yeah, with rights come responsibilities. are you gonna throw those animals in jail for not paying their taxes or assaulting and killing eachother and humans? what about segregation? it may sound ridiculous and unrealistic, and it is. but so is animal rights.
Alice you have to realize that common sense has to prevail with things and with animals. The world isn't pretty and sometimes we have to do things that we don't like doing for the grater good, such as culling animals and other things which ensure their survival and benefit not only them but ultimately us and everything else as well.
Remember I said 'a responsible and humane stewardship'
The term 'stewardship' in this instance refers to the effective management of environmental resources which animals effect. It's not being arrogant it's being smart about things for the good of human beings and for the good of animals.
There is no doubt that animals experience pain, suffering, joy, pleasure, love, loneliness and sadness. I believe the real sin in our relationship with them begins with the very word "stewardship" and the arrogance that this term conjures. We're just the simians gone mad.
