Hey bro! I"m glad to see that you still have that Blazer:) It was one of my first build with many custom pieces added to it for details!:) I'm always happy to see someone keeping one of my projects as a show piece:) I have a few of my stuff that I don't think i'll ever part with, they are just too cool and worth holding on to:) Anyways, nice to see you again bro!
nice custom xmod......if you wanna see a awesome offroader go look at my newest finished xmod project...."big dog"....a lifted custom xmod challenger....looks crazy!
hey would it be possible if you could make a 77 blazer lowered tho i wANNA buy one from you cause i own a 77k5 blazer 2 wd lowered i want a mini me truck
Holy crap, the first 40 secs or so my hubby and I thought it was the real thing. He's all "Wow, holy shit that's so frickin' awesome" and I go "uh.... It's a model!" he goes "what? NO!" and I pointed to the rails in the background and we both cracked up. Those are some pretty sweet models you have though, great job!
lol - thanks, this was the 1st one that I put alot of details on it and it fooled alot of people in the pictures alone. Check out my profile and you see alot of my other custom r/c models that i've done since this one was built.
I tell you this,i have a real k5 blazer and you really did one heck of a job.I also have an x mod hummer so could you let me know where to find a blazer body. Thanks and again great job.
this blazer is my favorite out of all of them , which i all love! but i want to ask, was it hard to custom fit the body onto the h2 chassis? what did you do to custom fit it to attach? im looking for a blazer body to do exactly this my self, EXCELLENT WORK!!!
Thanks dude. It's not hard - i just used a piece of styrene (plastic signs can work good also) and i made a piece with a hole/slot for the front clip to goin into, then for the back I just glues anothe piece under neatht eh body so that I can screw the rear clip into it.
it's just a part of the yard that concrete was poured onto - it has some rocks and pieces of cement blocks in it too - it sure is a cool mini trail for these micro r/c's.
Thanks, it's the same rescue model that you're doing that i used to make this one. I love building these but they're alos hard to find sometimes. I made like 2 of them (red/white,semi-gloss black/matt black, and this one blue/wite)
Your reverse seems to be working..When i go reverse on my Titan it goes forwards for like 2cm(this could happen 2-3 times) then if i click reverse again it then will reverse...is this a motor problem or circut board?
check your gears - it could be set-up wrong or you got weak batteries. Another thing could be that you forgot to put in the plastic bushings or bearings in the place that they should be - you should make sure that they're all in otherwise you'll tear up your gears.
The body? well you could got one of those from ebay, online store or your local hobby store. The Xmods you'll likely find on the forums or on ebay for sale.
Oh I see, thanks for all the helpful info. One of these days I will buy a camera and I will start posting stuff of my antics and creations. Plans are already underway to build a xmods that is "funny car" styled and uses a DeWalt cordless drill motor, lol.
You should really make a custom build site on myspace or somthing. Ever since i have seen this video i started to sniff around on the net foe simular things but you definantly take the cake for precision and craftsmanship! I have one more question however. On the short box chavy truck you built and had a video in which you were "mudding" with it, how did you protect the gears and electronics from the elements?
The tires are from an aoshima truck model. The swampers are kinda hard to find by themselves now so the only other way is to buy the entire model kit which is kinda expensive but worth it IMO.
That is perhaps the coolest RC blazer I have ever seen. I have a 91 fullsize blazer and my buddy has a 88 gmc jimmy fullsize. that truck looks just like his. I have videos of us wheeling which once I have converted to digital I will upload and give you heads up.
Help me answer this question, would an AMT '62 Chevy Impala convertable fit on an xmod? That and would any 1/24, 1/25 scale fit an xmod? (with mounting mods of course. ;P)
Thanks for the videos, glad to know that this is possible.
I'm sure that it would fit if you lenghten the chassis otherwise it won't fit. There's a possiblity that the model might be too wide also so you might have to use wider rims and tires to fill in the wheel well spaces.
I guess that means that you won on Ebay right? If so, you're pretty lucky to have a one-of-kind Xmod truck in your possession -lol. I don't think I can make another one similar to that because it had alot of details and custom parts - I don't even remeber all the stuff I put on it -lol
It's not too hard if you know how to take a motor apart and put it back together again. You also have to know how to solder abit because you have to resolder the caps that's on the tabs and motor can.
I thought about that but I never had a spare NSX to work with before - they're kinda hard to come by. I do have a ccustom NSX painted with the F&F3 Tokyo Drift RX7 paint scheme (I should get some vid of it soon)
thanks, be sure to do alittle browsing on other people's projects before you start yours - it will help you understand stuff more like what you need, what to do 1st, and so on. Good Luck on your project.
LOL - I had to do alot of mods to the interior and stuff for it to fit ontop the chassis( can't tell ya everything because it's too long to list the mods).
Well you have to save it on your computer 1st, then you choose the upload option on here and folloe the instructions. You have to find the video file and then upload it ( it take a few mins.) and then it tells you what else to do afterwards.
Appearantly you don't understand the meaning of "hobby". Anyways, maybe if you had something you could show off you won't have to be calling people "nerds".
how did you mount the body to the Xmod i have the 84 for gMc PIck up body and i cant seem to find a way to mount it to the the xmod you do awsome work tho
just make custom mount pieces for it - use the xmods' body as a guide. I made a front clip socket to slide the front clip into and rear mount piece to screw the back clip onto - similar way that it is on the original body.
yeah i did, but it's alittle more different now becasue i added the silver and black trims after I did this vid. you can see it abit in my new gmc truck vid ( the 1st one with it pulling the nissan)
Hey, that's by far the best XMod i've seen yet..Good work, i just ordered me a set of those swampers..You have the best places to drive your XMod's too, good music selection..What is the name of the instrumentals?
hey man i bought a '67 camaro xmod and just about every ugrade u can buy for it but after a couple of months i found that all the power went away and now its slow nomatter what engine i put in even when i bought it the extra engines you buy seperate are slower also my freind bought one and his goes so fast and he didnt do shit to it mine is so slow any suggestions for a fellow xmoder
You might have stuff build-up around the gears inside - take it apart and clean everything, add some gear grease on the diffs. If you awd make sure you have the right shaft and if you don't have the bearings then get them. Also, if you place the stage 2 motor with the gear colored gears - you lose torque -(slow starts but faster on stretches). If you use the orange colored gears - more torque -(quicker acceleration but not too much speed)-best for curving tracks.
This one was a full body version - cutting it would have ruin the strenght of the body structure. I do have a Bronco with the removable top - i'll be doing a SSMT version of it soon.
not necessaryly if you would have made an actuall roll cage it would have been stronger..you could have used either plastic tubing or the real fine aluminum tubing and put the tube from side to side where the bed woul be then a full roll cage so it would look like hard top. but it looks good . BTW will the bronco be on xmodworld? thnks
Thanks dude, I actually have all those stuff but i haven't done a scale roll cage before - i'll try it out on another model soon though. Oh yeah, the Bronco will be on every forum that i'm on - including XMW.
i saw in one of your videos that you have a mini-z monster truck because mini-z makes a line called overland and they are the same size as xmods and they look like them too but they dont sell mods for it but you can make custom mods for it.
yeah, i have a MZM, but i would necer mod it becasue it's too expensize - same for the OL's, they don't have mods and they are only RWD unlike the XMODS that are cheaper and have alot of parts to upgrade also.
i thought it was real !

