  • holla if you watched star blazers on TV after school in the late 70's

  • one thing you have to respect about the japanese is their pride in the yamato.

  • Прикольный мультик.

  • 1:00 IMA FIRIN' MAH LAZOR!

  • Yamato always returns. :)

  • they forgot the part where the British sent in Bi Planes with Torpedos and hit the rudder and then they sent in the fleet.

  • He said Semen

  • I lol'd

  • ha ha....my step dad loves this anime. he actually didn't know it was anime until i told him...

  • the Japanese ships were not equip with radar so even if it was a big ship that just makes it a bigger target for enemy air craft but we could argue hypothetically about shit all day so lets just end it now

  • No point aruguing which battleship is better cause it just won't happen...

  • as stated before in other comments this is not all SBY footage....@1:30 that footage is (IIRC) from the Read Or Die OVA @ 0:24 that actually IS SBY Footage just a bit tricky to find because it's like trailer/special feature footage 0:54 is clearly SBY so I assume you mean just after that scene at 0:54 which is Space Pirate Captain Herlok til about 1:00 and at 1:07 the guys being rescued is from Neon Genesis Evangelion hope that answers your question.

  • Whats the Anime with a Modern US fleet In it and a US Nimitz Class carrier in it at 1:30 also how come some of these SBY clips ive never seen before? 0:24 0:54 - 1:00 1:07 ect Are they from Season 3 or somthing?

  • I know it was just an anime, but ... I kinda had a thought for the sailors of all the WW2 Navies.

  • just a fact the main reason the Bismark was so scary is because it's 1st shot went down the barrel of another battleship and sunk it i one shot. I Think

  • @thedictatorfan Actually the Hood was hit several times the fatal hit was to the main powder magazine. At 25,000 yards a shot down the barrel of the Hoods gun would have been next to impossible.

  • just a fact the main reason the Bismark was so scary is because it's 1st shot went down the barrel of another battleship and sunk it i one shot.

  • What animes are in this I know starblazers is one of them.

  • this is a good vid who is the guy with the tea cup at 1: 28 this is a good amv

i never saw the anime is it any good?

    great amv loved it

  • This is truly a great video, as I've commented on once before....................... For all those here at You Tube "Who Don't Have Anything Good To Say About It, Don't say Anything At All"!!!!!................... And Go To Some Damn Political Posting and Vent but, stay away from us fun loving Otaku and Historian's!!!!!!

  • geeez this could go on forever!!!! they were all awesome in their own way....

  • here's some trivia

who, in nazi germany, was known as the second bismark

  • @seen92 no I don't "get it, got it, good" the song happens to be old. that doesn't make it "predictably lame for what's supposed to be an amv" This song is what MAKES this AMV. Seems to me you don't have a clue when it comes to AMV's Space Battleship Yamato is an excellent show for it's time and the footage can be used with this song to tell the story of the story of the Bismark. so whats the problem? you just don't like the song? Suggest a better song then that tells this story.

  • @seen92 do you have ANY idea what an AMV IS???

  • What an odd song to put to an anime.

  • @ViewtifulM ... I thought it was a great idea.... creative editing... It tells its story and is highly enjoyable.

  • @ViewtifulM Starcruiser Yamato and her crew is playing the Bismark. From Starblazer's ( Starcruiser Yamato ), Read or Die, Kamikaze Stories, and Neon Genesis Evangelion depicts very well what happened to the Bismark. From destroying the Hood (Capt. Herlock's Ship), getting its rudder jammed from Fairey Swordfish Torpedo Planes ( TBF Avenger's from Kamikaze Stories ),HMS King George 5th & Rodney blasting her (Iowa Class Ships from Neon Genesis). you should watch "History Channel" more often.

  • @narutofightindreamer I just thought it was a rather odd song to use in an amv. Not that I didn't understand it. It is not like it is the most well known song, and certainly not one that I expected to hear.

  • Churchill for the win.

  • The song to this video made me chuckle :)

  • bizmark the best ship? lmao!! the yamato would have sunk her with ease.superior crew and firepower!!!

