  • That series was cheezy.

  • That was a lot better than the reimagined shit series, that's for sure

  • To Go Onboard the Galactica Again...........

  • Galactica....

  • Great video

  • well done... like the battle in the asteroid field :)

  • Ever wondered why those Cyclons always misses their target? Look at their eyes for goodness sake! How do they aim when their eyes kept moving from left to right?

  • I don't know why everyone thinks Cylons are so stupid because they need three of them to fly their ships. They were good enough to wipe out the 12 Colonies and almost all of the Colonial Fleet. The Galactica only survived because it turned tail and ran. Really, what exactly was Adama going to do to protect the colonies with NO VIPER support? He was even dumb enough to drop shields next to an EXPLODING Battlestar! And it's the Cylons that are stupid????

  • fucking awesome! thanks

  • lol you dummies

  • Life Here. Began ,out There....

  • I have been looking for a game if there is for this. Is there any? Want to know, how pc or console? Please let me know.

  • If you're going to be true to the original series you can't show different maneuvers. You have to show the same shots over and over again. Just saying.

  • TerMinators, Cybermen, now i learn of these guys....I'm not gonna sleep for a while

  • Really well done!!!!

  • Life Here ,Began Out There.....

If you Read and Interpret the First Lines of Our own Holy Bible, It states the Same thing.

The Mathematical Probability that we are alone in the Universe is Infinitesimally Small.

One Day,we will meet the Neighbors out there. Whether we Like it or Not. .

  • what is the song used in this

  • @lordrevan571 music from the orginal series.

  • I take it you don't like Colonial Warriors much?

  • This is another fantastic video based on Battlestar Galactica. Whoever made it must be referring to the last battle between the forces of good and evil.

  • Those Cylons have been watching Doctor Who...

  • @notablegoat You're right. I was thinking something along those lines.

  • The old centurions are just so hilarious. I mean, three of them share a ship where they talk to each other in generic robot voices instead of networking with the ship itself, and on the top of that they can't seem to hit anything with their "lasers". No wonder the cylons decided to make the raiders and a new generation of centurions before attempting to attack the colonies again.

  • @SternMann93 I think cylons went to the same marksmanship training school as the Deceptacons. None of them can hit shit

  • @SternMann93 Well, for that matter if you want to be smart about it why even have them on the ships? Why aren't the ships automated? Fact is these guys provide a 'face' for the enemy, and having them communicate with one-another lets the audience get insight into what they are doing/thinking. It's for dramatic effect, not realism. Another fact - these guys looked badass.

  • @WalterLiddy Well, the reimagiend series' Cylon Raiders were Cylons themselves, so those were 'automated'.

  • @SternMann93 it's called showmanship, creativity, and ENTERTAINMENT you asshole! Your stupid argument is like saying Data in Star Trek should have been a part of the main computer of the Enterprise instead verbally talking to it all the time.

  • I love the new BSG but i prefer the old Centurions!

  • 35 Years Later People still like the Original Galactica Tale. It was Cancelled for all sortsof Reasons, Money etc.,Copryright Problems, etc. But what we saw as an Audience was Just Great. There were some Klunky Stories. The Good Stories were hamoered by Censorship and Non Violence Family Hour Rules of the day. But now, 33 years later. Original Battlestar brought back, Unchained, would be a Runaway Cash Making Property. a Total Hit. Apollo would Command the Galactica with Starbuck, Boomer as #3

  • bitchen!

  • "exterminate those humans!" at 1:18

  • @klajon117 Very Dalek/Cyberman inspired there that dialogue...but nobody beats daleks for how to say exterminate and sound like they mean business!

  • More Cylon Dialouge next time :P Good job all-around.

  • That is pretty cool for a fan-made CGI-film. Good Job. You might have a job doing this kind of stuff for a major game company(BLIZZARD perhaps).

