The simulation in this game is insane, I had a first line of Ovechkin (99), Crosby (96), and Perry (92), with Quick (92) as the goalie and couldn't make the playoffs, despite how everyone on the first line had over 40 goals and 100 points.

It actually might have something to do with the goaltender. I did a sim and had tuuka rask in net. He was a 91 overall. Every year we struggled with consistency. In year 5 my goalie I drafted in year 1 was an 86 overall and ready to take over the starter position. Once he was in I posted a 50 win season in his rookie year! I'm telling ya. For some reason the goaltender changes a lot

Giroux is a natural right winger. He was drafted as a right winger and often plays the right wing. With his low faceoff percentage he is better off on the wing anyways. Move him to the right wing and get a first line left winger and you will be all set.

Grigorenko Is a good player for sure but he isn't ready for the first line spot yet cause he is only mid 80's in offense if you want your first line to produce goals your gonna want to get like you said a player that's probably 88 OVR with 90's in his shots because Giroux and Getzlaf are playmakers they need to be able to pass to someone who can put the puck in the net you have Kessel that can clearly do that so I say switch Kessel to the first and put Gregorenko back in the minors for one year

I think u gotta put Kessel on the first line. Try it for five games and if it doesn't work always switch him out. Then, u need another solid TWF on the second line or something. Patrice Bergeron is an 87-88 OVR center who could easily play wing. He's probably about 30 in your GM Mode now. Take a look and if it doesn't work, you always have one of the best All-Around players in the NHL in Bergeron in your lineup
