I saw a photo once of the officers of the BC Regiment taken in 1941 in England. I think it was all the officers at that time....the photo showed around half not serviving the war....terrible price paid by these men. I can't think of any any other nation, like Holland, who still show this much appreciation of foreigner who had come to help liberate them. Holland is a wonderful country, I am glad that we (Canadians) could help them in their time of need.
Wonderful, two great nations linked in a common history from Queen Wilhelmina in Ottawa to Canadian troops liberating The Netherlands. We are also proud of our Canadian cousin of Dutch heritage that has served Canada in Afghanistan.

My grandfather was part of the liberation force; he attended this event in 1995.