  • Cylons were far better than stupid stormtroopers

  • @gabrich1991

Yeah cuz the original was such a hard hitting series drama, with no love interests,no kids, no families and husband wife drama, oh wait, that's right.. they had alot of that. maybe if you ever watched the entire new BSG you wouldn't make such a blanket stupid statement. I love the old show, i'm 48 years old. The new show however is damn amazing. One of the BEST TV shows i have EVER SEEN.

  • 0:40

  • "Oh no. What we have here, my dear Lucifer, is what is known as a rout, a humiliation, a massacre."

  • no dead toasters

  • awesome , well done

  • Very Cool!

  • the new cylons absolutely blow compared to the original ones.. especially with those cool voices

  • This kicked my ass right off my chair! Epic!

    E. x

  • i must admit

this 2:42 catched me more, than all 4 seasons of new BSG ;)

  • it took 3 cyclons to operate 1 craft. clearly these fools couldnt be trusted to run even a small companys IT department.

  • @glennjridge Maybe so, but they sure kicked the Vipers' asses in this video, so something must be right!

  • @glennjridge - The original Cylons couldn't hit a target with a tactical nuke. I liked the idea of turning the Raider craft into Cylons themselves ( Ep. " Scar " in the RDM version ).

  • @glennjridge The entire point of BSG is that we destroyed ourselves. TOS by being foolish and wedded to peace (a message VERY relevant today), the new version by our utter lack of morality.

  • WoW! That's a pilot show as far as I'm concerned.

If you have time, you could an animated Star Trek too.

  • Thanks for posting this excellent video. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • ....Ok so you killed all of the protagonists. Hurray!

  • the 23 doesnt like this are cylons...

  • Wish David would make another film like this.....

  • Now this is how the new Battlestar Galactica should've been made!

    Truly a great work!!!

  • Omg - you got one too? I am making one also, have since 13 years old in 1978-

Am attempting to make an actual CGI episode.Am a noob(3 months exp 3d C4d)

Name is Queenhunter, remember-asked bout your viper-turbosquid. That was A freeking Awesome piece of work. This video Kicks. Period.

and I thought I was doing good...

  • 0:39 What is love? Baby don't hurt me...

  • Frakk'n fantastic, felt like being ten again. Go Cylons, go!

  • This is an amazing piece of work! I don't know how long it took you to do this, but it certainly was worth it! Bravo!

  • this was the real cylon attack, why did they make the other 2010 version in stores for anyway, i had hoped they put the real game out, who ever designed this was a real hero, Please tell me where i can find the this game at? thanks

  • die human

  • I seem to remember the cylon ships required three occupants, in order to equal the ability of one human pilot. They seem to be more than a match, however, in your fan film. It makes the fight's outcome much more uncertain, the fate of mankind much more precarious. :)

  • I watched the 3 Hour Pilot of the Original Battlestar Galactica last Night at Home. I had my New 72" High Definition TV & Blue Ray Player on. This DVD Rocked ! The Special Effects Held Up and are Superior to Today's Newer Special Effects. If they Remaster the Old Series it will do more for it than what was done to the Original Star Trek's Special Effects Remastering which were Dissapointing. Seeing the Original Battlestars on Screen,The Legendary Vipers Fighters & Commander Adama is was Great.

  • Ahhh... these guys are much better then the crap they came up with recently.

Old school beats the new felgercarp by a million times.

  • Imagine this as a Big Budget Live Action Movie. Revisiting the Original Ship Galactica and her Universe 35 Years later would belike Revisitinbg Dodge City, Kansas at the time of the Push across the Great Frontier. Davy Crockett & Daniel Boone, Ooops, Commander Apollo & Colonel Starbuck would have their Hands Full Leading a New Crew aboard the Fortress Galactica as she Seeks out a New Home for her people. Along the way ,the Journey would be Dangerous, Adventurous and Full of Excitement.

  • The website at 2:14 didn't turn up.

  • @FantasticBob7000 The Govermnent of the Twelve worlds would have had a Fallback Contingency Plan in Case the Twelve Colonies were Directly Attacked ,Invaded ,or Destroyed. How Many Decommisioned Battlestars were Retired and Placed in Protective Storgage in Secret Locations where no one ,not even Adama would have known about ? That way their Existence would be Secure . They would be Reactivated when needed. 1,000 Year of War would have prepared the Humans for Anything.

