In her book with a crack in her voice she says that she hates interviews surprised to see this one. I love and adore her she is so awesome and so magnetic.
That interview must have been an exception, most probably because Roy Plomley found a "right tone" to talk to DJD :) I'm not really sure, but the other thing is that in a footage (not really an interview) with Richard Eyre talking to Judi, she said that actors have their right to live a private life as well, especially, when they are so dedicated to their work as she is.
And yes... Judi is incomparable actress and very charming lady :)
That is why I don't enjoy this millenium interviews ;) People are afraid to look around, to stop talking, we are taught how to smile to attract others attention :) Apparently, Judi is smiling naturally during the shot, not the way the producers made her to. Well... in the end you can't open your heart to strangers, no point at all.
She's like a swan: so elegant and eloquent, truthful and good-natured. Je l'aime.
