@midwesternoutdoors get a honda 420 rancher or a 500 forman the rincon are bullshit unless you put a bunch of aftermarket shit on them your best bet is probably the 420 though
@waterfowlhunter20 My dad friend hax a 02 honde foreman 500. he used it for 7 years without any problems. besides oilchangings he check 15 sprinklers a day for 7 years with out a malfuntion. this is over 340 days a year. when the quad finally gave out it had 11000 miles on it.
@midwesternoutdoors really if your are not going to be tearing it up and want it to be a good ride you can buy a polaris 550 with eps and 500-1500 miles for around 5 grand and that would do better than the honda since you are not working on the atv
@midwesternoutdoors I'd say Grizzly, because it has more features. Such as a front locking differential and a low range, plus more storage space. Either one is a good ATV, but the Grizzly is my preference..
I will note that several times I have meet Honda riders that have problems with there auto/manual shift and that is a problem on the trail. Also it's been proven by the ATV industry that Yamaha has the best/toughest drive train system in the industry.
I agree that Yamaha is a better all around machine and more dependable. If you want power then go with Polaris, Kawasaki, Can Am, or Arctic Cat. All the ATV's on the market including Yamaha have their strengths and weakness so it depends on what your going to do with your ATV. Yamaha is the best on the trail and worst in the mud. I'm not saying other don't have there strengths over Yamaha on the trail because they do I know that my Grizzly tips easily (shorter wheelbase). I could go on.
To the guy nut swinging Honda, I would rather have a belt drive that is just as reliable and a true 4 wheel drive with diff lock than a Honda 3 wheel drive quad. The Yamaha has more ground clearance as well.
@rocketstreet I dunno about that. I had an '07 BF 750, and had trouble with it. Finally ended up seizing a rod bearing.
In contrast, I've never had a problem with my Grizzly 550. Plus, the ride and handling are better.
I will say the BF 750 IS much improved over the old design though.
Did you notice the BF's tires quit spinning and smoke came out of it? That's probably from the CVT belt. Yamaha is known as having the best belt drive CVTs.
@WKHalford actually he had it in high and not low. I pulled a jeep with my brute force and i have 28'' zillas and stock clutching i had it in 4x4 low and me and my friends cherokee tied up i pulled him a little bit and my belt didnt smoke cause i had it in low..
@kx85kid12 I know the BF has low range and a locker. I owned a '07 BF 750.
How do you know the guy in the vid had it in high?
Regardless, the Yamaha's CVT is a better design because it has a seperate wet clutch with a one-way sprag clutch. The BF doesn't. So there's much MUCH less chance of the Yamaha smoking the belt. And the Yamaha doesn't need the computer controlled KEBC stepper motor for engine braking.
The BF's CVT is inferior, and with the KEBC, it's more complicated
@kx85kid12 Because the BF clutches by squeezing the drive pulley to the belt, it causes a bit of slippage and extra wear just as the machine starts to move. That's why it's recommended that low range be used for towing, hauling heavy loads, and for slow speeds where the drive pulley will be engaging/disengaging a lot.
With the Yamaha's seperate wet clutch, low range isn't needed as much. The wet clutch does the slipping, and oil cools the clutch, for longer clutch/belt life.
@CountryBoy7227 "Honda sucks butt"? Oh really?. Niether of these two belt driven junkers could even pull the other piece of junk three feet. Smell that burned belt? I do. Talk to me in ten years and we'll see if either of these garbage cans are still in the hunting camp. They will most likely be in the "for sale" ads or mechanic shop. You don't buy a Honda for today, you buy it for a decade from now. Other atv's can suck Honda's direct drive shaft. Now let's move on.
@GLOCKCOPG23 Dude chill out its just a couple of buddies getting together and having sum fun...turns out the belt was on backwards on the brute and thats why it smoked at the end, not sure how it was on backwards but it was lol...... Ya honda is good i agree but yamaha and kawasaki put out some nice rides and fast. honda jus jumped the gun on driveshaft and im sure other companies will eventually....kinda like how honda produced a crf150r race bike and other companies stil use 2 strokes
@huttoerik28 Dude, I'm not "all worked up" or anything. Man, this is youtube not the stockmarket. I'm just saying the facts here, brother. I hope everybody else catches up too and loses the belt drives so everyone is on the same playing field. Until then, Honda owns it. I agree that the other machines are nice but it takes more than "nice" to bring you back home. Rubber on steel will never be as durable/reliable as steel on steel. That's just physics. Ask Isaac Newton. It's his 27th law :)
Ouch! for the Brute. I don't have allot of experience with other ATV's but do know that is One strong point of Hondas. have an old '99 450ES with mudlites from day One and pull on crap all the time. Still has the same drive train. But I'm sure I'd get walked all over in a race though
The Brute may have 50cc's more on the Grizzly, but there is one thing that is for sure, the Grizzly is a way more reliable bike, hands down. I love my 700. Rides better and they have one of the best seats in the world. Everybody has there own opinion though.
@LovingGlocks I like Grizzlys myself also. But on my Brute i've got 11k miles, almost 12. I ride about 100 miles on a weekend, and almost every day during the week, and I also drag a groomer for snowmobile and cross country ski trails in the winter. I got it new in 2005. Regular maintnece, a few quite a few sets of tires, and an engine rebuild around 4k miles. She gets up and goes like brand new. And I ride hard, like a typicall teenager. lol
@huttoerik28 oooh. Dang I didn't know if you were pulling in High that it might screw the belt up. I pull in high with mine all the time... Mentally noted. thanks. haha.
@baseballplaya8 My uncle told me the belt was on backwards...he got a new one and its is on RIGHT this time lol so we will give this battle another try!
Do you no that it ruins the trans. on the quads, thats stupid to try to see which one has better pulling power.