  • @Roadracer987654321 Huh? I just said the url at the end is a dud.

  • Excellent. Reminds me of old school which is 1000x better than the new series.

  • @mark96701 HowBig were the Original Cylon Base Ships ?

  • The sound on this awesome! How'd you do it?

  • Loved it altho my partner and i wondered if it was from a game - might be something to think on, I'd buy it :D

  • Excellent! New movie in 2011? The Gods would display their love for geekdom with a new BSG movie.

p.s. Herb Jefferson JR (original Boomer) was in Tulsa this month for the sci-fi con. Truly a gentleman. He's down to earth but knows his impact on the sci-fi community.

  • what ever happened to the reptian cylons ??

  • I like it.....great models and animation.....interested in seeing a longer version....

  • A Colonial Battlestar would be able to defeat a Cylon Base ship any day of the week. The Battlestar Pegasus thought long destroyed must hav survived after her Commander went Berserk and singlehandedly Destroyed 2 Cylon Base ships.

he would have run decoy action after the events of The Living Legend Part 2.

  • I really loved it!!! The perfomance is excellent!!!

  • Pity you'd have hoped the human pilot would've made a last stand , by taking at least one Cylon Raider with him. Nice to see a bit of Retro BG by the way. Nice t see it's not the newer type

  • I also like the bit where all the cubits fall to the ground

  • That is sooo fantastic, words fail me to describe how much i like this!! Do more, do more!!!

  • amazing, and the floating helmet was real spooky, post more

  • This was great!!! Please make more, the new cylons are fruit cakes!!

  • what is the name of the first song

  • the opening is part of the theme music to the movie in 1978

  • It's unbelievable what can already be done, and I have no doubt that within 1 or 2 decades max, fans will be able to make their completely own movies, identical to the original, with lifelike humans and all.

It will cause some legal problems, but hey..in the end it's just a movie:)

  • Check "star wreck", however, warning it is in Finnish language.

  • There were several Star Wreck clips.

I saw one with real humans.

U not gonna tell me they were computer animated right? :)

  • Spoofs are not covered under copyright :)

  • George Lucas problems stend from the fact that no one knew what he was doing. Also, he was forced to cram three movies worth of ideas (and throw many out) because he knew that the other nine planned movies were unlikely to be made.

  • @drbotanus Thanks for mentioning George Lucas.I like to know where did he get the stupid Jar Jar Finks idea.I agree with you about the Vampire episodes. The public will let the publishers know when they had enough.

  • Hello there Cylons! Would you be my friend??? hmmm??? :-((

  • holy frak! This makes me want to break out my old copy of Battlestar Galactica on the XBox. This is how they should have done the CGI scenes. Extremely well done!!!

  • Why would a helmet need its own power source? And fuck you dmassive

  • cant wait for the movie 2011

  • @petrus4321 The movie won't be until 2012/2013. Glenn Larson's still looking to do a deal with Ron Moore, which would be a dream team situation for what will be about the first Cylon war.

  • @Tim733733 On one of the websites Larson now has full rights over Galactica again. He was never a fan of Ron Moore's version. If the movie or new TV series is not made then plans are to release the new episodes on DVD only.So far no news as to whom is in the cast.

  • @quarqill That's a shame. Could be potentially horrendous if he attempts to revamp it yet again. It was a gamble as it was with the RDM revamp, but at least it worked. Take him out of the core and it'll lose it's edge.

  • @Tim733733 Speaking of Ron Moore,he is talking about going back to writing episodes for StarTrek.Fans hate him because he wrote the episode in which William Shatner's character Kirk was killed.I bet Gene Roddenberry is turning over in his grave.Plus Larson's version on DVD is outselling the remake and even Star Wars.By the way,Larson already had Galactica written 10 to 15 years before Lucas created Star Wars but Universal Studios at first wasn't interested in Larson's project and Lucas knew it.

