this is so cute and i love luka and abby together, but abby full of hope? when, she was probably the most depressing character ever on er, and i don't mean that as a knock on her

I agree, she was never really full of hope in the sense that I think of as hopeful -- which is sort of tied to cheeriness and perkiness. (And as Abby said to Sam, she doesn't like rah rah.)

Abby's a realist. Pragmatic and a fighter, but not exactly full of hope. She won't give up, and she does hope things will change, but won't go overboard and wind up surprised and/or devastated when the outcome is less than rosy. She'll just deal with it.

Even her mom noted optimism wasn't her strong suit.

I know!!!!!! I'm holding out hope that we'll get one last glimpse of them in the very final ER episode....but...I don't think it'll happen. GAAHH ER is ending :'(

I know it's really weird to think of it not being on anymore.. It's been on for a long time! I wish they'd be on it in the final but yeah it's doubtful. I'll still hope tho b/c they were two of my faves :)