  • @MrYamato67

    I totally agree...

  • talk about supperiour crew. the only thing the jap crew was better at was staying in port. firepower, supperiour yes, ut more inaccurate too. with some 15(something like that) the bismarck gained 6 hits in the battle of denmark strait. 2 on hood and 4 on prince of wales. that is accurate for guns that were guided not by radar(as that was knoked out by bismarcks own guns before the battle) and you cant call yamato the best cause she never faced her own kind.

  • While the American carrier USS Enterprise could have sunk them both.

  • just read a glorious way to die and see what it took to sink the yamato!! several air strikes,20 torpedos and hours of heavy gunfire,i really doubt the enterprise by herself could have accomplished it...

  • @MagC5768 The USS Enterprise wasn't quite complete yet by this date. It would've had to be the Original Lexington or Saratoga for a carrier. I still think it would've been very intersting to see the North Carolina or the Colorado against the Bismark..........

  • @MagC5768 And here comes the americunt propaganda. go home already.

  • @Weemancake FYI The creator of this video (that would be me) happens to be an "americunt" so you can shut the f#ck up... and if you chose not to play nice you will get blocked. and all your posts removed.

  • @Weemancake , you are obviously quite stupid by labeling this as "americunt propaganda" because firstly your language and terminology shows that my two year old niece acts more mature than you, the second reason is that this song isn't American. Yes it is made by Johnny Horton, an American musician...about the British fleet fighting the German ship, the Bismark.

Now please shut up and go away unless you plan on saying something intelligent about this. I happen to like this particular video.

  • @Weemancake racist Kraut.

  • @gungasc

  • @gungasc sure. now get outta here.

  • @Weemancake make me.

  • @gungasc Your ignorance amuses me.

You say im a racist "Kraut"

In that case Heil Hitler and death to all christians.

    Happy now?

  • @Weemancake Humor me more please.

  • @gungasc this comment is so worthless, yet more worth than your life.

  • @Weemancake ohhh nice insult, lol like i care what some idiot is saying behind a screen.

  • @gungasc Funny, how you "dont care" yet here you are telling me.

But meh, it doesnt come unexpected, most americans are stupid as hell anyway, arent they now?

  • @Weemancake you commenting makes you as stupid. LoL! I guess it is true what they say about germans.

  • @gungasc 1: Im not actualy German.

2: I never said i didnt care, so theres no irony. What is your point?

Yeah, you really are stupid! Good job confirming it!

  • @Weemancake 1. You put Germany as your country. 2.Either you're a liar or some retard who dosen't know how to properly fill out answers to questions. God damn you're stupid

  • @gungasc 1: I only did this because at the time of making my account, my country wasnt available in the list yet.

2: Youre using a mental disease as an insult, this makes you look stupid.

3: "God damn", im so tired of people using religious words to boost what theyre trying to say. Its stupid.

4: How am i not "properly" filling out answers to questions? It seems dont know shit about anything so i can just go on and on with answers because you might aswell have asked.

  • @Weemancake tell me how you really feel, bro.

  • @gungasc Amused.

  • @MrYamato67

Hell, the Bismarcks shells would flatten against Yamatos armour. It was just a sniper ship.

Lutjens: I choose Bismarck. It will kill your ship, its the most powerful warship in the world, i accept your challenge .

Yamamoto : I choose Yamato (and it will kick your ass).

Now lutjens had never seen yamato before

    Bismarck arrived. And waited.

A ship comes through the mist.

Lutjens clicking his button to turn the ship around: Oh shit, ich bin so gefickt

  • @MrYamato67 when the Bismark was built, the Yamato wasn't finished, so technically, yes, the Bismark was the biggest ship of her (short) time

  • @Soundwave3591 Would've been interesting to see how the USS Colorado would've faired against the Bismark.

  • @MrYamato67 Just as well that Germany and Japan were on the same side, eh?

  • @kapparomeo Just talking ship against ship! The yamato is my favorit ship both original and the space battleship. The bizmarck was specaal in her own right...

  • @MrYamato67

Meh ... Superior crew ? With which criteria ? Fire power doesn't make all.

