  • @netskot *SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE FILM* the original Sam did his 3 years then went home, then the clones started working. Duncan Jones, the director, has confirmed that is what happened in an interview

  • Mélodie douce et tellement symbolique à mes yeux (l)

  • is this a good film

  • @rgrgregory5 This is probably one of the best films I've ever seen, apart from films like: saving private ryan or troy, this is a very good film, the emotion and music from this film are incredible...very sad too :C BUT it's just a film c: BUT a very good film c: so WATCH IT OR ILL BEAT YOU WITH A STICK C:

  • @Killerinx troy . . up there with moon and SPR . . srsly dude? -_-

  • @ohsomecustard Im not talking in generes of films, im saying in films overall, but I love this movie.

  • @Killerinx i don't understand your pigeon-talk.

  • are we to assume that the voice at Eve's house was the original Sam Bell? that wouldn't make sense, right? the original died on the moon station after his 3 years were up and cloned.

  • the movie was excellent.

  • I cried in this movie.

  • Why you all call this a song!? This is just music!

  • schon ein wenig traurig alles. =(

  • My top favorite movie

  • Cant even see the dislike bar :L

  • really can't stop listening to this as of late..

  • I wish the world would start at 3:30 and end at 4:40. The most beautifull sad song i've ever heard and second most beautifull song in general after "Vide cor meum". This film should off won sa many oscars ...

  • Sam - "Why did you help me before GERTY? With the password?"

GERTY - "Helping is what I do."

  • "There's so many, why did there have to be so many?"

  • art, art, art. not only music, entirely work with devotion.

  • 2 people don't have a heart

  • hauntingly beautiful.

  • We do I still listen to this, I know I'm gonna cry before it even starts.

  • Sometimes I think about the meaning of life, Not how we exist but why, and the meaning of life. This video does not give me the answer but it does put me at peace with the questions I ask.

  • 0:01 to 4:53 is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING

  • У меня просто нет слов...

  • this song is great. the movie is great. i love life.

  • Sam Rockwell's is a great actor and Mansell put out a beautiful score, Sony should be shamed not to have bothered to put the film forward for the Oscars! How could a film of this quality NOT have been at least nominated? Slumdog won the best original score, it was an OK score, nothing special but I think had Moon been nominated it would have and should have won.Sean Penn won best actor for 'Milk' again nothing special, had Sam R been nominated he too would have and should have won.

  • @hermando29 That's not how the Oscars© work. Winning an Oscar© has nothing whatsoever to do with a films quality and everything to do with current Hollywood fads, backscratching and leveraging votes. All too often true works of art are swept to the sidelines.

  • @hermando29 Moon should have at least won Best Score.

  • a great song for a great movie

  • Holy shit this is one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard! Also Moon is amazing as well!

  • Masterpiece

  • This film is so melancholy, yet uplifting at the same time. It's such a wonderful piece of true cinema.

  • @NickStedmon

I agree and I don't actually understand why it is uplifting, but Sams attitude somehow is. he is just a decent human and to see every hope and dream pulled away from him is absolutely gut wrenching!

  • Sam:Gerty! Am i really a clone?!?

Gerty:Would you like something to eat Sam?

  • Stop talking about a fucking video game!

  • @Siktopath Wow don't get your freaking pantys in a twist.

  • I can already tell ME3 is going to make me cry....

  • Masterpiece !

  • Favorite part:

-Sam '' What about Tess What about Eve? ''

    .

    .

    -Gerty '' I am sorry Sam ''

  • @AzizeLH one of the saddest scenes in the movie. the other was when he talks to his daughter with the phone

  • Mass Effect 3 soundtrack is in amazing hands.

  • @CroGamer002 Damn! I just realised that Clint Mansell is doing the ME3 OST! You've made my day! Haha.

  • if you want to put it on repeat without pressing anything :

add 'repeat' after 'youtube' and before the '.'

  • wonderful!!!!!

  • "Hey Gerty... am I really a clone? : ("

  • Cello intro at 3:30 is .... Indescribable.

  • 2:10-2:20 is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING

  • @spaz9i2 the best part

  • I rank this alongside Fur Elise or Moonligh Sonata. It is absolutely stunning as you say.

  • @spaz9i2 LOL you must be a pianist or something:D I dont see anything special in that part. Strange.

  • @FailDrummer it's the melody.

  • @spaz9i2 0:00-4:53 ABSOLUTELY STUNNING

  • I almost cried when Gerty told him the truth that his life is just made up by a company to achieve something. I dont know what would i do if mine were too just like in this movie or in the truman show...unbelievable, shocking isnt it? One of the most terrifiying thing in the world for me.