  • @Tim733733 In fact speaking of George Lucas knowing Larson had Galactica already written,Lucas offered Star Wars to Universal Studios but was turned down because they were committed to Galactica.Larson offered to help Lucas get Star Wars off the ground in exchange Lucas work with Larson on Galactica but Lucas said no.Many are asking if Lucas knew Larson already had Galactica created why he sued?Larson was also a successful writer/producer and hadbig connections that could help Lucas..

  • @petrus4321 ...they'll mess it up jus like they did the tv series!...

  • @petrus4321 What movie ?

  • @petrus4321 I'm not seeing any movie, right now?

  • @petrus4321 what movie?

  • @gabrich1991 Glenn Larson the creater of BSG is producing a movie based on the classic Battlestar. I guess he was really pissed at Ronald moore for screwing up Battlestar by turning it into a soap opera.

  • The problem with the new series is it rewrites history. And that is never a good thing. Personally I think it would have been better as a BSG side story, which the original BSG had open anyway, when they brought in the BS Pegasus.

  • Glen Larson's feature film version will be out in 2011.

  • The problem was the new series showed the worst in humanity. BSG was about humanity overcoming its differences to survive. GINO pretty much made the survivors into backstabbers and motivated by self interest rather than the greater good. At least the classic series made them have a alien culture rather than just earth people of today with spaceships

And the whole "Humanity is doomed to make the exact same mistakes over and over again" ending was pretty crappy.

  • So let me ask you this. Cylons come and destroy your home world and you are living whats left of your life in a cargo container going one day to the next. The reason they are kicking each other in the teeth is because nothing is certain, and that leads to fear, which leads to panic or mob mentality. I like that there are no aliens, not to mention Boxey and Muffet....

Really though, we ARE always going to repeat our mistakes is because we are human. The show focused on that.

  • The Galactica itself is the sexiest spaceship EVER. It is the most efficient design, and the command center is deep inside. Well protected from harm. Everything is Manuel, and the submarine aspect is really appealing due to PRACTICALITY. Don't forget that the Galactica is pushing 50 years during the show where as in the original it was state of the art. I wish I had more space, because I could tell you off all night.

  • You are right about history being rewritten and so did Larson's creation. He wrote in his story the Cylons were created by a reptile race.Moore changed it to where the Cylons were created by humans. If you have the 3 hour version of the original Galactica with Apollo telling Boxey about the history of the Cylons, case closed.Moore screwed up everything.

  • You're correct. The Cylons (were never told what they were originally called) were reptiles that resembled Imperious Leader. They started replacing their bodies with cybernetic parts, until, after many generations, they were completely machine & have synthetic reptile brains. The Imperious Leader's (there have been 3 that we know of) are the only Cylons that still have organics & flesh, but underneath they are the same computer & endostructure as the "IL" series Cylon Lucifer.

  • @drbotanus The studios should leave the story the way the writer made it.

  • @quarqill The writers were as involved with the changes more than anyone. Sometimes you write something that turns out to be beyond the budget and you must compromise. Galactica 1980 was a compromise on Glen Larson's part. He knew that shooting episodes in LA and on the studio back lot would be cheaper and allow his show to continue, while at the same time allowing him to use some of the ideas he had to abandon from year one.

  • Had Galactica 1980 continued, with the fleet fleeing Earth instead of searching for it, in order to lead the Cylons away, it would have returned to something more like the first show. With some scouts from Galactica stranded on Earth in some episodes and the fleet stranded outsid our solar system in the others. Might have been interesting.

  • @drbotanus It was reported George Lucas had the same problem with FOX when he was making Star Wars. The studio also screwed up Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned. They refused to give her more control on how the story should go.Plus NBC was to make a number of her Vampire stories into a mini-series but the new owners scrapped the plans after all of the contracts were signed.

  • @quarqill

And I could care less about Anne Rice.

I am friggin sick to death of Vampire shows, Vampire teen movies and shows. Romantic vampires and anything with Vampires in general. The market has been vamp-saturated for seventeen years. Enough is enough.

