  • I saw some pairs mating! So cute!

  • i got sea monkys today...have had before but...idk

i am lettn the water purify now and then tomoro after skool (will be 28hrs) adding the egg sachet.

my set came with a zoo tank, food, eggs, feeding spoon, stirrir and a race course with two little tube things to pick em up in

  • cool you have a lot of mating sea monkeys you will have like 100 more babys

  • hey two sea monkeys are mating

  • OMG THEY ARE SO BIG!!! Can they live with other animals?

  • i want sea monkeys really bad! the look fun!!!!!

  • do u have to put salt water

  • Ew is there ever a way to clean the tank?! i HURD you cant and thats just nasty liks sitting in your own ...stuff ya know ew

  • I am a happy sea monkey mommy! My sea monkeys hatched yesterday. They are so cute!!!! Well mine get that humongo?

  • kool i have 8

  • my are tiny atm. They always seem to die though, i swear they're a very temperamental species to keep alive. As in, the conditions of your tank have got to be just right :/

  • i love sea monkeys!

  • mine are about that size.

  • My sea monkeys didn't look like that. They looked like sea horses instead.

  • Sea-Monkeys are a unique species of brine shrimp, known by the scientific name of Artemia NYOS. We not only unlocked the most elusive secrets of their life cycle, we created new formulas to keep them alive under conditions found in the average home—an accomplishment never before achieved! Finally, after years of crossbreeding, we developed a hybrid. These amazing new hybrids grow larger and live longer than any "natural" variety of brine shrimp.

  • o:24, OMG!! HUGE SEA MONKEY ON THE BUBBLE

  • I've always wanted some but, I can't afford them.

  • those sea monkeys are not big!!!

  • Sea Monkeys are NOT made in a lab! They originate in salt lakes and evaporation flats and are members of the phylum Arthropoda I know I spelled that word wrong. (I think) Simply Brine Shrimp. Sea Monkeys is a trademark given to sell a variant of Brine Shrimp. Also back in like 1990 Howie Mandel made a show about Sea Monkeys. Very funny! ^_^

  • ROSE IS WRONG!!!!

first of all they don't o anything to the eggs to make em last longer, that's nature. If you only knew that the little puddles/ lakes they live in dry out, then you would know why they last longer, so that when the waters come back to species is still alive.

Sea monkeys aren't the brine shrimp you see in the Mono Lake, they are a hybrid. T he species you do see he wild in those lakes are the wild brine shrimp- Artemia Salina Seamonkeys were made in a lab and are Artemia Nyos

  • if u stick ur hand in the tank will they hurt u or somthin?

  • nar your thinking of crabs

  • no they won't

  • no but they will die,not you

  • on 0:24 sooooo BIG hahaha XD

  • If a little water evapeorates can you add some more?

  • yes

  • YES

  • Yay! These are great! I just had 5 hatch here!

  • i have those things right now. they're tiny. i can't belive in a few months or some thing they'll be that big.

  • sea monkey arent natural they were made to live longer and grow bigger that other brine shrimp

  • i have very huge ones but im scared and worried for one because he is completely black but is swimming aound like the other sea monkeys and i made sure hes not dead but he realy is swimming around he is not dead

  • Who old are they?

  • 6 weeks old

  • dou have to clean the tank???!?!?!?!!!!11

  • every time i have sea monkeys they die

  • i want one! hey by the way since you said you can see there digestive track, can you see other stuff in this werid but fasinating brine shrimp?

  • nice vid! my sea-monkeys are the same size

  • Sooo it means that they are pregnant when there bellies are black like that??

Just wondering because I read that it was because of bacteria in the water or overfeeding!? Help! Are our sea monkeys sick!? =(

  • The kids have a small sea monkey habitat kind ok like the one you show here....just a quick question...most of the "monkeys" have started getting little black bellies. We don't know what this is. I figured it was either a full belly or babies! I don't know! Do you!?

  • omg was one of them pregnant? lol

  • Actually, true sea monkeys are grown in a lab. They are a species of brine shrimp that has been modified by cross-breeding to live longer and grow larger than their wild cousins.

