God is real and I can prove it. Look at my channel and see what I found using google earth and also found hidden in famous paintings. I really can prove it... please come see and make sure you read all I've written.
In Genesis 6:13 where God says he will "destroy them with the earth" the word "with" means "using." God did not say " I will destroy then ALONG WITH the earth."
@Postoasted Can you substantiate your assertion that the Hebrew 'eth means here "with" as in "using" rather than "together with"? After all, the earth did not destroy all life upon it save Noah and those aboard the ark, but God did using an absurd amount of water. Indeed, the earth would have suffered a great deal in such a cataclysm, don't you think?
@Postoasted There's nothing there in that article to substantiate your assertion that the Hebrew 'eth means "with" as in "using" as opposed to "together with." Indeed, if we are to believe that article --that the "flood" was a localized event and not global--then the Bible is proved wrong in its assertion because it clearly states the flood destroyed all life on earth, not just a small triangle of life and geography in the ancient Near East.
Jesus! When Yahweh says you're wicked, you must really be messed up! This from the deity who punished all mankind for a single act by the first two humans! Drown every living thing. Killed the first-born of all the land of Egypt. Sent two bears to maul 42 kids. Murdered his own son and sent him to hell for three days.
when I was a chlld, one of the biggest reasons for losing faith in god was that all these miraculous things were supposed to have happened in the past, but never happened in modern day times. NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. Prayers are NOT answered, ever. "God's plan is mysterious, its not for us to know", just wasn't good enough for me. Learning about dinosaurs in school sealed the deal for me.
One thing i always liked about brett's videos is you do not need the book quantum science for dummies open as you watch the vid, something i think some atheist that have vids can take a lesson from him, after all we all aren't scientist.
That always kind of pissed my off. You have the garden being guarded by badass angels with flaming swords, and then they don't mention it again. That is not good story telling.
Mormons believe the Garden of Eden was in Missouri. Why? Because Joseph Smith was romping through there one time and he casually said it. Since he was their "prophet" his companions took him literally and Mormons have been foolishly defending Smith's mindless assertion ever since. LOL!
@Gidwan That's OK, they'll go back to Missouri because that's where Jesus is returning to, BEFORE he goes to Jerusalem! Yes, you read that right, Mormonism is a screwy cult. I know, cuz I was in it, many many years ago.
If the rivers were nostalgically named post-flood, it could only have been by Noah & family. So they must have lived in the location of 2 rivers by that name before the flood. But as they drifted for over a year, they could have started from almost anywhere in the world, as no location is given for his starting point, yet strangely, tho they landed about 1000 miles from the location of Eden, they gave the rivers in the area errrrr.. the names they already had before the flood... my head hurts!!
dead plant animals etc = carbon = OIL = Iraq land = rich in oil
that proves that garden of eden might be in iraq also its clearly stated in genesis that god made a great ''flood'' not an explosion to destroy those river, ex its like having a over flow river cuz of typhoon but after that the river still appears. sry about my english ;p
@FaizSpiegel Just as my video explains, the Bible story of the flood states that the deluge not only was sent to destroy all life, but the earth along with it. IF the flood occurred as stated, the unimaginable forces unleashed during the cataclysm were sufficient to totally wipe out all surface features of the planet, including riverbeds. The story of the garden and the flood are incompatable one with the other. It's a rather simple conclusion.
@FaizSpiegel Research Lake Agazziz and you will see that there was likely a very sudden c400 ft rise in global sea level around 9000BC [may be BP?), Now look at the Persian Gulf. It is VERY shallow and would have been a very nice place to live before the sea level rise. The rivers that now empty in to the gulf would have watered the lands and emptied in to the Arabian sea through the Gulf of Hormuz.

@quinnmcguee Surely the teabaggers would have to disprove the genetists claiming early human immergance took place in Afirca(teabaggers worst nightmare, knowing all of humanity have ancestors in Africa).
Mitchondria DNA and the Y Chromosome disproves the Genesis story because they do not ultimately point to the Middle East but then again, science isn't popular amongst creationists.
Uhh, if the new rivers are named after the old rivers who, exactly, named them? I mean all of mankind save one schmuck on an animal infested boat perished. So he was the repository of all knowledge, too?
@flyingfisbeefilms Then you are FAR ahead of the curve! When I was 8 I was clutching my Bible, praying to God and believing I could walk on water at the local swimming pool if I tried hard enough!!
@brettppalmer me of little faith...i can say i never believed either. i use to tell lies and then swearing to god i did not just to see the reactions of the other kids. In 1st grade i ask my teacher if god was real? just for confirmation. When i learned about greek and athen gods i was thinking if all these gods were wrong what would make anyone else god right? When i learned about Purgatory from Shakespeare references that people did not believe in anymore i thought religion was a joke!
@brettppalmer, Yep. In fact, they basically think that the other two rivers are the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, and that Eden was (and Zion will be) where they joined. That before the Flood, all non-island land was one continent (Joseph Smith imagined continental drift back in the early–mid 1800s) and that either at the Flood or at the Tower of Babel, the continents were divided (Genesis 10:25), and the Tigris & Euphrates were joined with or near the Mississippi and Missouri.
@jmcanoy1860 No secret at all. For voice recording I use DAK. For screen captures I use CamStudio. And everything else (visuals, music, sound) I just scrounge around the 'net and then slap everything together in Sony Vegas Movie Studio!
Did someone tell that dude that we'd expect names like New Tigris and New Euphrates if that were the case. Given that now, because of his reason, we have New York, New Hampshire, New South Wales. Oh yeah, and I never got what's up with New South Wales. Did the people who settled hate the north side of Wales that much that they couldn't just call it New Wales. You can't tell me that people would think you're referring to cetaceans. If you're worried about ambiguity in place names go to Georgia.
Sorry Brett, I won't be able to watch your videos for a while. I pre-ordered Fable III and got it on Tuesday, and have much gaming to do...you understand the feeling, right? =)
When confronted with the flood claim I usually grant that preposition... of course with all consequences:
All life on the planet, countless innocent newborns and animals, suffering horrible deaths: Depending on their pet-hypothesis of where the water came from this includes being torn apart from the inside out due to sudden decrease in atmospheric pressure, being boiled alive by hot water vapor or slowly drowning while struggling to stay afloat.
@ixiwildflowerixi No horror movie ever produced, no real life war-crimes or natural disasters ever witnessed since then can compare... and all that, when God could have done it with less than a finger snap.
I never understood why believers try to proof the flood. You'd think they'd happily jump on the allegory train since it'd be one of the best pieces of evidence that god, if it existing, is either a) not all-powerful or b) the worst sadistic piece of feces imaginable or c) both of the above.
@Khuntastik It's pretty buggy...but no. I just don't want to play it so much that I finish it too quickly. I want to savor it! But..bad news....James Bond: Blood Stone for the PS3 and Goldeneye for the Wii come out next week! OMG!!! :)
