Do they crap a lot? If so, how do you manage to keep clean? I really need to know because I don't know if you can actually keep them from doing it inside, or simply have a useful tip on how to deal with it. I've had chickens too, but they were always outside, never had to deal with them inside the house. I love chickens, but I need to know if I can deal with them as pets inside the house. Chickens are one of the sweetest pets I've had, I am hoping I can get one again very soon. Thanks in advance
I love this video!!! The full sized hen and rooster really seem to enjoy being cleaned by the little bantam. That little bantam sounds exactly like my little porcelain d' uccle bantam hen! I wish I knew what all that adorable chatter meant. Great video glad to see I am not the only one with chickens hanging out in my home. Chickens Rule!
The little hen and rooster are Seramas. They are smaller than bantams, but don't let their tiny size fool you, they have the biggest attitudes! LOL We now have 18 seramas. They are wonderful, aren't they?
They truly are wonderful! So the little hen that is doing the cleaning is a Serama? I heard about them being the smallest in the world. The bantam Porcelain d' uccle I have is ridiculously tiny! I will try to send a pic of her. I think she is so very small cause when she was just a few months old (at her previous home) a dog ripped off her left wing! I think this some how delayed her development cause she is now a little over a year and has never laid an egg.
we have 5 chickens and 2 of them are fairly young (plymouth's); it's their first year of laying.
i enjoy watching them because they are so funny. chasing flying insects around the yard, occasional chest-bumping. and they are smart too.
everytime i walk through the living room and into the kitchen, they know that i am there. they stop and look toward the patio door, and they can see me.

@xINVISIGOTHx ROFL So how do you keep the floor clean? I'm too lazy to even think about cleaning every 12 minutes.
95stangdude 2 months ago
@95stangdude LOTS of napkins, and making use of old t-shirts and socks and towels and rags that I don't want anymore.

What a sweet little dear! Most people don't know that chickens groom each other and show affection.

Im thinking about getting a few serama hens to incubate my small quail eggs and stuff. Are they broody? And are they friendly and hardy? Thanks

That's a cute Serama hen and rooster :)
Never heard of those breeds, but they sure are having a good time.
Love her clucking while she's getting the food off the other hen and rooster.

i saw this video a long while back, but it's still funny...
i'm just a little afraid of the mess that they might leave behind on the floor, if you know what i mean.

They will do the same thing to your toes if you let them. XD I think it's kind of nasty, but hey food is food.

She's my smallest hen, she's a Serama, the worlds smallest breed of chicken. She's a little sweetheart.