Not to mention the fact that with such a bigger hull, firing at the Yamato and missing it is impossible.

    The happy Kriegsmarine boy ;-)

  • @Briselance And your point is?? The bismark was sunk quick! The yamato on the other hand took forever not counting the torpedeos, bombs etc....Just pointing out the yamato was a superior ship!!!

  • @MrYamato67

The Bismarck was sunk quick ?! The first attack was launched in the afternoon of the 26th of may 1941, with the Bismarck being sunk at about 10H00 am on the 27th. Do you call it quick ?

Not to mention the fact that the German sailors scuttled their ship before trying to get to the life-boats, which explained why she sank quickly. And what about the British ships that fired at the Bismarck ? All the R.N. ships available at that time were sent into the fight.

  • @Briselance Lol!! its obvious you like the bismark and i the Yamato! We could debate this forever, they were both powerful battlewagons that ruled the seas for a time!! cheers.....

  • @MrYamato67 still got sunk

  • @MrYamato67 jajajaja but the Yamato never sank a ship jajajaa

  • @MrYamato67

and then we sunk the Yamato

  • @USMarineRifleman0311 yes we did. but it took us over 40 bombs and 30 torpedo's to do so. and lost several planes in the process (cuz thats all that was used to destroy yamato. dont remember the number of planes lost) dont discredit it. it died as it wanted to, fighting to the last moment

  • @warhawk9566 Precisely. It's been a long time since America has had an enemy that challenged us like Japan did. The Japanese Empire was poised to launch an invasion of mainland America, even, though it was ruled as too costly and dangerous due to the prospect of civilian militia opposition. In the end, our enemies fought and died for the same reason we did: they loved their nation and hated her enemies.

  • @ZakkLamm they didnt hate america many japanese soldiers loved america or at least didnt hate it and thought a war was a bad idea. but they would rather defend thier nation and their families in their nation than stay in america or stay at home and not help whatsoever. and japan wouldnt have invaded mainland us cuz they didnt want the land. they just wanted asia (china, korea, indochina) and the pacific ocean and islands. they had several chances to take alaska but never did.

  • No allie ship can never match the best ship in the world

    BIZMARK ..........:)

  • Actually well after the Bismark was sunk America built the IOWA class Battleships. each of which which is easily outclassed the Bismark. also the Japanese, tho not allied, had the Yamato class Battleships which with their 18 inch guns would have torn the Bismark up as well. I appreciate your undying love for one of your motherlands crowning achievements however FACTS cannot simply be discarded simply because you wish they were not true.

  • @sideswipe147 18.1 inch guns ( sorry you hate me for being very technical )

  • @redtail72 lol I don't mind the correction but it's actually

18.110236 in to be precise... or we could just say 46 cm but hey whose counting...

  • @sideswipe147 lol

  • Why does the video show an inaccurate rendition of the sinking of the Yamato?

  • because it's not supposed to be about the sinking of the Yamato it's about the Sinking of the Bismark.... If you actually took the time to pay attention to the video (INCLUDING THE SONG LYRICS) you would have known that....

  • @Praetonia to answer your question...this Anime was made before the Yamato's remains were discovered, so they didn't know she was in pieces yet. And, like many wrecks, people like to believe they are still intact, with only minor damage. look at anything about Titanic made before she was found, and you'll see what i mean. plus, the story required the Yamato to be in one piece, so what the hey.

  • I have a question: What Anime is the "Hood" from? It looks kind of Like Star Blazers...

  • The Hood should look similar to Starblazers

its From "Space Pirate Captain Herlock." which if i'm not mistaken is from the same creator as starblazers.

  • Wait, something is confusing me. The space Yamato movies all take place in the future, right? Yet how are American Iowa class battleships, Nimitz class carriers and Avenger torpedo bombers involved? I dont get it.

  • Some scenes in Episode 2 take place when the Captain tells the story of the Yamato. so those scenes are from when it first Sank.

