I just re-beat this game today for the 12th time, but i already started playing again. The 12th time I beat the game was today(as i said), and I had just started it today also. I beat it in about 5-6 hours. The one I'm redoing currently, well I'm already halfway through it. Even if a lot of people don't like this game, I love it. I sure that you can see that by how many tomesbive beaten it. I hope that they make a second FFCC: The Crystal Bearers game with layle as the main character etc, etc.

Would this game be a good game to get into the Final Fantasy series with? I haven't played any Final Fantasy games yet and I really want to because of the high praise of most of the games.

I just purchased this game at Walmart. It was the last copy at the store. Normally it would have been $20, but the package was so beat up that I only payed $10 for it. Thankfully, it doesn't look like the CD had any damage inflicted on it. Can't wait to play it!

I first got this game when it came out, but I stopped playing it at the first boss. It was different things that made me stop. My sensor bar was broken and I couldn't get it to work half the time, my TV I played it on was too dark and I couldn't see things, and I couldn't figure out how to beat the dragon, so I just stopped. I may just put this back in my wii when I get the chance. After seeing the new game +, I'll give it another shot.

In comparison to other reveiws this is definitely very well done, though I think may not be as short as you say depending on how much time you spend getting anything and everything in the game. After seeing this review, I may pick up this game, it didn't intrigue me to much at first.

I adore cutscenes but several things like slow game play when hurling projectiles and the recycled music is true non the less yours is a fine review but I love movies and I thought the characters used hand motions in alot of their talking very wide and unneeded but over all a decent game time

I like learning about whats going on, also it's true, 30 hours is a lot, also the side quests and stuff are awesome!!

I love how they added the mini-games, which reminds me of NMH1!!

You said you're a musician... And I'm very impressed that you have criticized the music instead of praising it. This games just has the best OST since... I don't, since Ocarina of Time. The music in this game just kick ass. And there are A LOT of good songs on it.

I hate cutscenes in any shape or form, they can't possibly be good, since they take away control.

And video games are about control, you can't take that away, the more you take it the less of a video game it is.

I like uninterruptible storytelling, good examples of this are Half-Life 2, Metroid Prime, Bioshock, Shadow of the Colossus, Dead Space, amonsgt others.

True proof that you don't need cutscenes to tell a good story, that is the right way to tell a tale on a VIDEO GAME.

While I did enjoy the review, I was disappointed by the conspicuous absence of the reviewer screaming in pain as his arm snapped from all the masturbatory back-patting that went on. Really now, you're the better journalists and game reviewers merely because you liked the game and played through it twice? though there should be a fansite, or in part 2 a map, cuz when you first buy the game and you dont know crap it adds to gameplay hours if you dont know were to go next!

This was certainly a good review; but I'd respect it a good bit more if they could pronounce "Lilty", "Clavat", and "Moogle" correctly. Considering they claim to have beaten this game twice, they really should have picked up on the proper pronunciation.

These games shouldn't be called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, just Crystal Chronicles would be fine. It is obvious that when Square released the first CC game, they added Final Fantasy as a title just to make it sound awesome just by judging the title.

@getdrinking For an RPG, it's 30 hours it's pretty avarage. And yes, it is a RPG, an Action RPG. It's not an Action Adventure, but an Action RPG.

The game is short? Um, no.

This is a 50+ hour sandbox game. I've logged 70 hours already, only used New Game+ once. Exploring, finding hidden areas, getting material/accessories, fighting new enemies, and getting all the medals - it quadruples the gameplay time and is the REAL core factor of this game, not it's short main story. There is FAR more.

You claim this is a "fair review" when you haven't even tried the sidequests/exploration/non-sto­ry content. You haven't played even half the game!

...Recycled music? You dislike that the music loops? I had no issue with that whatsoever. Most games have that, and it's never been a problem for me in the past. Maybe if a song especially sucked I might start to care, but almost every track in this game is awesome. I love how eclectic the game's soundtrack is, and the wide variety of genres that one can hear at any point in The Crystal Bearers.

Well I got whats going for :P but I still stay true on FFCC (not FF series after 7) From GCN to DS, DS to Wii. Im going to like FFCC:CB. Although im sad that you can't play as the Yukes, DAMN YOU SQUARE, I love the Yukes mainly being a magic person on the game. But still I like how it looks. Short gameplay? I never had a problem with that unless its likes 1 hour short. but 4 hours is fine cause I play Mirrors Edge allot. Awesome Review KWing Yet again. and I would agree with that score.

With Recycled Music I do agree I hate Re Cycled Music sometimes, I noticed this issue in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days though one track I love and can't complain but even Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep suffers from that same issue. To be fair Square was working on FF13 and working with its Agito counterpart so people at Square might be really tired and laziness like this may occur from time. Though to be honest I did not like Kingdom Hearts 2 that much due to long cutscenes. But anyway sweet review

I have the whole OST and I was amazed the music that they didn't end up using more in the game. It was Amazing. I put it on my Wife's DSI brilliant stuff. Yet Square only picked a handful of songs for the world map stuff. Its a shame.