  • awesome movie , shows how humans are pure shit, its all about the all mighty dollar hahahah we chase fuckin paper are whole lives severely depressing

  • @88CRXa6 you made a point... severely depressing

  • @88CRXa6 Yep. We break our backs and stab each other's for swamp-colored paper and the corpses of our former presidents.

  • GERTY is adorable!! when he/it had that sad crying face on....made me want to just hug him..it

  • I think the director should have made the movie so that Sam never makes it back to Earth, and the movie should just have ended on a new Sam waking up. That would have been way more disturbing and unsettling.

  • The interesting part is that the original Sam probably sold his DNA and the right to create clones of himself to the mining company.

  • OUSTANDING MOVIE FOR AN OUTSTANDING SOUNDTRACK, GOOD JOB BOWIE JR.

  • Who could dislike this? WHO?

  • I hope Clint puts this emotional kind of music in Mass Effect 3.

  • i am not afriad to say i cried a little during this movie

  • Great movie . But what happens to the Sams in between Sam #1 and the Sam who based on his daugters age should be Sam #4? And was his accident really an accident? They obviously couldn't let anyone but the original Sam go home. So what happens to the other Sams? Was there a clue in there that I missed? I'll have to watch it a 3rd time.

  • @crobarus I think the ones that come to "pick up" Sam, shoot whatever clone there is, take the cloned body with them, and on departure, they shoot it out of an airlock. Then it’s a cycled process. If you notice the part where Sam is sitting in the rover, as the other is escaping, you'll notice that the guy is holding some kind of gun with the flashlight attached to it. In an earlier sequence, Sam briefly explains that what happened, wasn't supposed to happen.

  • @mrchiledonut I think the new Sam rescuing the dying Sam was what wasn't supposed to happen. I agree

they would have to kill the clones when the 3 years were up.

  • @crobarus My understanding is that all Sams by design die 3 years after waking up. The Sam who escapes to Earth will be dead in 3 years. That's why there were all those videos of all those Sams getting sick. Once those 3 years are up all Sams go to that chamber where they are put into a cryo sleep until they are "sent back to earth" but in reality they are incinerated.

  • @nbcisaac I gotta believe this Sam got sick when he crashed with his helmet off. Radiation got him.

The other Sams do have to be eliminated though. The Sam on his way back to earth sets up an interesting sequel.

  • @crobarus A sequel ? Hope your joking about that.

  • @724BLUE I'd want to see it. What happens to Sam #5. Does he get back to Earth? Then what? Come on they did Rocky 6. You can't have Moon 2?

  • @crobarus Ha Ha !! Maybe we can throw in a few transformers and some explosions and we just might have a sequel. However i think some things are better left to the imagination. For me, I see Sam #5 on a sunny beach drinking some Mai Tai's. I mean what would you do if you had 3 years to live ?

    P.S

Honestly Rocky 6 wasn't too bad. Other than that, I like your taste in movies !!

  • @crobarus master pieces usually dont have sequels

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one nearly done in, by this lovely movie, and that heartbreaking scene.

  • The scene where the clone calls the real Sam's daughter, finds out his wife died, and the real Sam Bell is already on earth. That got me. The way he breaks down and says, "I wanna go home."

  • Amanda...

  • How could ANYONE thumbs down this?

  • nice music with the good movie, bring out of my tear.

  • simple beauty

  • simple but wonderfull soundtrack

  • This music brings me right back to those tough scenes in the movie... the scene where he's talking to his daughter and crying alone in the vehicle were just emotionally overwhelming, especially when it pulls out to give us the beautiful view of the earth hovering in the not-so-far distance and Sam knows that he may never make it home...

  • This film was incredible, totally underrated. Rockwell's best so far. Mansell's score was a great addition to the loneliness of Sam's character. I hope these two will team up again (Mansell + Jones).

  • @stevenvenn They will, Jones said on the commentary he would love to work with him again

  • This song kills me.

  • This music is fantastic; it reminds me of Lost.

  • @SpOnGeFaN818 OH WOW! I THOUGHT I was the only one!!! :-O It reminded me of Lost also! I miss that show :-( and this movie was just <3

  • This soundtrack is just so tearjerking. Clint Mansell scores films like a god.

  • I cry every time I hear this piece.

  • @c4xpert Me 2. It's so emotional!

  • @delmoniaco You're the one who can't spell "moron".

  • Youtube needs a loop option NOW!

  • @becausehorse Add to queue, click repeat button.

  • @becausehorse bcause of me

  • @becausehorse get firefox , download greasemonkey addon , download "better loopy" script. you will get an option under the video to auto replay (loop).

