@jcost0099 I don't have a GoPro camera but they look like they would do the trick. I just used a digital camera on video mode, and used some tape to keep the blast of wind from knocking it over. As long as the camera does not stick up above rail level you should be fine. Thanks for the comment.
Might be cool to watch, but very dangerous to make. It is easy to make a mis-step and fall or get caught by the rails. It takes a train about 1/4 to 1/2 mile to stop and anyone in the way will be either horribly maimed or killed. No video is worth endangering your life. Stay safe by staying away from the rails.
i totally agree with this but if you live by the tracks and you know the train goes by at 1pm every day or something and you put the camera out there at 12:30 with a friend who could call for help and you let it record for 30 min before the train comes it greatly reduces the risk of accident.
I wonder why the driver gave a massive blast on the horn just before the train goes over the camera? Were you guys hanging around the track or something?
Interesting that they're using a K5LA on that GO train. I thought Canadian regulation called for a K3H, K5H, or something with that chord... They changed the regulation, maybe?
Cool shot! I also have some cool shots of a camera under trains. Please take a look on my user name "grignosse". You'll prob put it in your favorites; Please comment, you won't be disapointed...
Quit playin around rr tracks!

I wish that they would have pulled the plug on the sewer. Your camera would have had a lot of fun with that. You more.

My son LOVES this video! Did you use a "GoPro" camera? We have one and I am wanting to do the same thing (on the rail viewpoint).

I believe all the cabs in their fleet is K5LA for the most part. Some of the locomotives have different horns.
