  • 0:14 - God, even SARA isn't safe from cliff racers...

  • It was because of this review I found The Elder Scrolls.

It was because of Toonami I'm an Elder Scrolls fan.

Fuck yeah this shit was awesome.

  • This was back in the day when game companies didn't buy off everybody to say that there game is perfect. This is an honest review, with two different outputs on the game. They not only brought up interest in the game, but they talked about it's key features. All in one minute! Choke on that, Gametrailers!

  • @Dudinator123 It was not that long ago.

  • i'd like to see him review skyrim but it's too late for that now

  • Haha Tom knows whats up, TES blows. Action games with quality gameplay are where it's at, aint no casual.

  • This video made Morrowind so epic and awesome when I was a kid, and made me want to get it.

And I did, and it WAS.

Fucking awesome game. So great for its time. And yes, I have Skyrim, and even though its ALMOST in par with story quality, I still think Morrowind still has so much charm.

Sure combat is a bitch until lvl 20, but its so great once you get into it.

  • tom is the definition of a boss

  • It may sound stupid but this review was what actually changed my gaming preference. Before the Elder Scrolls series I was a huge JRPG fan. But after playing Morrowind I never looked back.

  • He did video game reviews? :o

I bet TOM plays Skyrim now

  • I admit it, Toonami's Morrowind review is how I got into the Elder Scrolls universe in the first place.

  • What's funny is back then 8 was really fucking good. Now 8 is like a slap in the face.

  • Spike Spiegel reviewing Morrowind, awesome

  • I like the banter in this review.

  • lol.. I wish I could hear Tom talk about Skyrim. That computer might FUS RO DAH!

  • I remember when I first played Morrowind, I was wondering if this was the fantasy role-playing game that Toonami reviewed (since it had been several years since I first seen it). After watching this video, I am glad to know that it was Morrowind that they reviewed. In fact, just seeing this review makes me want to play Morrowind again. :)

  • "Fuck you Tom."

    - Bethesda

  • The continent... It's an island

  • Tom is a CoD fanboy.

  • WOW! tom is dick in this one xD

  • God I miss this era of toonami and cartoon network . Such great shows and memories. :)

  • God I miss this era of toonami! Such great memories

  • I'm with my man Tom on this one

  • This blew my mind, TOM and his computer plays everything

  • Wow, most honest review ever. How was this a popular series before 2006? I don't know, this just doesn't compare to Oblivion or even come close to Skyrim. Atleast it's playable, unlike Daggerfall *shudder*. I normally love those era of games but neither hold my interest, the 90's were a much better time for JRPGs, though now with Oblivion, fallout 3, Mass Effect and the lack of great Final Fantasy's or most JRPGs the Western RPGs are the king.

  • @CyborgJediNinja313 shutup faggot

  • Gotta say, I was always on Tom's side in this argument. Love Oblivion and Skyrim though.

  • Best review ever :D

    If you care!

  • i still remember watching this live and immediately becoming intrigued by elder scrolls...now here i am almost a decade later with both morrowind and oblivion under my belt, playing SKYRIM at the moment

  • damnit tom stfu and listen!!!

  • Ooohhhh Tom!

  • ....I CANT WAIT FOR SKYRIIIIMMMMM!!!!!!

  • @Madnessofoblivion ME TOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

  • So why is a computer reviewing the console version of a PC game?

  • @Falxix The Absolution runs on Mac.

    I'm serious.

  • @Falxix Change of pace maybe?

  • One of the greatest games of all time.

  • I remember how when I was a kid, I'd browse the games at Costco (because we went there to shop and I didn't know about stores like Gamestop). Every week I'd see Morrowind. The images and everything just looked so fascinating. Every time I'd beg for it, I got a no. It must have been sitting on a shelf for a year. 8 years after Morrowind was released and I've still never had the pleasure of playing it, and don't know if I'd want to because of the outdated graphics (and since I have Oblivion).

  • @thatguy176 (continued) Still. I have to admit this game is a classic and the desire to have it is what sparked my love of role-playing video games. If I weren't so picky about the 2002 character models, I'd probably download it right now.

  • @thatguy176 If you have it for PC you should check out the mods like Better Bodies and (if memory servces) Faces of Morrowind. Those two mods gives all the characters improved bodies and faces. Then there's Morrowind Overhaul that completely revamps all the textures and graphics of the game. MGE also revamps the graphics by giving you distant land and a new shaders. It may not beat Skyrim in terms of bells & whistes but it's a huge improvement from the 2002 era graphics.

