why couldn't they tune his piano for him...?upper end.my God.what a patient guy to put up with that..i'm not sure keith would get past first 3 seconds before standing up and demanding a tuner..evans is one of the indisputable greats!
This concert I saw on TV years, years ago and became my inspiration to play jazz and convince me to understand better what is improvisation in real sense. Marc Johnson is IMHO one of the greatest upright bass players and Nardis! on this concert :D
im not insisting to be right rather than trying to explain my point:
it's about the awareness of decision making. there comes a moment in both processes that signals: "if i will continue now then i'm gonna have to die. the thing is to go one with your routine or to step backward from the roof / do a therapy or whatever gets you out of your misery,
but evans music is so celestal that he continues among us. and how beautiful that is...
naahh. drugs don't kill people. but people kill themselves by using drugs. thats a question of responsibilities. but i find the other question more intriguing: "how can somebody play such beautiful music (and boy he does that, he makes you wanting to slip in deeper every time) and and at the same time suffering so much that he becomes suicidal. and Bill is not the only one ...
@ctrlzjones lol he was suicidal because he died from drugs? what in interesting way to look at it. But i dont think so, that would be the case if they were trying to kill themselves but he wasnt taking drugs with the intent to do so, so that doesnt classify under suicide. im pretty sure most people who do drugs dont want to die

What a celebration of the art, so sad to see close up how swollen his hands had become from what would kill him, yet his touch dancing over the pain.

Bill Evans is always so good at returning us to the melody.

Bill Evans is the tightest, most intellectual pianist ever. I could listen to him all day.

Wow, the comping behind the bass solo is excellent. This truly was Evans' strongest trio (although there really isn't an easy choice).