  • Ok, that explains the Avengers, but not the Iowas (Yamato was sunk by planes) or the Nimitz class carriers (Not in commission yet)

  • the Iowas and Nimitz's are from a scene in Neon Genesis Evangelion. the Iowa's use their guns to destroy one of the Angels.

  • actually most of the carrier footage is from "Read Or Die" not "Evangelion" but that's just being nit picky tho there IS one sequence with the carrier from Eva... i think you are really thinking WAY more into this than you really need to be.

  • umm this video is telling the story of a WWII battle not some epic space battle... listen to the words of the song it clearly starts out...

In May of 1941 the war had just begun. The Germans had the biggest ship that had the biggest guns. Etc Etc... It's screative editing to make the footage all look like the epic sea battle that resulted in the sinking of the bismark.

  • Sorry, its just that I got confused over the footage itself, not the story you put together, that's all.

You said that the footage was from the space Yamato series, which I know takes place in the future, I was just confused about the other stuff.

    Sorry about that

  • no appologies needed in fact i am more sorry than anything for being snippy about it. must have been having a bad day.

  • @frankydman their form R.O.D.(read or die)

  • Starship Yamato as the "Bismark"........The Iowa Class Battleship's as the "King George 5th & the Rodney".........TBF Avenger Torpedo Planes as the "Fairey-Swordfish"........The bad guy from R.O.D. as "Prime Minister Winston Churchill".......

  • anything worth doing is worth doing right! you know?

  • WOW, Just WOW, I See Starblazers/Yamato And Harlock Saga, But The Other Naval Scenes Escape Me, Which Ones Are They?

i Read On Another Comment That The "Churchill" Figure Is From "Read Or Die".

  • churchill is from read or die as well as many of the other naval scenes... there are also some clips from Neon Genesis Evangelion. if you want to know a specific clip ask me (providing a time marker) and i can tell you where it's from

  • Thankyou For The Information

  • cool amv and with starblazers also other anime show how many are they?

you get from me 5 star rating

  • as i recall i used 5 shows or so there abouts

Yamato (starblazers) Herlock, Eva, R.O.D, and Elfen Lied. if i recall correctly...

  • aha... but it still very good :D

  • Outstanding. You are proof that Johnny Horton is still cool after all these years and that his music can be used in such a way as you have here. Excellent work. 5 stars and faved.

  • Bismark: played by the Starcruiser Yamato.........HMS Hood: played by Captain Herlock's Ship..........HMS King George 5th & Rodney: played by the Iowa Class..........Fairey Swordfish Torpedo Planes: played by the TBF Avenger's...........Oh yes and the Villain from "Read Or Die": playing Prime Minister "Sir Winston Churchill"

  • yes but as was stated in the previous comment.... Capt Herlock's ship is called the Arcadia

I give you props for all the rest....

  • Nicely done. For some reason, my favorite part is the use of the Arcadia as HMS Hood.

  • that song is too catchy

  • Indeed, I agree with you!!

  • LOL it's a really old song too...

  • Patton, McAurther, Yamamoto, Rommel, they were indeed ancient warriors in their honor and thought, but shoved into a modern version of Imperialism. That sadly shouldn't have still been around ( imperialism that is ). And sadly still very much does exist to this day.

  • you know when I made this video I never imagined it would evoke such philosophical discussion....

  • I can imagine this did indeed surprise you a little. It certainly would me. I wonder if many of the folks watching your video and commenting know who "Johnny Horton" was prior to this. I hope them watching this will inspire them to look up other works by Horton. And read into his truly intriguing and somewhat sceary life of being pre-destined for such a violent death and short life. Despite the fact that he was a clean living gentleman, who shyed away from drugs, booze, and womanizing.

  • that goes really well with the song, eh?

    nice ob

  • *job

  • thanx thats what i was going for but so many people have read so deeply into this video I am surprised

  • great song and video! what show is that

  • the footage comes mostly from Starblazers AKA Space Battleship Yamato however there is also footage from R.O.D ova, Neon Genesis Evangellion, Elfen Lied, my neighbor totoro, and space pirate capt harlock... I think that's it... so there ya go...

  • Sideswipe147, basically what Supercorvette said was, " The English lost the Hood to the Bismarck.

