Hi guys at mighty car mods.iv got a 90 GTi-R.with an external waist gate an boost controler.wundering if can connect quod throttle bodys bov vac that goes to the bov an run my external waist gate line that connects to the boost controler an run that to the same line to the quod throttle body vac line to the bov?.a genuine reply would be much help cheers Bullet2380
you guys are pretty good maybe a little more indepth for the not so car saavy. My question is ive heard that taking a factory blow off valve off and replacing it with a aftermarket blow off valve increases power but harms your turbo. Also someone told me you mus tchange turbos every 3-4 years! this sounds ridculous to me and frankly id rather a naturally aspirated engine if this is the case. If that is true then if you run on really low boost can you have sort of lifetime warranty on ur turbo?
@angrygunsmith Everything you've heard is rubbish. BOV does not harm your turbo. BOV does not give you more power (unless your old one is broken), you do not have to change your turbo every three years. Start getting your advice from somewhere else because who ever has been telling you this stuff clearly is not of this planet.
@mightycarmods lol trust me mate i knew it was bullshit just the guy who told me act like he completely knows everything. Thanks for clearing all that up for me, thanks for vids
What happens if you dont block the factory bov vacuum line? Because i am new to installing a bov. I recently bought a 91 mr2 turbo and the guy installed the greddy bov himself and one of the vacuum lines is connected to the engine coolant and the other is connected to nothing and drips water. Im afraid to block it because i dont wanna fuck up anything because i love my mr2.
@EarvinMendoza that's not a vacuum line if it's connected to your engine coolant. You can usually find good vacuum sources coming off of the intake manifold.
i was wondering if you guys had any insight into tuning the vac on each of the throttle bodies for the gti-r. i have a 96 200sx with gti-r swap and just wann make sure that they are set right.
what size of hose clip is that that u used to block the factory vacuum line i have ordered all the parts to make my quad vacuum line but still need that last hose clamp because im not sure if cable ties will hold the blanking piece in place

I need to know if you can put a bov on my 98 eclipse non turbo...i know it would be useless and have no effect but i like the sound it makes, can it be done, without buying the whole turbo setup?
you can turbo that clio but its not as easy as just buying it and installing it u have to buy new vacumm lines and change the compression ratios and most likely get new piston rings and the totally is normally close to or over 3k
yes it is, you can get a turbo on almost any car you want, probably wont be easy since you need to mod everything on your clio.. I dont think its worth it! on a clio 1.2
just 2 add 2 my post my car waz capable of producing over 300+@ all 4... spent over 10g's on bottom end 6g's on gearbox juts had 2 put new turbo and computer and bolt on shit... but car waz stolen week b4 it waz goin bak in 2 get finished..
hey ther guys i ownd a gtir and had hks ssq bov on it..i only used 1 vac line and it worked perfect...if i blocked the standard bov vac line it would not boost passed 7psi..coz it would open the bov slightly and leak boost..and once i reconected it it would run its tuend pressure of 18psi....
the way to go with a car like yours would be suspension mods rather than chasing power. some new springs, shocks, swaybars, bushes etc will make a massive difference to enjoying driving the car. turboing your car would be more expensive than it's worth, it would be cheaper to sell it and buy a factory turbo car. We've got an episode on suspension modifications coming up soon!
*quality cable ties* lol

no, the BOV goes off when releasing TURBO pressure.. with no pressure their will be no noise.. so in short, no.

The "Crappy Hood" you mentioned comes on all GTI'Rs originally from the factory.

it happens when the throttle snaps shut, that happens less in an auto car if you've left your foot planted to the floor

hi guys.my car is not a turbo but do you know if you can get fake dump valves/blow off valve?
magikshark 3 years ago
don't do it! seriously, save your money and buy a turbo car you will absolutely love it... fake blow off valves are at the top of the 'not cool' list

with turbos you have higher insurance, tax and running costs.i have a standard 1.4 ek civic would it be hard to get a turbo?
