I actually think those kids are rather annoying, and I feel like some of it is kind of scripted. I definitely wouldn't compare them with the Beats, they don't really take it seriously at all.
If this project had been picked up, most likely, it would've been 1 year before it officially aired on TV, as Jim Henson's death was a big blow to Sesame Street, and The Muppets' legacy. Even so, I'm glad it didn't air, because if it had, I would have fallen under the spell of Reality TV shows like MTV'sThe Real World & Road Rules. I thought moving The Muppets to Disney World was a far better choice in this case, than to just go into Reality TV.
I doubt Henson did anything creative on this, though it looks like he was going to be producer if it got greenlit. I recognize Dana Gould, we was a stand-up comedian and went on to be a writer on the Simpson's

Among those who auditioned for the project were Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow.

Jim and Mike Nesmith probably could've done some great work together.

I can't help but find some very subtle homoeroticism in this, seeing as Jim's philosophy was fraternal.

Wow. First off, I actually had that book as a kid. It's full of great dinosaur illustrations, and I still have it.
I really think this, not Fraggle Rock, was Jim's "Swan Song". If this show had taken off, we'd not have all the crap reality tv we do now.
Does that help?

This has it's moments.
I have to say, a Date Shake doesnt sound very appetising.

Hm, I wonder what Jim would say about the 'reality' shows of today...

Wow, I've never heard of this! Great find! This should be youtube's official video, lol.
Ironically, cameras would soon get even smaller!

This was 9 days before Jim Henson's Death. This I think is Jim Henson's last work.