Why would you then sing a little song about this action? It is embarrassing. Because it took a huge British fleet to sink a single Battleship ".

I'm not taking part in an argument, just translating what was said.

  • THANKYOU... I had NO idea what he said and i tried to run it thru babblefish and got more or less gibberish....

    Thankyou tor the translation...

  • Glad to help, my friend.

  • The only thing ol' Johnny Horton left out of the song. Was the part about the old obsolete "Swordfish" Torpedo Planes crippling her by jamming her rudder beyond repair.........We could have "Spike Spiegal" being the pilot of a "Fairey Swordfish" instead of his futuristic one.....They worked a little joke into the climax of "Cowboy BeBop: The Movie" on this one.....The three old guys, "Didn't we sink that Battleship the Bismark in one of these?" "No no you old fool, that was World War II!"

  • The song lyrics told a surprisingly accurate tale of Bismark. I studied the history of that ship and it happened pretty much like that.

The reason why Bismark was found was because the captain tried to contact Germany and his transmission was intercepted. If they had stayed silent they may have managed to get home undetected.

Bismark was claimed to be unsinkable and was destroyed on his maiden voyage. Sounds familiar?

  • well it took a fleet to do it, for a fast attack battleship, damn impressive if you ask me

  • Indeed. Bismark's reign of terror may have been short lived but it certainly gained a reputation for it.

  • INDEED!

  • INDEED!

  • LOL....

  • There's a moral to that story.

Everytime some politicial or tycoon claims "Unsinkable"

    god replies "Oh Really?"

  • Maybe they should claim them to be "sinkable," and God wouldn't let them sink!

  • but you understand what i mean?

  • yes, I was just making a joke

  • *Naval Officer Salute* I watched this video and I have to say that I'm impressed. I'm looking forward to whatever else you will be doing.

  • NCO returns salute smartly. Thank you, I am certainly glad you enjoyed it. i have some more videos in the works and one ready for upload. That video has yet to premiere tho... err at least I don't think it has yet.

Sorry, I don't understand.

  • I finally got a translation on what you wrote... If I'm not mistaken the song was written as a Propaganda song to illustrate the fact that the Bismark while Impressive and, formidable it was not Invulnerable. Really It required most of the ships and planes to find it more so than to sink it, but it was the symbolism... If it was possible to sink the mighty Bismark than it was also possible to defeat Germany. HUGE for moral of the troops and folks back home. Also makes for a good history song

  • yes of course

but the defeat of germany was not an results of taktiks or strategys the only way to win was to overwhelm the germans with mass of soldirs or ships and planes

when I and 5 other guys go to lambaste another person

who i am then ? An Hero or an coward ?

We heafe lost the War and i think it was good. but i dont like things they never happened

  • I agree to an extent. Patton was no joke on the battlefield...

tho I have the highest respect for Rommel. One of the greatest battlefield commanders ever. Omaha and (I believe) Utah beaches were the best defended at Normandy. Their defenses were both designed by Rommel.

If many people suffer at the hand of one man. Then are not many people saved, by killing one man? Is this not a true case of the sword that kills is the sword that gives life?

Hero or coward? Depends on your point of view.

  • I dont write about herros like patton, montgomery or Rommel

I think at situations like two german battle ships against a royal navy fleet

or 1.530.000 Allied soldiers against 380,000 Germans

at the landing in the normandy

  • You might want to check your numbers mate, 156,000 allied soldiers landed at Normandy.

  • Patton wanted to fight Rommel tank to tank (I think), like ancient warriors as Aquilles & Hector to minimize casualties in their battle. That was a very chivalrious & romantic idea that never came to pass, fortunally for Patton (I could have put my money on Rommel on that one given the better German tanks at the time). Imagine if Bush and Bin Laden had metg for individual combat to end the War of Terror, not the most exciting main event to end this stupid war they both started/ made worse.

  • Das ist kein britisches Lied. Vom Akzent her klingt's eher amerikanisch.

Und was heißt hier peinlich?

  • joa

    ok

  • UMMMmmm... can i get a translation on this please?