  • @thatguy176

really, after all this time, the only good reason to dislike Morrowind is the combat system. They based it off of dice rolls, so all your sword swings and arrow shots have a chance of missing if you are unskilled with them (even when "landing" a solid blow). Personally, after playing Oblivion, I like Morrowind better, because you can see how your dice rolls get better and better. There is almost no sense of progression in Oblivion, and Skyrim promises to be more of the same.

  • I thought Morrowind was amazing when it first came out, as I had never seen a game like it before in my life. Got it a year or two later in like 2003. I was so confused and didn't know where to go, so we just explored til it got dull. We finally beat it, 8 years later, in 2011. Waiting for Skyrim now. :)

  • @Luy22 then in 2019 (if we even last that long) It'll be Elder Scrolls 10: Fuck it we're tired of this shit

  • I kinda liked morrowind and all, but Tom was just hilarious in this.

  • i LIVED in Morrowind for a few months.sob.love Morrowind :)

  • Morrowind>oblivion

  • back when cartoon network wasnt gay

  • I bet every RPG enthusiast had to go through arguments just like this one at least once in their lives, hehe.

  • Miss this.

  • Thank you for sharing this.

  • Toonami's coming back. I have a feeling...

  • @GamecubeLPs 10 months later...still nothing

  • Tom is a casual.

  • THIS MUSIC IS SICK!!!

  • awwww, xbox! Even if i had one of those, it'd take me too long to convert from the controls of the playstation.

  • This is what made me pick up the game. Thank you Toonami for introducing me to my second life!

  • CN used to be awesome!

  • lol they really played this game down. he talked shit about it. the combat was pretty fun. but i think he was talking like that becuz kids watch this. and they wanna make it sound boring to simple minded kids lol. so their parents dont waste their money on a game they cant play.

  • @vespaman101 It looked interesting to me when I saw it, but they showed it so rarely that I never got the title. I had no idea it was Morrowind haha.

  • lol.. thi sis when i first saw the elder scrolls and i said...damn thats cool a cat person lol. u run around... and i didn't play it til 3 years later. lol..then i fell in love..HARD.... i remember i forgot the title for the longest.

  • Wow, she said sex.

Bet that would be banned today.

  • @oiStuartx lol I remember getting off of school and watching Rurouni Kenshin and someone said damn and I was like "omg saying damn during the day on a cartoon channel?" I mean yeah it's anime, some has cursing but I remember being kind of shocked, not thinking it was good or bad really. ha.

  • I remembered wanting to play this so bad, but I forgot the fricken title. xD I finally did buy it last year and then after watching this video realized that is what it was. ;_;

How wonderful if I was to play this when I was much younger.

  • @Feedmadcat very similar story here lol. u still playin it?

  • @vespaman101 Yup ^_^

  • @Feedmadcat u play oblivion too? i'm really good at morrowind at least i tihnk so btw lol.

  • RPG-ish? this is a huge fucking rpg!

  • @CaptainPwnage300 prolly said rpg-ish because at the time most games talkeda bout as rpg's were final fantasy like games. and many turn based rpg's. when i was younger i dont remember there being alot of sandbox style open ended rpg's.

  • i thought thiks was akids block why are they reviewing rated M games like dead or alive and this

  • @rudorot65 im pretty sure dead or alive and morrowind are rated t

  • Wow. Thats wierd. Pikmin gets a 9 Morrowind gets an 8. Not much logic there

  • LoL I dont care right now!

  • This was my favorite review of all of them.

  • i didnt like it because i could not for the life of me hit anything, not even the side of a barn. i go up to a guy and press the trigger and he swings and it goes right through him and doesnt do damage

  • I've just realized that TOM is voiced by the same guy that voiced Spike on Cowboy Bebop. Sounds like him too.

  • This game is THE only reason I got myself an Xbox. I didn't even care about Halo. Between this review, and my friend vouching for how great the game is, I got the Xbox, and I got this game.

Just now I'm buying the Collector's edition for the PC. Gonna mod the fuck out of it.

  • Wow, for such a depricating review, this is what got me to try out Morrowind for the PC and to this day I still play Oblivion :D.

  • psssh 8, stupid whore

  • @404MetalHead don't hate on toonami bish

  • lol i miss toonami where Tom wasnt a bunch of fucking gay ass looking robots with human faces. COOL metallic robot Tom that got melted in lava was way cooler.

  • I remember the good ol' days

  • RPG-ISH What the hell are you talking about! How the hell is it 'ish', This is a total deep rpg and if you don;t know that you know nothing about gaming!

  • This review was the second funniest review he did. The funniest was dropship.

  • Just think of Tom Reviewing Fallout 3

  • We've been expecting you!