  • @drbotanus By the way,I love the Cylon theme in this video at the end.

  • Mucho mejor que el bolazo ese que empezaron a hacer en el 2003... cylones mujeres...pero por favor!!! que falta de respeto. Estos viejitos si que lucian malos, y se veian como robots.

  • the cylons look similar to stormtroopers

  • True. BSG was created to ride the wave of success Star Wars created. Even Starbuck and Han Solo were cut from similar cloth.

But it's like LEGO toys. It doesnt matter if the pieces have been used before, it's how you assemble them that matters. And BSG still made its own unique identity with an impression left on pop culture thats lasted to this day.

  • Then you will be conned you sad turnip

  • Makes a great film. If this were a DVD film I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

  • this would be a kick ass game for ps2 or ps3 someone pleas make it happen !!!

  • Whats with all the "hew series sucked" crap. it was great, i grew up with BSG and still love it, does that mean i cant like the new one?

Grow your own minds you drone fanbois.

  • Check out the book, My friend was reading the book, and for what he told me , the Original cylons were a Reptilian race.

  • You just made this old BSG fan's heart skip a beat. Awesome work! Classic BSG is the only BSG. Moore is full of it.

  • Awesome man. The new series blowed. The first was awesome. But I guess Han Solo is a better asteriod navigator than Colonel Warriors :-)

  • Better than the new series?????

    Frakker please.

  • The new series is cheaply made crap. Doesn't look like Sci-fi. The girl in the red dress is pretty but please. I'll take Classic Boltar and By Your Command any day.The CGI is so obvious. Just like the new Star Wars effects. However. Those models and puppets that were used looked real. I hate the corny cursing. "Frackin"". The old one was a great ideal. Sort of paralleled ancient astronaut theories of Egypt that many experts had.

  • Oh don't be such an idiot. You know for a fact that what you've just written there is bollocks in every way. 'Cheaply made crap' and effects 'just like Star Wars'. You're talking out of your arse and you know it.

  • Hey, hey, hey. What's will all the profanity. I meant the NEW STAR WARS "REVAMPS" NOT THE ORIGINALS. iT WAS MY OPNION. I DON'T USE CRUDE COMMENT ABOUT YOUR OPNIONS, WHY DO USE IT WITH MINE?

  • Wow...now this is what I'm talking about....Original B/G!!! This animation was awesome....you should do more like the clone wars cartoons. This was BETTER than watching the newer B/G!!! Hands down, I love the classic Cylon, raiders and vipers!!!! Someone at the Sci/Fi network should seriously do a Pre-quel series of the 1st war in the Era of Apollo and Starbuck and all the classic 70's stuff!!!

  • Amen my friend. Amen.

  • Plus you can talk like an old style Cylon by speaking into a harmonica.

  • Actor Michael Santiago does the Cylon talking.

  • Wow. Thanks for the info. Always wanted to know whose cool voice that was!

  • Yeah, THIS is the Battlestar Series i like. 5*

  • Wow!

  • Give me a squad of the Old Cylons and a few Base ships and they would destroy the new series, they were tougher then the new Cylons they were just Mean and Bad!!

  • 64% of those polled say the Cylons can kicked the asses of Darth Vader and the Empire in a space war.

  • @RevFlowerjoy lolz nice

    dis is da shit

  • @RevFlowerjoy They were such a cliche.Honest.Why a machine have to be bad?Well a cylon is beyond that. They have free will.We are XXI century.Dont live in the past

  • @RevFlowerjoy Foget it! I take the new galactica and blow you out of the Stars with

    some Nukes!

  • @RevFlowerjoy Agreed. The older cylons did not have expressions, did not understand humanity, and that made them considerably scary/

  • @RevFlowerjoy What, they are going to kill the newer cylons with their stock footage and cheesiness? The cylons from the old series cannot stand up to the newer ones even if the technology in the newer one isn't as higher up as the older one. And besides...at least it isn't a cheesy Star Wars rip off.

  • @Deathknight400

And the new series isn't a rip off of Wing Commander?