  • how do i know if my sea monkeys are pregnant?

  • yea they were made in a lab, with out the formula they live in theyll die instantly, so ur making stuff up or ur jst wrong

  • so do sea monkeys food cost alot since u have to feed them once a week?

  • They last almost a year... do they are really cheap

  • when you see 2 seamonkeys attached togerther they are mating and then youl have little sea monkey babies and will last 4 ever

  • How Long Will My Sea Monkeys TO GRow Big? They Hatched On Jan 31st 2008.... and Its Feb 7th .... How Often Should I change The Water? Have Yours Ever Been Pregnant ( if they did how old were they? ) Where are Brine Shrimp Sold? Thanks .... Babii Frann

  • they werent made in a lab...they live in salty waters. there called brine shrimp. my dwarf frog eats them. they just take the eggs and do something with them so they last for years. they werent made in a lab.

  • They have no natural predators so your frog is doing something not natural for him.

  • yea i know thats true becuase i had frogs but they never ate any of those i mean

ever hear of a frog eating shrimp? come on thats pretty weird O_O

  • actualy yor wrong because they were made in a lab .

theirscientific name is "atemnia nyos" which bears no reseblence to the common brine shrims name exsept for they both come from the strain "atemnia".

  • Artemia Nyos (sea monkeys) were created in a lab (technically yes) the "scientist" took the brine shrimp and slightly modified them to create sea monkeys so technically sea monkrys were created in a lab :)

  • Yeah...but I heard that those "brine shrimp" were crossbred with another species of shrimp...so technically, they are part-brine shrimp.

    Just sharing :-)

  • you are wrong, your talking about brine shrimp, these are sea monkeys. 2 Different animals. Artemia salina - wild species

Artemia Nyos- Made in a lab, Hybrid.

  • Why do they have a stripe on their back? Are they about to grow wings? :O

  • They are brine shrimps, they can't morph, sorry :) You are watching their digestive system.

  • So does any one know where they really come from ? Like who catches them or how are they not dead by the time we get them?

  • They are natural from Salt Lakes. They lay eggs in suspended animation (their lake eventually evaporate and this is how their species survive). Their eggs can survive without water for decades. Contact with water makes them hatch. Hope this help!

  • Wow...0k yea it did help a lot I wish I had some...=]

  • how do you know when a sea monkey gets sick?

  • I think my sea monkeys were mating but i saw them attached together and i said there mating but then they started like squigilling around bouncing into walls and other things were the fighting

  • if it was two males (theyre smaller and havee whiskers) then they probably were fighting (wich is normal by the way, dont try to break them up) but if it was a big one (female) and a small one with whiskers (male) then they were mating...just very wierdly

  • SO if the total cost was 30 i would double it to 60? and by the way my sea monkeys are doing preety good but do you think i should buy the sea diamonds and the mating powder.

  • If the items are $10 and the shipping $3, double the shipping only.

I love ALL Sea-Monkey accessories. Sea-Diamonds are cool. I only use a few for each tank. Gro-Kwikly, Sea-Medic and Red Magic are also my favorites (Cupid's Arrow is great for this time of year when temperatures gets cold.)

  • when i had my sea monkeys, they did great even with out all of that other stuff, they multiplyed as well (a sexually and ...the...other way) but i did have the sea diamonds, they probably will be cool but only put a few in!! i put the hole pack in, big mistake '-_-

  • what do u mean by big mistake

  • Yea thanks the only problem is that i live in canada and it says i need to pay double the amount for the stuff i need so yea i might not order it. But i dont now if i need to pay double.

  • Double amount for the shipping costs only, not the cost of the items.

  • i live in canada two, i got mine at toy r us LOL!

  • you can get them at toys r us? dannngggggg i shoulda went there

  • yes i think i have like 3 to 6 males not alot but yea does every female have to have the egg sack to tell its a female? And do you have that grow quickley stuff im triying to find it in a store because i cant ordor online.

