  • were doing this in grade 9 so suck that noobbs JK! :)

  • @randomjunkist faggot

  • I can do this with my pencil tho >:|

  • sexy voice. i want more!

  • I am not familiar with the mesh function on the IPT file. I use the autoCAD 2011 Invertor saftware and i still cant find it. Just saying, using the mesh functunction might not be easy with IDW files but idk, i never used it.

  • im a high school student n ive been using this software for 3 years .i cant remember which version of auto cad we originally had but who ever stated this new software crashes every so often was correct . the old one never had any technical difficulties and this new one has them nearly every time i walk into my classroom.

  • @TheZer0celsius its most likely a configuration issue with the computer itself and/or the network since you're using it at school? I'm a 4th year engineering student and I've been using autocad for 3 years now and every year i upgrade to the new version (free for students) and I don't have any problems with it at all - not at home nor at the uni.

  • ribbon sucks... for 3D go Inventor

  • Is AutoCad Freestyle similar to Autocad2010? I have to use AutoCad for an engineering class but the program is far too expensive! Are the AutoCad programs compatible with Freestyle?

  • good

  • you can get this program for free, i have it on my computer, it took like 30 min but it was all free and it all works

  • Here's the deal. AutoCAD does cost four grand. That's why most people who use it use it through their company who has the leasing agreement.

As for Microstation and other programs being better? Nah. Fact is, AutoCAD isn't meant for 3D meshing. Civil engineering and the such is it's forte. The 3D rendering is good for creating conceptual views for buildings.

If you want into the field, learn AutoCAD, Rivet, and Microstation. People crying about AutoCAD simply don't know any better.

  • Tekla is way better than AutoCAD. My dad uses it and loves how much easier, and faster it is.

  • Iam fed up with autocad every time they release new version it seems like difficult to operate. and there is no continuity of command . I am more productive in Microstation than autocad

  • helo tnx for the nice tutorial videos that u posted...ive learned a lot..

  • I have a autocad 2011 seat available for sale if anyone is interested. Im only asking 400 bucks for it. email me if you are. I live in california but can give you all the codes you need to activate remotely.

  • Selling autocad 2011, only $50 ! msg me for details

  • So i can desgin Shapes with dis porgram?

  • I have an autocad 2010 seat I am wanting to sell. Anyone need an extra seat, send me an email back. thanks

  • is autocad expensive? i'm about to start architecture in the university and i'de like to know.

  • @gnrfreak123 in the Netherlands it's around €4249,- at the moment

  • @850mb that's 42.49 right? i mean there's no way in hell it costs 4,249.

  • @gnrfreak123 autocad is over 4,000 dollars.

  • @assmongrel12321 r u kidding me! and every architect has to buy it? that makes me think really seriously if i should study it in the university.

  • it is a very useful thing for all the civil engineers

  • i am in 7th grade and we still use he 2009 version......it isnt as fun of a program as you might think it to be if you use it like its supposed to be used. for every thing you make you have to go from the design proscess to the IAM to asmble things and then from there you have to make an IDW of all the diffrent pieces......just making a decent looking cup would take two hours of good designing

  • Um no... designing a really fancy cup can take as little as 15 mins so long as you know how to use a computer and autocad. Drawing the basic 2d shape and using revolve will get you the basic 3d model. The more points you use to make the 2d, the more fine tuning you can apply to the 3d model to your liking. I make all my customized columns/railings for my buildings with this. It is a fun program too, at least for being an architect, not too keen on engineer designs myself though.

  • dufus, get a real audio card to get rid of that annoying high pitch noise

  • It's called 3ds max, not 3dmax.

  • I'll eat my shirt if any camera company has used this to design a product.

I think this would be pretty handy for making video game graphics.

Too little too late, Autodesk. I still use AutoCAD every day at work for lines, circles and text. For spacial relations, moving parts, fluid flow, stresses and strains...

    you missed the boat.

Oh, and AutoCAD never used to be glitchy. Now it crashes like everything else.

    Not pleased. Not at all.

  • @CommentClown AutoCAD is not glitchy its your computer

  • @TheGooberpeaguy

That's super. So, you are either a salesman or a delusional, wet-behind-the-ears student that just had your mind filled with crap by an out-of-touch teacher.

I've instructed for ten years, and I've used it for industry every work day since version 12. When I started teaching 2000, there were nearly zero crashes and glitches. Now I use it on desktops, laptops, superstations... you name it, I've tried it. I've had crashes on all.

I stand by my statements. Too little too late!

  • @CommentClown no im not a salesman or any thing i have AutoCAD on my computer and it works perfectly fine so what ever you say

  • @TheGooberpeaguy

I can't imagine why I'd come and make this shit up. You're a presumptuous little fuck and I feel sorry for the poor son of a bitch that is your first boss.

To cite one example... Most recently, I was creating pipe spool drawings for a plant. After several hours of work invested, I found that all of my information tables were corrupted. I re-opened a backup version and found the same problem. I took the file to a CAD station instead and found the same problem.

    For example!

  • @CommentClown o now your just going to talk shit online like a little 5 year old. o and remember save often so you dont end up getting screwed over when your done. something your doing is wrong obviously

  • @TheGooberpeaguy

You're pretty fucking thick, dude. The irony in this case is that frequent saves is what killed me. I was using auto backup and saving to two files alternately every ten minutes or so. The mess that propagated from the tables was started long before my last saves, without me knowing. So my save, my alternate save, and my auto backup were all corrupt by the time the problem was apparent.

Again, I'm focused on the fact that you don't use the software professionally.

  • @CommentClown with comments like yours I'm surprised you even had a career teaching students. You sound like a dumbass dude, chill out a little, relax, who the hell cares if the program crashes or not and who cares if someone else thinks it doesn't or does?

  • @CommentClown You're computer must be a piece then becuase AutoCAD 2010 hasn't crashed once on my 2ghz core 2 duo, 4gb ram, ATI radeon 3500, laptop.

  • isn't programs such as 3dmax, maya, lightwave, etc.. exclusively for 3d modeling? autocad is designed for engineers (civil, mechanical, etc..) and architects. it is a extremely complex piece of software. it doesn't just make pretty things.

  • Programs such as 3dmax, maya, lightwave, etc contein loads of features that are entertainment oriented beside modeling (such as lighting, texturing, animating etc.) this video shows only the modeling features of AutoCad, can you please give me an example of the prgram's other features?

    thanks.

  • I don't get it...

With sofwares like 3Dmax, Maya, Lightwave, Modo or even Zbrush, isn't this a bit... well, obsolete?...

  • Not really, Autocad has the ability to take a 2D drawing and Redraw it in 3D as well as provide detailed plans for construction. Basically Autocad is geared more toward serious engineering where as max is more geared for simulations and animations.

  • I think adding basic mesh and solid modeling was a good move, makes for a good jumping platform for 3ds Max and Inventor for Autodesk.

  • like 3dstudiomax!

  • thats cool i learn something for you :D but i wanted to see you mesh it like for example making the mesh window mullions.
