jaw makes the clicking sound. This happens only when I open my mouth. Sometimes when I close my mouth, I can hear this very faint slipping noise, which I guess means that my jaw moved back to its original position before I opened my mouth. But most of the time, there is no slipping noise.
I can open up to 3 fingers wide (middle, ring, and pinky fingers), no wider.
Is my situation a sign of TMJ? I'm only 16 years old, and I have somewhat crooked and crowded teeth. Wh
I will follow your instruction as a prophylactic treatment for my early symptoms of TMJ. Are you insured should I sustain any permanent damage from your recommendations? ;-o
I have a pain in my right jaw, when I open my mouth. I did these exercises, and it helped me about 75%, just like the poster below. Does this mean that I have TMJ? Or could it be something else?
It is amazing this excercise, so simple so usefull. It allowed me to free my temporomandibular joint a little and gave confort enough to trust and try more of this. Thanks a lot

Will this cure the asymmetry that comes from it?
Or is that caused by a moved jaw because of tmj?

Thanks for this video. I've had problems with the muscles around my jaw joints (especially left side) since Bilateral Mandibular Osteotomy last fall.
Was given these exercises with written instructions, but now I realize I've been doing them incorrectly. Thankfully only for a week though.

My dentist refuses to acknowledge that anything is wrong. He will forget I said anything moments after I said it. Fuck dentists.