  • @QuadCanon lol, now I have chrome and got an extension that allows me to loop it without having it to put it in my queue, but thanks anyways

  • @becausehorse Better still, just type 'repeat' in between 'youtube' and '.com' of any video. Presto, a constant loop.

  • @becausehorse you can loop stuff, just put it in a playlist :)

  • @ActinoRise just put repeat after youtube in the url and it loops the song

  • @becausehorse Just create a new playlist and put this song in it and hit replay and BOOM! Problem solved.

  • @becausehorse 1- use FireFox 2- download greasemonkey addon 3- use better loopy script

  • Comment removed

  • @QuadCanon Notice how its been 9 months and several people have already responded. I think I probably already found out a solution. More specifically with Chrome :P But thanks anyways

  • @becausehorse add the music on a new playlist (with only this music) then loop the playlist :p

  • @becausehorse

just write repeat after "w w w ," and it will start on another page that will loop the song.

  • as soon as i saw the first second of the movie It penetrated me, was i open? not specialy, but I belong to that kind of humanist art that heals the pain of the needy while humanising his torturers.

  • @delmoniaco What in the hell are you talking about?

  • I have watched this film 8 times since I bought it on blu-ray. It is just astounding. Top top film and should have scooped Oscars.

  • I have watched this film 8 times since I bought it on bluray. It is just astounding. Top top film and should have scooped Oscars.

  • how does sam # 2 knows he is a clone?

  • @frostimx it is because he found the other sam, and he was not supposed to. There was nobody on the island, the guy is alone, thats what they are told, so he find someone, shit!!!!, and on top of it he looks like him....

  • the most hard thing to realize that everything is a lie this movie brings a lot of emotions and its one of the few that make you relate to the main character so much that you feel how hurt he is and this soundtracks only makes it more amazing to me

  • One of the few films that made me cry. Absolutely heartbreaking when he finds out that his fact, is a fiction.

  • Love this movie, some of the best acting ive ever seen!!!! Its true Sam Rockwell acted his ass off in this!! And the track from this scene is so powerfull!

One of my top best movies of all time

  • An upsetting film... I loved it !

I can't find any word to qualify this music...

  • @Wafeul yes you can, you actually already said it LOL

  • @Wafeul Overrated?

  • @Wafeul i have words but not a "word" hope it helps. Search and never will you find what is bound to you, its meant to be found by you, meant to be the fate of you, but its on the small of your back and while you search you lack to feel the itching of your destiny. Just one slight stroke of your arm and you could find all that you’ve searched for, all that you’ve hoped for, all that you’ve worked for, and all that you’ve traveled for. Every person can brighten this world, more^

  • @Wafeul every person can give another theyre heart, and that person who has your heart can give it to another until youre soon a part of everyone. The people who change this world truly are those who can give fully, because for them nothing is needed but the fact of having a beating heart within and a hand to feel the cold darkness shroud away as they lay ready to pass away.

  • absolutely love this movie.

  • This is one of the best sci-fi movies ever made, its as good as classics like 2001 and Alien. There are too many great things to mention, but one thing I liked was seeing how Sam changed, he was kind of a jerk when he starts his mission, but with the older Sam you see how the 3 years changed him.

  • My current break-up song right here. T_T

    "I want to go home"

  • magnifique!!!

  • I love Clint Mansell's work, it's amazing

(Never seen this movie :x )

  • @1erida you really should ^^

  • when he asks "What happened to mommy" I was in a state of pure sadness, such a powerful scene.

  • Such a sad film...

    But a great film indeed!

  • Amazing tutorial, hope I can find a piano tutorial for it! (if anyone knows of one, message me)

  • Love the movie and the soundtrack! The performance of Sam Rockwell is just amazing!

  • Who the HELL could dislike something this beautiful????

  • Stop comparing AVATAR, it's really annoying.

Also just comment of how nice the soundtrack is, not post lots of comments saying Moon is better than AVATAR, so if that's your opinion then so be it. I enjoyed AVATAR, it had the awesome last action scene and the CGI was amazing. I watched it in 3D and l thought the 3D was good. Anyways Moon and AVATAR are both very different films.

  • @GreenPepperTeam

It's not whether moon is better then Avatar (which it is...by far), I think this film was more important then Avatar. Avatar looked good but was completely routine and had laughable dialogue. This film was original and didn't rely on a cheap stunt (3D) to sell tickets. Also it's themes were much more subtle then Avatars, which could be replicated by having a man from Greenpeace beat you over the head with a baseball bat.

