The point is - in the song, nuclear catastrophe never happened, the 2 persons from the song have though that it was going to happen, and made themselves a shelter, then, in the end, drank the poison, and died, but nothing really happened outside of their shelter, but, nevertheless - video is amazing, great jump, and thumbs up :)
@TheTrooper9169666 Just for the record it's the movie's storyline that differs from Raymond Briggs original story and Steve has taken his lyrical inspiration from the Book not the movie.
When I saw the length of this song last year I was like "What?!? 11 minutes?!" After I bought the album, I heard this song last. 'I was blown away' is an understatement. The song is one of the best songs ever written, and easily the best song of 2010.
These 11 minutes pass by in less than a minute. Epic.
@DevilsExperiment I don't know whether you've seen the film, but the plot is completely different from that of the song, aside from the characters. I matched up what I could.
@ImagiKing Correct. In the movie, the fallout does happen, they go outside and expose themselves to it, managing to get sick, and the last 20 minutes shows them awaiting their deaths. In the song, the fallout is mistaken, the news report the mistake and say that what's really is an earthquake, but the couple denies it, so they kill themselves to avoid it. The message of the song is about how people make the biggest deal of disasters heard on the news,
oh my holy f*ckness, this, this is unbelievable... been sharing it to EVERY friend in facebook since i discovered it, its beyond fantastic and emotive... just cant avoid sheding tears allover the clip, definitely the BEST video ive seen in youtube in my life, IRON MAIDEN THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO MY LIFE EVER
This made the song and the movie more emotional for me, especially at the part where Bruce begins singing "He sees the picture on the wall it's falling down". The part after that... I don't know why, but this video made me somehow want to cry.
@lyon1535 Thanks! Good to know you like it. When I first heard the song I couldn't believe how well it fitted the movie, even though the plots are quite different.
Its a English "fake documentary" style movie from early '80es about WWIII. Extremely bleak and depressing, and then you google a bit and see that most serious analysts said it portrayed effects of nuclear war too optimistically.
BEST FILM/VIDEO EVER

If you watch the interview, you will see that steve's inspiration for this song, came from this film

Good idea, but badly executed, sorry.
If you had synced the video up to what the song was telling it would have been awesome.

You'd like "Threads". Scared the shit outta me the first time I've seen it. Even had bad dreams from it for over a year! LOL

Can I use the word "nice" for something like this. You could make it "better" by adding in scenes from Threads but that would be pure masochism.
Good bye Cold War, may you never come back.

@grdja83 Never heard of Threads. Seems like something worth checking out.
