  • Bought this a while ago and am loving it sooo much

  • This looks so badass! Can't wait to buy it!

  • Great i will buy this! But one question: Is riggin described too? Sorry for my bad english, i'm german. I hope you can answer :)

  • @lkdriver22 As far as I know, it's not. It's only about modeling, focused on topology.

  • @DerPylz Thank you! I will buy the book in the blenderstore first, beacause in the book rigging is described. Then i will buy this dvd :)

  • feeling Konig influential..

  • hello! I am shubhkaran Singh,i make small short low/no budget live action films. This year we are making a war epic.I need your help!

  • Does the DVD work in Region 1?

  • mulher gostoza!!!

  • they're way way too generous to be cheated.

  • i would hit that

  • yo, foundation, i have a parenting problem in game engine, cause an enemy tank i made is always tating itself appart, when its tracked to me. please make a tutorial of how u can make multupal objects tracked tu u without peaces moving away

  • can you import other models into this? I don't want to get something that you can't import or export things, I'm picky I guess..:)

  • on a level of difficulty is this, i can model a head on maya to a realistic standard but im not familiar with the blender hotkeys and would need them mentioned during the dvd for me to follow it

  • hi, imm i just got this and when i put the dvd into my windows 7 pc it did not play and when i go into the files then videos and try to play one of them there it says Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. whats this about plz help???

  • @hutstuff156 sorry for late, try downloading VLC Media Player, it will work.

  • @TheLiam236 Buy Maya for over a thousand dollars and get a half baked tutorial with it or a couple dozen dollars for a quality tutorial for freeware?

  • Blenderella is so sexy... I had to buy her! Is it okay to be turned on by a CG character? Regardless, this is one good-looking model. I also picked up Sintel Box-Set, and Yo-Frankie. The Sintel Box-Set extras are mindblowing ! Loved it !

  • wow great :)

  • The dvd is awesome, just buy it, you will not be dissappointed! Best tutorial ever. :)

  • just ordered mine :D

  • screw writing a book i'm animating the movie

  • @superdupermudhead u need a story b4 u make da movie :P

  • @XFiAudigy All set I have a plot for five books, all in the same series ,which I am currently writing.

  • @superdupermudhead Because learning to animate and actually animating will take too long

  • you can stand under my blenderella. rella. rella. eh. eh. you can stand under my blenderella. rella. rella. eh. eh. eh. eh. eh. eh.

  • @superdupermudhead the only thing u do is trying to make top comments? lol:p

  • @nuqpen True

  • Aneta

  • Awesome! Ordered my DVD yesterday. I'm hoping it'll be as good as people have been saying.

  • Cute >:D

  • asdasdasdasdadadasdasdasd

  • Got it! Amazing dvd!

  • @MrIhaveacat High Poly

  • low or high poly?

  • i have to say i do own this product and it's very impressive very good tut for people new to 3d.

  • OMG!!! She has fingernails!!! And eyelids!!! (but no color...) I'm feeling that my blender skills are pathetic now...

  • How about you NOT torrent the dvd and pay money to support an organization that gives you free 3D software?

  • @LordPutnaj Considering that is a Creative Commons DVD, I would ask, How about donating to the organization that created it after you downloaded and enjoyed their work? Seriously, people, the basic of all this Creative Commons and Free Software thing is SHARING. And, by the way, if you download an then donate, all the money goes to the foundation instead of stupid things like shipping cargo.

  • @Jossandoval I wasn't aware it was released under Creative Commons. I stand corrected. =D

  • @LordPutnaj no!

  • @LordPutnaj Creative commons license means you should download it and then send the Blender Foundation some money.

  • @LordPutnaj If you like Blender you'll HAVE TO BUY the dvd since by purchasing this DVD you support the Blender Foundation

  • @LordPutnaj Yeah you have a point but nearly £30 for 1 tutorial is it realy worth it???

  • @TheLiam236 it should worth it, it show you how to make a character the right way like a professional, and after that you could know how to make YOUR character.

  • @TheLiam236 are you kidding?? a full complex tutorial to made a character from scratch to the rendered model?? indeed it is! and even it it wasn't and it could cost some bucks less Blender is FREE, it could cost hundeds/thousands bucks!

  • @TheLiam236 It has several hours of HD video with HD reference pictures, it is made by professionals, just look at the quality of the model, can you really not afford £30.00? Blender is a free program and covers a wider aspect then most other programs do, the price is for support

  • @LordPutnaj Too late only 1 hour to go. umad bro?

  • @kurazaz One hour to go for what? And if you read my further replies, I didn't realize the Blenderella videos were released under CC. So I'm not mad, bro.

  • @LordPutnaj loool pretty righteous there :P

  • some videos do not need any dislikebutton

  • I'm looking forward to purchasing your training DVD!