  • Yes, of course ... apologies. SUPERCORVETTE remarked that it is quite embarrassing for the Brits that they had to sail the 'entire navy' just to sink one German battleship, and that this must mean that the Royal Navy isn't quite so invincible after all ... to which I replied that there is nothing embarrassing about the fact that the Brits left nothing to chance and that, given a similar situation, the Germans would have done exactly the same.

  • Yes, we're all well aware that the ship featured at the begining is indeed "The Yamato". We need not to be told this obvious fact. But, I do indeed compliment you on your knowlwdge of the two ships specs.... Yamato is playing the role of the Bismark.... Missouri and Iowa are playing thye role of the King George 5th and Rodney.....Captain Harlock's ship is filling in for the Hood......and last but not least the TBF Avenger Torpedo planes are playing the Fairey Swordfish's part!

  • which is exactly why its called a lesson in world history its an AMV but its more or less historically accurate... allowing for some degree of Creative license here and there

  • THAT IS IJN YAMATO 9 tubes and 3 guns in front, and 6 tubes and 2 guns in the back and not a super laser. Bismarck has 4 tubes and 2 guns in the front and 4 tubes and 2 guns in the back and not a super laser. they got AA guns and smaller guns on the side to !!!!!!!!

  • Good Ol' Johnny Horton. I never thought some creative individual could put Star Cruiser Yamato and Neon Genesis Evangelion amounst others to "Sink the Bismark". Horton himself could be a good model for an off the beaten path "Anime Hero". He definitely walked his own path. Even the way he went out was very prophetic and slightly sceary.

  • One of the saddest things, I think, is how the invent of the airplane effectively made the battleship an obsolete war machine. I find them somewhat noble for an inexplicable reason, especially the Bismarck, even today many non-nuclear warships are hard pressed to make 31 knots even in the best condition. When I was aboard the USS Dewert FFG 45 the fastest we went in my whole 3 years was 31 knots over ground because of the golf stream and an emergency we were responding to.

  • i realise most of the clips are from starblazers and harlock... but what are the animes at: 0:10 0:45 1:10 1:30?

    that's some newer animation

thanks and a nice vid :)

  • at time 0::10 was Evangellion also at time 0:45 at time 1:10 i believe is still starblazers unless i mis timed it when i checked it. and at time 1:30 is a combo if starblazers R.O.D (Read or Die) and Evangellion. I highly recommend Read or Die it is an excellent show tho i suggest the OVA more than the TV show or at least the OVA first then the TV show. sorry for the delay in responce i dont check on here much

  • what about 2:16?

that can't be yamato or evangelion

    R.O.D perhaps or?

  • at time 2:16 those 2 impressive looking battleships and the scenes immediately following with the guns firing are in fact clips from Neon Genesis Evangelion. it is in the episode where they are transporting asuka's eva on the ships and they use the 2 battleshis to kill the angel.

  • bismark i remember you

like that ship and the yamato too

    the bothe were the best

  • lol if the Bismarck could do all that, the Germans would have won the war. pew pew

  • nope the sad thing was the Bismarck was effectively cut down by Swordfishes... WWI biplanes lunched from carriers without a single lost of airplanes.

  • Well done!

The song from WWII is one I've never knew existed until now.

  • thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it. The song was edited for time tho FYI...

  • Bismarck was neither biggest nor best in ww2

  • actually it was at the time. it was 42,000 tons. just a bit bigger than the Hood. The bismarcks deck guns were 15 in in diameter. so she was pretty big

  • The Bismark was the largest and fastest until the Japanese built the Yamato and the Musashi with 18 inch guns and at 80,000 tons they were the largest drednaughts built and used in the war.

  • Not all of these are Starblazers. What did you really use for this one?

  • I used some harlock saga some Evangallion and Some Read or Die and one scene from elfen Lied

  • Thanks.

  • where is the elfen lied scene

  • the Elfen Lied scene is at time 2:02-2:03 actuallly what looks like 2 very short clips of the sunrise inbetween the shots with the Yamato it's just background but it is elfen lied

  • oki