  • they dont carry them on stores, only via mail order (Transcience... their address is on the back of the pouches) or online (ebay)

  • amazon or ebay

  • sea monkeys wont mate like its been 3 weeks should i just wait longer? and one of my seamonkeys as a black ball haning i think its a egg but i dont now what do you think

  • Wait another week. The one with the ball is a pregnant female (yes, she can be pregnant wihtout a male) so you'll have your babies anyways :) Do you have a male in the tank?

  • I have a problem where do you go to get the sea monkeys!~ I did see them in stores but i want to find the world pool! P.S. Please talk back!!

  • You mean their natural habitat? you must visit the Great Salt Lake in Utah

  • ya they dont live naturally, they were made in a lab, and in the ocean theyll die.

  • Actually Sea monkeys are quite natural. In the world beyond a plastic cointainer, their called Brine shrimp. Their eggs can stay in suspended animation (like hibernation but in this case, not seasonal) for several years. In the wild they live in saltwater, BUT NOT in oceans (example of habitat: Mono lake, California).

  • They are shrimp dood... Brine Shrimp is the technical term for Sea Monkeys.

  • electro. They are a hybrid of brine shrimp.

  • No. Sea monkeys are lab-created pets.

  • plus they are mutated

  • No they arent "Brine Shrimp." They are a type of shrimp but Not brime. You need to learn how to think Before you post things.

  • no they are not

  • they say add more salt into the water increases chances of them mating

  • how old are they?

  • lol some are mating

  • my seamonkeys wont hatch!....it's been 24 hrs..i still see the colour dot..chemicals..floating at the top...it'sa bit blurry, is it good? how can i make them hatch?

  • Its been a week, did they hatch?

  • 6 have hatched so far but how many am i supposed to get? if some of the water is spilled, do i just add more back?

  • Please do not add more water if you spilled some. Remember that the pouches contains special salts for 12 ounces of water.

BTW, how are they doing so far? :)

  • growing bigger each day!, but there's still only 6...=T i may have more questions in the future, thank you so much! they're quite amusing =D...but will i get more?

  • after they start mating (3-4 weeks) you're have new babies! :)

  • yes right! i forgot thank you very much!

  • i used to have sea monkeys. i lost the food packet it came with. tried to feed them fish food. didnt work. so they died. and it was so sad. all the whole time they waited....waited...and waited above until food came. which it didnt and i watched then starve to death

  • They died because the fish food added bacteria to their water. I have Sea-Monkey tanks that didnt need food for weeks, but of course, I can't recommend this, but if your tank have plenty of light (not direct sun-ray!) they could thrive only on algae.

  • Buy new food?

  • wats the best way to aerate switching from one container to othere over and over or with a million air bubble pump?

  • If you have the time and patience, I go for the switching routine. They have more excercise, fun and the uneaten food from the bottom are exposed everywhere! (good for the babies)

  • wen theyre adults i feed them every 2 days right?

  • It really depends on the amount of adults, and the amount of indirect light they receive (it is advisable to place the tank in a North facing window to promote algae growth) Frequent feeding may require more frequent aereation and monitoring the water for cloudness.

  • o god no that will cloud teh water once every week but use teh bigger sppon

  • thx

  • wen there adutls do u feed them on the bige side of feeding spoon?

  • Nope. Same small scoop, but every 2 or 3 days if water doesnt get cloudy. Tanks in north-facing windows grows natural algae and doesnt need to be feed that often.

  • yes

  • hi. i saw that your sea monkeys are really big... but this tank (the one that you have) brings some sea diamonds (a toy for the sea monkeys)... were are they?? did you put them?

  • All your tanks are beautiful. Do you use an aerator regularly? I've heard different opinions -- some say a small fish tank aerator is good, others say use nothing but the million bubbles pump.

  • wow i had a few too the biggest called esher but he was`nt as big a these are

  • wow for sea monkeys they are big O_o

  • The secret? In the sea-monkey manual... lots of sunlight (preferably north facing window), keep out of cold places (and from heat!)