  • To be fair, Morrowind is a horrible game..

    for the xbox.

  • @Eruonen honestly how? it was the most detailed and scripted game ever out for the xbox. And honestly go call up your local gamestop or whatever game place you have near your location and see if they have that game in stock. Honestly i doubt it.

  • @elskepode2 it's a PC game. It was very badly ported to the xbox.

  • @Eruonen It runs pretty poorly on the 360 but I never played it on an original xbox though. I'm tempted to buy the PC version for the convenience.

  • @Eruonen the first place i played it was on the x-box and i loved it. as long as you are unaware of the convenience of the pc version, then it isnt that bad.

  • @DethByMyIbanezAxe fair enough :>

  • Fucking loved this shit when i was a kid :333

  • YOU N'WAH

  • lol a kids network reviewing M rated games ....lol

  • @edge1000 its not an M rated game, morrowind was T rated

  • @Waldoz53

oh yeh your right. i was thinking of Oblivion

  • This tom kicks ass.

  • STEVE BLUM

  • I still remember this review. It actually got me to check this game out.

  • What's going on here? Hmm... Hey.. I remember this commercial.

  • wow i cant believe toonami actually had this as a review did they ever happen to have one for oblivion i miss how people believed kids could actauly play an rpg and good ol toonami

  • isnt this game rated M for mature?? if it is why are they reviewing it on cartoon network

  • @thenewsupermonkey122 oblivion is M, morrowind was T

  • i laughed at what tom said about this review. loved it

  • This review made me get the game =)

    Thanks Toonami!!

  • MOTHER OF GOD . JEPF

  • Wow i was so young at the time..I dont even remember this shit

  • i love these reviews, everytime you go to another big video game website[gamespot, ign 1up] they always give games 10/10. these reviews were so hard on the games. LOVE IT

  • SuperBro.BrawlerKart thinks he'z played this game before.........HYUSZ I HAVE! ...but it is very boring and it actually was my neighbor Sarah's game. ...It was really really boring and stuff.

  • this review is what got me to pick up and play Morrowind..and I love the game :D

  • Same here! I had completely forgotten that it was my favorite cartoon block that originally got me to pick up one of my favorite games as a kid. Major nostalgia.

  • @Dirge I picked up this game when I was seven, I just saw it lying there in Game Stop, So me being curious I bought the game and brings me nostalgia when I play it now and i'm 15 now.

  • These reviews were pretty well reasoned and well done.

    Props, toonami :)

  • TOM, TOM

i guess he just needs more HALO

  • Tom's like "lol shitty game"

  • *grinning* And this is what made me but Morrowind. How many years later and I;m still playing it.....

  • i became hooked on this game for a long time when i bought the whole elder scrolls III expansion pack for xbox. years later i was hooked AGAIN when i DLed the rom on my pc and started using mods for it.

  • "What a terrific game" then by the end "a SOLID 8"

  • It's terrific in it's own way, but it has flaws that hold it back. This was a very well-reasoned review.

  • "I don't care right now," Tom's a pimp

  • man they not only took this toonami away they gave the crappy new one to replace it just to have toonami alltogether removed

  • Has anyone but me noticed that most of the games that Toonami reviews get an 8 out of 10? lol

  • "There's Some Main Quest Where You're Some Sort Of Savior.."

You NEED to grasp the importance of the nerevarine! D:<

  • omg i wish they still had that toonami bcuz the newer one sux.

  • the newer one shut down in september 20 2008

  • hahaha I remember seeing this short on CN when I was a kid

  • This game looked so awesome. I saw this on Toonami as well, but the thing that sucks is I didn't even get a chance to experience this masterpiece until about 3-4 years later because we were poor when it came out, but we ran into money later on when my mom married a rich guy :).

  • Well I understand your pain I two didn't get to play it till several years afterwards, Although my mom never married some rich guy I just got a great deal on an xbox and the guy also sold me morrowind with it.

  • TOM and Sara fighting over a game.

    Real mature.

  • Short and sweet.

  • oh dam i miss toonami

  • Yeah tom was awesome

  • I miss the old toonomi.

  • holycrap! i miss tom!

  • I would have never known about Morrowind if it wasn't for this review. This had to be one of the best games I have ever played. I don't play it anymore, but it's still in my top 5 favorite video games to this day

  • This....is the commercial that started it ALL for me.

    Thank you, toonami.

  • what the hell did this used to be on? I remember seeing commercials for it all the time but never actually watched it

  • Cartoon Network

  • @69sexymonk69 Eat shit and die, illiterate simpleton.
