I have never watched a sports science episode that was actually correct. Every time you see a sack the defender hits drives then spins off a defender (typically thats how it happens) to get to the qb. A defender never goes unblocked unless its a blitzing lb, if a simple nudge is all that is needed a sack would never happen... EVER. It takes a qb more than 1.5 seconds to throw the ball on average. The average play lasts 6.5 seconds. Interesting but junk none the less.
@LordOfTheTombs That doesn't change the fact that sports science is mostly incorrect. "A simple nudge" is an insult to every lineman in the league. Sports science is not science at all, at least not accurate science. No disrespect intended. Look up the scientific method, when SS did the Baseball vs. Softball episode they didn't even use it. The most basic of scientific principles and they didn't do it? SS is for ratings, not true science.
wow I think this actually compliments luis castillo more than big ben, don't get me wrong, big ben is more than extremely talented, possibly future HOF, but luis is not even a prolific pro bowler, he's not really been around long enough to be considered a veteran, and he's not even the main focus of the chargers dee, when he came in, he had to work toward being a starter, and he was virtually an unknown, and now look! amazing speed and agility. even with teavelling extra yardage, he's still fast
Anyone else laugh when they talked about the sensors that detect what his eyes are looking at? I'd like to see those sensors on him when he walks into a college bar...

Why are they measuring the speed rush of a 3-4 defensive end!? They should have used either a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 OLB. Oh well it was a good watch anyway
@blackrican924 Luis is pretty fast for a 3-4 DE or DT as he played in college. He runs a 4.79 which is average among all defensive linemen in the NFL. They wanted a player with average speed. It wouldn't be fair to put Ben up against someone like Lawrence Taylor
@Handlez362 Ware is both faster ANd harder to block. Ware runs around the 4.5 mark and he's strong as an ox. He can push his guy over or beat him Allen is nothing more than a speed DE. Run at him to beat him
people blame the shitty o-line for big ben's sacks but big ben tells people that it is him who is causing the sacks because he moves out of his pockets a lot and scramble. he's just not a pocket QB.
why yes. people talk about his ability to scramble and spot open receivers on the run. he's not as mobile as vick or young but he manages apparently. he has two rings to show for it.
Must have posted it while inebriated as i don't remember doing so.
While i think my original comment has some merit i will remove it as , in making my point, i didn't mean to be critical of Big Ben Roethlisberger; the guy is obviously an excellent athlete.

Don't know if that was intentional but it's no mean feat.
yeah, he might not be a tom brady or a peyton manning, but that's not what pittsburgh's about. big ben has his own style that works for the steelers. he's one of the best! Go Steelers!
tom braday throws a mean pass...but he's not good under pressure...Ben and peyton...what?peytons not even close...Ben has finished with a higher rating then peyton almost every year of his cereer...if peyton or that cheater brady had our O line...the'd be two of the worst in the league.Ben is awesome
I wonder why they didn't put any accelerometer on the ball itself. I want to know how much 'zip' he has on it, or is it just not a fair test in that sense?
ok, lets just all get over it..... the steelers are the best team ever and big ben is one of the best there is. 6 time world champions!!!!!!! STEELERS NATION!!!!!!

Hines Ward has not played more years than John Stallworth has (who is in the Hall of Fame) and Ward still has more receptions, recieving yards and TD's than him. any NFL qb can be great with an O line like Peyton Or Brady.
Ben is an amazing qb because he can still perform week in and week out with a shitty line.

How ironic would it be if the Steelers make it to, and win, Super Bowl XLIII?
It'd be the same broadcast team as SBXL...whom I'm sure will make reference to the manufactured controversy that you allude to.
Then, it'd be nice to see the Steelers dominate and make this a super blowout....like the old 49ers blowouts of Super Bowls past.
That way, we would be able to finally put this BS to rest. No excuses...no if ands or buts...
We'll see...
