I sold Excel in college many years ago and made about $4,000 in less than a year. It all depended on the network that you could build and if the people you recruited could sell the product. This was not a scam - I had the service myself (local phone service and a pager) and made a nice little income for very litle effort. I'm sure I could have made more but MLM waas just not my thing and I got tired of selling to my friends and family.

Excel Communications closed down, was sold etc in the 1990's, the owners made billions, left everybody else out in the cold, never forget to think long term before you jump into network marketing, even Zig Ziglar failed at his mlm co. something to think about...............