hey were did you pick up your rims and tires
4x4titan1124 4 years ago
rims are from another truck model and the tires are aoshima super swamper tires.
Xmodification 4 years ago
mostly from hobby stores and a few of the chassis upgrades were purchased from online.
Xmodification 4 years ago
ohh. how much woek did it take and how much do you think it would cost?
bowiebulldawg75 4 years ago
ok so ive looked on ebay for this kind of body, but i couldnt find it. did you custom make it?
bowiebulldawg75 4 years ago
yeah, it's a model body converted to fit the xmods' chassis.

you have to look for a '75 chevu blazer model online - maybe try googling it and see what you can come up with.

Xmodification 4 years ago
how do u protect the gears and stuff when uu in mud?
Xmodcontrol 4 years ago
I really didn't do anything to protect them -lol. You could add petroleum jelly or grease to prvent water from entering the motor and gear housings.
Xmodification 4 years ago
Oh I see, thanks for all the helpful info. One of these days I will buy a camera and I will start posting stuff of my antics and creations. Plans are already underway to build a xmods that is "funny car" styled and uses a DeWalt cordless drill motor, lol.

On the short box chavy truck you built and had a video in which you were "mudding" with it, how did you protect the gears and electronics from the elements?
Troyc20 4 years ago
thanks, it was high and it never really got the batteries wet - the mud was just deep enough for the tires to be covered -lol.
Xmodification 4 years ago
Did you compress the springs so they would be softer or is that problem?
Troyc20 4 years ago
I used the yellow spring set all around for the suspension - it works great.
Xmodification 4 years ago
Ok, thank you. Does the front travel as much as the rear? If so, is it the same modification? This the truck chassis right?
Troyc20 4 years ago
the front has individual suspension so it's not adjustable, and yes - it the trucks chassis.
Xmodification 4 years ago
Iam looking to gat a xmods kit to put a model of my choice on it. My question is how did you get the "long travel" effect with the suspesion?
Troyc20 4 years ago
you have to modify the rear axle part by cutting away the plastic clips that stop it from articulating too much.
Xmodification 4 years ago
Where did you get the body to start off with?
KingKila2427 4 years ago
it's a plastic 1/24 model - I bought it from a Hobbypeople store.

Man thats nice the only thing i would have done diffrent was that i would have hacked the top and put in a roll cage
but it looks good