Seriously, both incarnations have the same core story: A desperate retreat to a mythical planet which happens to be our own. That wasn't in Stars Wars or Wing Commander. True, they can dress it differently to cash in on the current trends, but it's that core story is what makes BSG truly unique from other sci-fi shows.

Personally, I wouldn't mind them using CGI to enhance the original series. Stock footage did get boring..

  • @SamusDrake

That is an excellent point, I never considered Wing Commander. The flight suits from Battle star do look oddly familiar to ones from Wing Commander.

This is true, a lot of movies and t.v. shows these days have been made with a lot more realistic feel. Battlestar also went with the trend...but did it incredibly well.

I have to tell you though, the plot isn't unique to Battlestar, Macross, an amazing anime series, also uses it.

  • @Deathknight400

And come to think of it, there's one or two other series using the "trying to get home" theme: D&D cartoon and Quantum Leap. ^_^

It would be interesting if Glen Larson would do a "making of Battle Star Galactica" book to explain the roots of it's development.

  • @SamusDrake

I just hope that it doesn't get over used.

It would be. I always wondered what inspired that sort of plot.

  • @SamusDrake They have not announced when the feature film version of Galactica made by Larson is coming out this year.He is getting help from Bryan Singer and Tom Desanto who did the X-men series

  • @quarqill

Was it Bryan Singer who directed the latest Superman move? I loved that film! X-Men flicks were all right too..

  • @Deathknight400 - It'd be more correct to say that the Original used ideas from Star Wars. That was back when SW was connsidered fresh & new. Original BSG also used some ideas from Lost in Space, Star Trek & perhaps a little - known Canadian - originated series called " The Starlost ". If they do another remake of BSG, maybe they should find a balance between some of the Post 9 - 11 edginess & the slightly " campy " (?) flavor of the original BSG, as well as terminology like " yahrens ".

  • I got something to say. Not one Viper got a shot in to a Cylon, not one. Come on now, you mean to tell me not one Viper wouldnt take a shot on a Cylon? I mean where did they think they were going to go? Apparently there wasn't any Battlestars waiting for them much less helping them so why bother going into deep space rather than die fighting. LOL one Viper did fire and that was to get the asteroid out of his flight path. So much that did for him. Nice animation otherwise.

  • i got nothing to say, this is very good cgi!

  • I rooted for the Cylons in the first show, and now that they include some totaly hot babes, it just gets better! I think the guys on the Galactia must be gay. I mean really if I was being chased by a Basestar full of Sixes I would let them catch me!

  • I think the Cylon Raiders and the Vipers from the original series looked so much better than the ones from the new series. The classic Cylons were pretty badass, too. Love the Cylon voice.

  • You got that right...someone at Sci/Fi network should seriously think about doing a 1'st war Pre-quel series......taking place where the old 70's left off. That would bring in some serious ratings!!! I'd love to see guys in Cylon costumes get'n blown up like the old shows...that was classic!!!

  • If only they had these effects back in the day.

  • There is still some confusion on whether there will be a Galactica feature film or not.Universal Studios may tie Glen Larson's hands behind his back and still give us the crap Ron Moore puts out.

  • Yes, but wouldn't that sort of ruin the feel of it? Then again, some 20 years from now somebody else will probably say the same thing :-)

  • wow, very well made ...good job

  • What angers me about Universal Studios is that this franchise is Star Wars biggest competitor and they should give Larson the money time to write the scripts and have complete control over his project.

  • I agree...pretty cool!!! If only someone could show something like this in which the Galactica takes flight along with the other ships preparing into space for the first time...that would be cool to see....thanks!! :)

  • Very nicely done!

  • Give me a attack squadron of these Cylons and they would win over the new series, they were far more powerful in numbers and strength

  • I like to see them and the Tie fighters go at it.

  • My money is on the Cylons.

  • wow. very impressive

  • Stu Phillips told me that Glen Larson did not tell him whether he has a script ready for the Galactica feature film nor the cast.Just for him to be ready to do the music if Universal Studios greenlight the project.
