  • Delightful to hear this after many, many years, but whose idea to add the cello and horn parts? The cello introduction and middle section was spurious and added nothing. Why was the Animato played Prestissimo? Modern pianists seem unable to resist showing just how fast they can play. The rhythmic flow in that section was lost and the strange chromatic semi-quavers were submerged in the rush. Schumann shone through, but oh what a disappointment.

  • @Boskednan

The original version of this work has the horn and 'cello parts.

  • @boxers7x5 Thanks for that information. Maybe Schumann decided the piece worked better without horn & 'cello! It is certainly a great work for two pianos alone.

  • @moonrockmombo I am NOT moonrockmombo but Boskednan. How do I correct that error?

  • Asolutamente divino ! Peccato che la Signora Argerich sia nascondata dal cello....ci vuole mangiare più di zuppa come il nostro grande Mauricio, hun hun ! Vincenzo-zo de Caxate di Castelnuovo

  • Great!

  • Un grand merci pour ce post !