  • I'd do her...

  • @nazurea the usual trolls that's all.

  • Damn! why would someone dislike this!!

  • For the price, this is the best tutorial I've seen anywhere on modeling the human body. Very in-depth but it also fast forwards through tedious parts that you don't need to watch in real-time. I would highly recommend this video. I only wish they went into shaders and textures... maybe they'll make that dvd in the future.

  • That looks so sweet!

  • Is this DVD any good?

It would have been good to see an actual demo of the lessons so that I can get an idea of how the instructor explains stuff. Showing me a time-lapse of a model is kinda pointless when you're trying to sell a tutorial... I want to make sure I'll be able to follow the DVD.

  • but will it blend?

  • Good model, good tips

but my eyes explode after the timelaps :-)

  • Just ordered mine!

    Hope it arrives!!!

  • can you animate with that?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAQW1 Oh yes! Yes you can...

With Blender, you could model, rig, animate, sculpt, composite, edit, texture, and so much more!

Lol... Sound like endorsing, but it's true...

  • Is anyone else having trouble with playing the tutorials?

I can't get the tutorials to play, can someone tell me how to fix that problem?

  • ohhh why cant this be PPV on netflix :(

can you guys put it on youtube pay to view videos?

  • @demonwolfdawg you can just download it as bittorrent. and yes that's legal. (the DVD is licensed under a Creative Commons license)

  • @gorogawa where?

    I cant find it...

    (mind PM'ing me a link?)

  • @demonwolfdawg just try searching for Blenderella on FilesTube . com or any other file/torrent search engine.

  • @gorogawa NOTHING comes up

would have been easy as shit for you to PM the link

    I prefer torrent

  • @demonwolfdawg I hadn't looked for it when you asked, that's why I didn't PM you. Now that I found it and downloaded it, I'm PMing you.

God! Must you be so mean?

  • @gorogawa I never ruled out that you might not have looked for it.

  • @demonwolfdawg Actually, I went to download it right after seeing your comment. I just didn't want to send you an unconfirmed download like that of the CGMasters Ninja DVD with the missing files. Plus, I kinda hoped more people would know where to download it from if I post that on the video. Now that I PM'd you, would you please stop acting like a jerk?

  • @gorogawa so there's a torrent for this? can I please have the link? I'm pretty new to blender.

  • @gorogawa what are hash codes? (sorry, computers and me don't get along.)

  • @12345franny Sorry if I confused you. I'll send you a private message in a sec.

  • Did someone receive his copy?

I ordered 3 weeks ago and still nothing.

Blender eshop says "shipped" since 2 weeks but the presentation page of the product says "shipping start early may".

    I don't understand what "shipped" meant ?

  • awesomeness

  • Shes beautiful.I know that sounds really creepy but she is a very well designed model.

  • Can you guys PLEASE make a tutorial on how to make your makehuman character have clothes? Please Thanks! It'd be awsome if you could! Thank you.

  • @qweasdzxc12330 export to blender and model the clothes

  • @demonwolfdawg

I know but like I'm having trouble modeling the clothes so like.. Please help!

  • @qweasdzxc12330 select the verts in a shape of clothing, dupe, size, reshape in any way you want.

  • Just awesome... Sublime

  • stunning modeling

    congrats Angela !

  • Maybe that one who disliked this video is a 3DS fan...

    I like it :)

  • I want this DVD already. :(

  • This is pretty much as good as a model can get.

  • a dislike? REALLY? The only people who watch this (or should watch this) are people who will like it.

  • It's been nine days! Where is it??

  • Amazingly life-like modern day sculturing. Michelangelo eat your heart out. As a beginner, once I get a grasp of basic modeling & animation technicalities, I'll probably order this video. I made one character following an old tutorial but if life was breathed into it, it wouldn't thank me. Knowing how is one thing but doing it well is another. I hope one comes out for the male physique too, but it would be as popular as Blenderella.

  • @minchiozzo I'm sorry that Blender has a small development team with limited time on their hands, I'm just grateful that these kind developers make this program open source for all of us to use.

  • omfg you are super proooooo !!!

  • who take there one dislike !!!

This is the best human create in blender what I ever saw

    (sory for my english)

  • @minchiozzo Yes they do, you and MrBeastDesign are bringing up a lot of good points. But I'm pretty sure that the blender developers know what they're fellow programs are doing. I'm also sure that they would like to make blender with these features or better ones, so I would also think they would get annoyed when critics say things like "this is tool is bad, X's is so much better than this". It's good to state what's needs improvement, but when you state what is known it gets redundant.

