  • what brand is that guitar, looking for a nice one for noe.

  • @FeWolf Hi, this is a Takoma Thunderchief, cheers!

  • I think you should call this an acoustic bass guitar not acoustic bass. I just saw a classical acoustic bass guitar and it sounds a lot better acoustically. It's a lot bigger and has an end pin like a cello or string bass. I think those would be better to record without a pick-up. This (smaller) bass guitars sound too much like a shoe box with strings. The frequency range is too small. Then if you use the pick-up they really sound like shit!!! Too much string/fret noise and too much midrange.

  • @eliseoborrero

Saludos.

  • Yes, it looks like acoustic bass is as different from electric bass as acoustic guitar is from electric guitar - it inspires a different approach. There is more detail in the touch.

  • I really like this!

  • Steve Swallow :D

  • @Vaksel Yeah!

  • Fantastic sound for an acoustic bass! And very improvisation. Top!

  • Hi, Do you use this bass on jazz gigs? Great Playing!

  • Awesome playing! I love the tone in your bass :) What kind of guitar is it?

  • it's a tacoma. badass bass. I wish I could afford one. They run over 1000 anywhere I look.

  • Hi, thank you for comment. This is a Takoma Tunderchief BC105C, and it did costs about 1100 $ in NYC.

  • Is it only in new york you can get one of these babies?

  • Lovely, really well played, very soft and flowing which is lovely, makes me think of Spain for some reason, good thing though, better wheather there lol, Nice job :)

  • Very melodic and soothing. Sweet.

  • Very nice and refreshing to not hear any slap in a bass solo for once!! Great playing! It sounds really nice.

  • Yeah man, I love this feedback. Actually I don't know play slap. :D

  • Nicely played.

  • Nicely played.

  • Very nice indeed!

  • beautiful!

  • It is wunderful. I like the Sound of the ABG´s, too!

  • Very well done.

I also like your sound stuff. =)

  • Great playing, Very warm

  • good mic

  • yeah, agree, the sound is so gentle and warm.

and your playing is also very nice!

  • Hmm, I love the sound of an ABG. =)

I am thinking of buying one. Do you recommend anything? What should I take notice of?

    Peace.

  • Hi man, I think a good recomendation could be to understand the acoustic sound is a diferent thing from the plugged sound; so when testing an EAB at the store you should like the acoustic sound -who makes you feel happy to play at home- and like the plugged one, this is the sound you will use for playing with friends. And for that one, I recomend try close to amplifier and 4-5 meters from it.

  • I like to play with acoustic alike sound and that is why I use this mic, but there are important diferences between both, and bassplayers should know all those things and use them. (apologize my english)

  • wait my bad i ment summertime

  • ooooh nice arrangement of autumn leaves

  • beautiful.. tabs please

  • Amigo Gaspar, eres un monstruo. ¿Tocamos pronto? Abrazos.

  • ¿Qué te gustaría hacer? ¿dúo, trío, multitud?

  • beautiful

    pure excellence

  • il basso acustico è lo stumento + bello del mondo

  • traduco... the acoustic bass is a beatiful instrument!

  • are this flat wound strings?

  • Hi, this are roundwound

  • Hi,

    your playing is very nice!

I have the same bass and I love the acoustic sound too.

What kind of strings are you using ( who is

    the manufacturer?)

    Thanks, Paul

  • Hi, Paul, thank you. These are GHS regular strings for regular electric bass, E-A-D-G and the C is GHS from guitar set, the 030 one. They recommend bronze strings but there are no EADGC sets. Then it is nice to play alone but it has not enough volume to play unplugged when playing with someone else.

  • shud i get acoustic or electric bass...wut u think of acoustic? and good vid btw

  • acoustic! i just got a fender bg-31, and it's amazing! i love that i don't always have to plug in now, and so do my neighbors! rock on

  • Well what can i say......well done!! a beatifull version of a Gershwin Jazz masterpiece!!!

  • Wow Good Playing good sound good solo video,I'm ready for more.Really like your playing,Cool.....

  • Wonderful sound, almost like an upright (though doesn't have quite as much as the low end).

Does it sound basically the same when unamplified?

  • do you mean compairing stand up bass and acoutic or amplified and unamplified?

  • uh hehe i don't mean to say that i'm anywhere near good enough to play it just in the future i'd love to be able to play music like this =D

  • wow incredible, hey what kind of music would this be considered that you're playing, I'm starting bass and I'd like to play music like this

  • Beautiful man

  • wow.. well done man.. five stars.. :) God bless

  • damn sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is the label of your bass? Please.

  • I believe this is a Tacome CB10C Thunderchief.

Costs about 1000 EUR in Germany. That is why I bought the chinese made licensed copy for a quarter of the price: OB3CE from Olymbia by Tacoma. Check out my videos.

  • Oh, it is the 5-string version

  • Coming from a veteran player of acoustic, a/e and electric bass, I'm quite impressed. How long have you been playing?

  • I love this video. I think I'll ask my parents for an acoustic bass for my b-day... They sound so sweet, especially this Tacoma with your amazing skills! Very nice video!

  • Wow, I adore youtube, it makes posible this kind of nice feedbaks...

  • Wow!!!Well done...beautiful sound!!!

  • Hi, nice message, thank you

  • wow, i've never seen a five string acoustic bass. thats really cool. do you know if they make six string acoustic bass's?

  • I don't thing so. The only 6 string bass guitar I've seen is the 'guitarron', the mexican bass.

  • they have 6 string acoustics on ebay sometimes theyre from a really shady company though

  • What I wonder is if they sell 6string acoustic fretlesses anywhere. That doesnt seem like a safe thing to own.

  • yea the ones i saw were fretless, steve bailey plays an acoustic fretless 6 sometimes

  • Oh...

Well you know, Bailey can play, but he's not really my cup of tea.

  • Exactly what guitar is this? a Tacoma what?

  • Thunderchief CB105C, tuned E-A-D-G-C

  • Wow, this was great. i loved it. nice to see other acoustic bass guitarist on here! A+

  • wow.. do you have tabs for this?

  • Nice comment! Sorry, I don't have tabs...maybe there are a pair of writtable ideas: a vamp for beguin, the final thing; the rest are improvisation around the standard form...

  • allright! i'm going to practice hard ^^

  • thats excellent! beautiful to hear a bass eqiuvalent to all the guitar-versions that are around..

  • Is a fretted one

  • Is that a fretless bass?

  • Thank you for comments!

Now my Tacoma does sounds this way, well, i had to made some arrangements on it, the piezo installation was bad (apologize my english, hope understand). At the video, the sound is a mix from line and a microphone -a good one-.

    Jordi

  • Good improv and I like how your Tacoma sounds. How are you amplifying it? Do is it sound good acoustically?

  • Not bad mate, really good rhythmic ideas

  • nice tacoma!

  • Yes, it s

  • s ur bass a tacoma?

  • fantastico! Great playing!

  • Ets una bèstia parda!! Molts petons,

    Joan

  • Hombre,

me gusta mucho el sueno del tuyo Tacoma y como tu lo tocas! Tiengo un Tacoma tambien: quales "strings" y qual "microphone" estas usando?

    Fantastico! Me gusta mucho!!

    Marco (Italia)