  • The director took a massive risk doing this film, it really is something that has never been made before. But what a job the director did, incredible. Sam rockwell was the man to do this job, and lets not forget kevin spacey who was also the only man who's voice was the only fitting one for the computer. Incredible film, slightly underrated which is sad, but im glad i watched it , 10/10

  • So great movie and soundtrack...One of the most sad and emotional pieces ive heard :(

  • I am glad it wasnt more than 12 years, why should every scene, every effect be made for every man to like it? its not like moon is avatar

  • Beautiful song. The only thing that I didn't like about Moon was shown in this scene.. The fact that this had only been going on for 12 years or so. I think it should have been much longer for extra effect. But other than that it was a fantastic movie, full of pure emotion.

  • @crazyfvck Yeah, but then they would've had problems with the video-phone scene where he dials home to his daughter, and hears the original sam bell asking "who's asking about mommy?" I would rather it be 12 years, than alter the video phone scene.

  • ='(

When I hear this, I see Sam in my head hitting his seat with his arm in the space craft crying..... "i want to go home...." one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever seen.

Sam Rockwell is the best underrated actor in Hollywood today in my opinion.

  • I'll never forget this movie, nor this song. So beautiful and moving..

  • make a grown man cry music.

this film is so beautiful, every frame could be... well framed.. and hung up on your wall. The perfect balance between paying homage to the iconic sci-fi films such as 2001 and a loveable, moving and oftentimes painful storyline.

Great film, great Sam Rockwell, great soundtrack. One of my all time favs.

  • best song from the movie very moving

  • Sam Rockwell is the single most underrated actor in Hollywood. Fact. Great film. Best of 2009 in my humble opinion.

  • this music makes me feel lonely and sad...

  • this is the saddest song on earth, but yet so epic. clint mansell #FTW

  • The best soundtrack i've ever heard!! i hope the movie eventually gets the attention it deserves like the hurt locker did after some years..

  • *SPOILERS* The scene where GERTY tells Sam the truth and his smileyface frown turns into a crying face was so powerful and sad that it stuck with me. When I re-watched that scene, the music of it really hit me. There are very few orchestral pieces of music that make me cry, and since I've never found the piano to be a particularly sad sounding instrument, never before has a piano piece of music made me cry. But this song...I'm bawling throughout the whole song.

  • @otnat2094 then you should listen to clair de lune the gravel road or oceanic 815 all are great but this one is really sad

  • you know when he calls his daughter?

she calls out dad and i swear its Sam Rockwells/ Sam Bells voice who says "what is it honey?"

anyways- awesome film, awesome actor and awesome soundtrack .

    VIVA LA GERTY!

  • @xXBuckhamXx

The original Sam Bell is down on Earth living out a normal life. The clones had memories of the original to keep them slaving away. That's the moment at which the epiphany occurs, where his worst nightmares are proven correct.

Makes me think that Sam Bell is the creator of the whole mining operation. Food for thought.

  • @RyunP

Its this scene that ties the whole movie together, one small scene inside the rover, facing earth where he realises his whole life is bollocks and he just sits there slamming his arm into the seat crying that he wants to go home, one of the best scenes in cinema, Sam Rockwell did an amazing job

  • MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!

The scene where he finds out that he is a clone and that his family moved on while he was still on the moon is just depressing, I feel more sorry for the dying Sam Bell than the new one.

  • The most visually pensive piece of music i've heard since 'Memories of Green' by Vangelis; check it out if you like this piece. Funny actually because this movie was compared to Blade Runner which is where memories of green is from.

  • I agree with "yuskjr" the scene where he video phones his daughter is hands down the most powerful scene in the entire move, that feeling of such isolation and hopelessness that sam rockwell conveyed was so moving and real you can't help but be moved by it. How he didnt get nominated for this is beyond me, If only there were more movies like this today instead of the shit we're subjected to like transformers and all the other so called "movies" out there.

  • and i'm not sure if anyone has really commented on it before but the album art and posters for this film were really good and arty :)

the director of this film is also the son of David Bowie! i love telling people that :)

  • thank you Clint Mansell!!! i saw this film, thought the soundrack really added to emotion mood of it all brilliantly and so i used this song and a couple of others in my short film project at school :) and got an A* (YAY)

......shame it's not the final GCSE exam :( lol

  • Goodbye, Amy

  • The whole package of the film is superb, music is unbelievable, Clint Mansell is a genius.

  • My god. This piece of music is heart breaking. When he cries about wanting to go "home", really touched me. He was so lost. This is the best sound track i've heard in years.

  • One of the most emotional scenes in a long time, I believe... i was crying my ass off.

  • @MrBummelum I lost it when Gertys emotional display turned into the crying sad face... It was so sad.

  • @GoodOlVladwick - I agree with you totally. Having the computer show emotion and the way that they showed it(the crying emoticon) was completely sublime and brilliant.
