  • Doesn't do it for me. What a shreaker, harsh and wobbly.

  • grande voce.... ma NON qui. Tutto troppo gridacchiato e sguaiato, con poco controllo di tutti gli acuti, sofferti. Tempi toppo slargati con effetto di pesantezza generale.

  • Violeta Urlana!!!!!!!

  • This lady, who really had a wonderful voice some 10 years ago and obviously still has, simply doesn't have the schooling to sing this early Verdi operas; the writing is still to close to the "bel canto romantico", and the "agilita"to sing the coloratura parts is simply not in her voice not in her technique. Of course, this type of comments drive amateur listeners mad; is not my intention... but please, go and get the scores, and READ THEM, and then you will understand.

  • @colonia3059 I totally agree. Yes, it's a big voice with tremendous drama and colour in it, but her coloratura is simply not steady enough. It brings to mind the timbre and passion of Elena Suliotis. For my money Sutherland's first recital disc is the benchmark although Deutokom on the complete recording is mighty impressive.

  • this is awful and hard on the ears...who ever advised her to sing this role was WRONG

  • ULTRAVIOLETA SOVRURMANA ! EPIC GREAT

  • um, can we talk about how she skips an entire phrase at 1:00 ?

  • Oh goodness, this is a disaster. Part of the problem is Muti's conducting.

  • @ariodante76 I 100% agree. The vibrato is wide and awful. The high notes are basically screams, especially in the florid phrases, ugh. And what on earth is she doing even singing this role, this is for a genuine dramatic coloratura, or at least the kind of Verdian soprano who could also sing the Trovatore Leonora or Elvira. I KNOW there are singers out there who can sing this. The tepid applause from the audience tells all, this should be a thrilling moment, not a travesty.

  • @FoggyRoad81 I agree!!! This is painful to hear.

  • Goodness ... that's the current state of her voice? And she is doing extra damage singing such a demanding role as Odabella? Why?

  • @tinyvoicedgheorghiu My sentiments, exactly! What on earth made this mezzo think she could become an Italian Dramatic? The sound is so ugly that she should only sing Abigaille and Lady Macbeth... the only redeeming feature is the phrasing... sad

  • BRAVISSIMA ! LEGENDARY SOPRANO

  • Violeta Urmana is magnificent. I heard her Tosca and her Kundry in Parsifal and she's amazing. I hope she sings Brunhilde and Isolde.

  • Finally Mr. Muti and Attila came to the Met. It was a triumph from beginning to end. Bravi a tutti!

  • @InBoccaChiusa You're delusional. This is a travesty of epic proportions.