  • @KXILite Indeed they do. And that's why the whole redesign of Blender was necessary. But Blender isn't actually trying to compete with the big apps to be accepted at the big studios. Instead the target is the small and medium sized pro studios and freelancers. And @minchiozzo: You will have your n-gons sooner than you think. They've been working on a new meshmodelling system called B-mesh for quite a while now. But first they have to get the new design Blender 2.5 ready and stable.

  • @hijtohema Hi, they work on ngon from too many time, and at today nothing. the cycle is really long, in the meantime, other software designed for freelance and studio (Modo, Lightwave, Cinema) doing big steps in their field. Aside blender gratuitousness, what is the best blender characteristic? I don't see a strong point (actually). I would like see blender kick ass Autodesk, but the way is really long (and hard) before Blender has what software like XSI has today.

  • @minichiozzo I don't mean to but in but, tomato tomato. You use what you want, I use what I use. That's all and thank you.

  • @KXILite As I wrote, the blind Blender user mind... In Luxology forum, so XSIbase, no one has problem to discuss about the lack field of the software. Blender user look instead pretty close, don't accept any critics, say only "Blender don't need nothing, it is the best, perfect and other software user cannot understood". I'm a blender user, from 2.42, brought (support) Blender foundation DVD and some books, and know where blender lack and where is strong. Repeat, critics help blender.

  • 1 dislike means that 1 Maya, Sotfimage, or 3Ds Max user is mad they paid 300 dollars for software thinking that they got ahead in the 3D at world when blender users can catch up for free. Either that or there's 1 blender user whose just pissed off he can't use blender. lol

  • @RontheHybrid I don't understood your sentence (sorry I'm not english), but blender CANNOT DOING this: ww(dot)vimeo(dot)com/10941211

No one professional artist as I know work in blender. No one are stupid, and many are great artist (give a search about vitaly bulgarov). Maya has ngon (and so a decent knife tool) ten years ago, at to day blender don't have (oh, and don't have global illumination, micropolygons...)

  • @minchiozzo Seriously, don't speak about things you have no idea about, what RontheHybrid said wasn't really fair but what you said weren't much better either.

  • @MrBeastDesign That was a rough comment I left,my bad, but Man I can't see why anyone would not like this video. To do something like this after using programs like Maya, this girl is a beast. There's no ngons in Blender and this woman proves that its all about the skill not the software. I just wish people will stop hating on the Blender community. I'll become a full time Maya user soon, but chances are I'll still be using blender for something and supporting artists who rooted from blender.

  • @RontheHybrid Hey, I like the video :) All respect for the artist, don't misunderstood me. I'm a freelance, and my primary app is XSI, IMHO the best software (for workflow, stability and feature) but I take an eye on blender and its development. I like blender community but hate their "Blender is perfect" attitude. Blender is not perfect and many task is really odd if you well know software like XSI or Maya. After take habit at XSI capability cannot turn back to Blender.

  • @MrBeastDesign Hi. I'm a Blender user from 2.42 release, abandoned it at 2.48 I continue to support Blender foundation (I have Blender essential and many their DVD, the last one was Sintel Box).

I'm sure Blender don't have ngon, and ngon permit to use many too useful tool (like a real knife), so edit a complex mesh in blender is a pain. You have not see the Video I posted, take time and look it, cannot doing the some in blender, this is true, if you say no, simply don't know the facts

  • @minchiozzo The thing is that it is all a matter of workflow and preference. If you are experienced with Blender and not with Maya there is no reason for switching to Maya. If you are experienced with Maya and not with Blender there is no reason for switching to Blender.

The reason why Blender is used less by professionals is mostly that other tools are taught at Art Schools (where most profis come from) and the prejudice that something free can't be as good as something for much money.

  • @MrBeastDesign Agree only in part. As I wrote, look vimeo video I posted, and tell me if you can doing the some in blender (you cannot). I was a Blender user (illustration) for about three years. I switch to XSI for pure curiosity after a FAcerobot demo and Vitaly Bulgarov DVD from gnomon. After two week of pure pain, I start learning well the new software. The difference is too high (performance and speed).

Blender is nice, and can do good jobs, but some commercial software are too better IMO

  • @minchiozzo What's your problem then, if Maya is better to you then use it, there is no problem with that. If people prefer Blender then let them. There is no reason for fighting about it, both are good, both are usable, both are different, both are prefered by different persons.

I don't really want to discuss about the video because that would just end up in those endless flamewars about $X is better than $Y because it has $Z.

  • @MrBeastDesign I have not any problem. I was curios why the artist in this video prefer blender, can be?

After this a blender user say how stupid are the artist who brought and use commercial software... so start the discussion.

I think other softaware are better, but respect the other idea. I don't see the problem if anyone talk about blender lack (it is no perfect, as not perfect is maya). The blender user attitude "Blender is perfect the best and no need nothing" don't help at all blender

  • @minchiozzo I understand Maya has more features but having more features makes the program easier, I've used it. So by Artists using Blender with has fewer features, by time they upgrade to Maya it'll be 10X easier. But Maya users would have a harder time using blender than a blender user using Maya cause Blender doesn't have such easy shortcuts like ngons. Not dissing Maya users because I'll be one soon, it's just a fact that you don't need top software to be a good modeler.

  • @RontheHybrid You don't need to use all Maya or XSI feature, you use what you need. When you will take habit at Maya tool, will be really difficult turn back to Blender. Every Software has a strength point (XSI has powerful animation and modelling tool, 3dsm the best render plugin and so on), Why an artist must work with Blender? the only reason, actually is because Blender is free, I don't see any other strongest points. When will be a mature app (3, or 4 year in future) then will discus again

  • Jaw dropping stuff. Yet one more reason to be addicted to Blender :)

  • AWESOME!

  • Angela Guinette worked with maya and softimage. I cannot turn back after learning the power softimage modelling tools . I would ask why she prefer blender for his modelling needs.

  • Is the tutorial in Osx?

  • @mobilefreek The tutorial is for Blender, which runs on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows (And FreeBSD, and sometimes IRIX). So yes.

  • Great Angella! i hope this will be very helpfull for 3d modellers. As a painter i envy the your 3d skills .and finally a woman teaches us like in the school.with a sweet voice and professional probed advices

  • It's amazing how real and natural it looks... wow

  • Can we see a preview of the actual instruction with commentary please?

  • The albun of music is "L'autre endroit".

It cost me to find it. xD

  • What is the level needed to succesfully follow this DVD? I'm afraid it's a little bit advanced for the occasional user. I want to learn modelling but, despite the fact I have learned "the tools", I can't barely model anything more complex than a jar or a glass.

  • Angela, did you narrate yourself? I was very impressed of your good voice in a sintel video, very clear!

    Carsten

  • Meh demands more power to the thighs! Enough skinny gals in this universe.

  • ordered it this morning

  • This will help me when I'm making people for my film.

  • Excellent work! I definitely will be picking this up when its released! Just curious, what is the poly count on Blenderella? Could she be used in the Game Engine for Blender 2.56?

  • @sketche99 Base meshes with subdivision off is about 24,000 faces. Model quality is created for animated film, but you should be able to create a low res poly model for a game engine with a bit of work.

  • haha, Blenderella :D

  • awesome!)

  • wow the anatomy, whoever made this knows the human body well :)

  • That is one for the library for sure!

  • blender is best long live blender!!!

  • Ok, Ok, Ok, So, I have to model the armour as part of the body? I was modeling some character and then modeling the armour as a separate mesh....

Hm, I guess i still have a lot to learn, eh?

  • @osmodivs you could do both, but in one piece is easiest for animation :) , and trust me, with blender, you've always got something to learn.

  • pls pls pls who made the beat must know !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Angela's topology rocks. Seriously. You don't realize how much until you model a human (including hands, face and ears) by hand yourself and have to try and clean up your own mistakes. That's when you see the pure beauty of how she pulls topology off. Bow before the master.

  • YES, original quality

thanks for making use of it, my tv is huuuuuuuuuuuuge

  • colour coding my loops .....why the hell didn't i think of that -__-

anyway looks amazing gonna get it

  • Oh my days, I could have done with this DVD a few months back! Awesome

  • Awesome and great price too. $35.52 USD for over 40 hours. That is sweet.

  • @onjoFilms Okay, I just saw 40 hours with timelapse, 9 hours running, still a great deal.

  • Now, that's a good looking dvd, the result is excellent, have been waiting for angela tutorials!

  • Awesome i wiil buy it!!

  • I think i gonna buy it!!!

  • awesome, I love you BlenderFoundation! :D

  • Awesome stuff, Angela's models always kick ass.

    Can't wait!

  • all I can say is... ;O

  • i wish it had a more user friendly interface

  • @zARCADEz What exactly don't you like about the new interface?

Btw, It's not the final final. It is still gonna change, but bugtracking is the primary thing atm.

  • @KeistasZmogelis does it have a new interface? the last time i used blender was last year so im not aware of any improvements made, is there a new version out?

  • @zARCADEz yes there is an new blender version (2.5 last one was 2.4), its still in beta but its stable so, yeah

  • @zARCADEz Were you using Blender 2.5 (It was in alpha a year ago) or Blender 2.49?

Blender 2.5 is a complete recode of blender and has a new GUI and many many other huge improvements (Faster rendering, powerful sculpting, new animation system etc)....

Currently 2.5 is in beta, but the first stable release is coming in a few weeks.

    Best wishes.

  • impressive

  • good good good
