  • thank you so much for this video, i have severe dermatitis when i was researching it up i found it can have a relation to celiac disease.

I have almost all the symptoms of celiac disease so im going to get checked out soon hopefully but my mum doesn't believe me.

by the way im only 14 in year 9 next year

  • i have the answer of gluten allergy u may contact me on 09826357660

  • I was just diagnosed yesterday with Celiac. They found it on an endoscopy (that I had for another reason) and was confirmed with a blood test. Today is my first day gluten free and I feel worse than ever! I wonder if you can get withdrawals from gluten? Eating gluten free is hard, but the cake/cookie mixes actually aren't so bad...

  • @kshorse34 You'll feel better the longer you go gluten free. It's hard but it'll get easier, at least I hope so, I'm still working on it as well.

  • I've been diagnosed with celiac disease for about 5 years now. I was so happy when they found out what was wrong. When I was in 5th grade I was sick almost the entire year, lolz and yet my twin sister showed no symptoms. Everything is great now, just sucks when something gets cross contaminated. That's a really long night for me. ;)

  • i might have it but i dinnt know anthing about it and this video helped me alot

  • I recently have been diagnosed with Coeliac disease, eating out is a bit of a minefield, there is a lot of trust in the people serving the food. Are spices safe to eat?

  • @jodey1965 - Yes the majority of spices are safe. But as always read the label. Eating out used to scare me too, but Salads, Grilled Chicken/Beef (without sauce) and rice/potato can be ordered at just about any place. Hope that helps :)

  • @jodey1965 Spices are usually fine, if you have a facebook add The Celiac Diva she has a lot of good info and such she does a video about spices.

  • what's the background music?

  • To filmfanatic1414, Celiac is actually an autoimmune disease, so three things are needed to actually trigger the disease. The first is genetic, yes, but it also requires the allergen (for lack of a better word) being consumed, and third, a trigger. This trigger is often a stressful time in one's life or other emotional period. So even though someone is born with the genetic potential for the disease, they may never actually contract it.

  • Great video!! Sadly 85% are false negative blood tests, and also there's no need to do a biopsy these days, a DNA test is the MOST accurate test of all, find a lab that carries it. Also some packages or coffee shops who make their own snacks may say "gluten free" but contain oats - do not eat them you'll be cramping for days. For sushi lovers, replace soy with lemon. Another hidden gluten is imitation crab, blue cheese and caramel. Sorry, I know.. Don't forget your B12 supplement

  • @singingmaya - I agree. I get really sick if I eat anything with caramel - even coffee with the syrup. I never liked blue cheese but thanks for the heads up on imitation crab :)

  • Im getting a blood test today....,

  • I am very happy with this disease, I feel good :D I might seem crazy. but It is good.

Because I have to order simple foods (easy too eat) when we go to restaurant.

I have been always uncomfortable eating outside. Now, I am ok because anyway I have limitation now ;)

  • If you don't mind i would like 4 mins of your time to write to me what do you usually do in your day well to be honest iam making a video tutorial on how to manage time like a pro.. check my channel to know what i'm talking about.. anyways it would be helpful if you tell me your feedback :) thank you in advance

  • celiac diease is something that needs to be more well known. :)

  • This video is perfect for giving important information of cloediac i was trying to find a video of it this video is the most useful one i sawed thank you very much doctor :)

  • This is great info. However, Gluten doesn't effect only those with CD. It would be real nice if you could do an addition video & include the fact the millions more ppl, like myself, that have a gluten intolerance. This can also mildly or greatly effects ones health. I didn't know I had an intolerance until after childbirth. Thankfully, after 4 yrs I got educated about gluten. So, 6 yrs after my child was born, I'm slowly beginning to feel better.

  • This was done very well :]

i have celiacs disease its no fun but im living healthy now :]]

  • This may seem silly, but the hardest part for me is dealing with the disease in social situations. I'm in college and it's hard to go out with friends worrying about getting glutened. Also, there are many business luncheons I need to be going to, to meet employers but I avoid them because I know there is nothing for me to eat. The only restaurants I can eat a safely are steakhouses. order meat and potatoes lol.

  • @MikaOwns

Actually, you can still get contaminated from grills. I usually ask for baked or boiled chicken, plain steamed vegetables, and rice. You can also get small containers to carry around salad dressings with you and then just ask for that. I have found that people will usually be accommodating, especially girls. Try going out for sushi or to a vegan place, they usually have gf options (so long as you avoid soy sauce).

  • @SnazzyArcade Thanks I'll try that out :)

  • @MikaOwns I know the feeling completely! I'm 22 I found out I have celiac at 21 and my work does lunches and such where I don't always get to eat what is being served. I've found that I have a heard time hanging out with my friends as well.

  • @usmcgirl19 Yup it is pretty difficult. Someone should start a social network for celiacs lol.

  • @MikaOwns haha they should! That'd be nice.

  • I had the blood test and the scope. :(

  • Im 10 and I have it :/

Its not fair when everyone eles gets to eat cakes and biscuits. And im stuck with gulten free flour - lots of things with gluten free flour in it tastes horrible :( its not FAIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :(

  • @XxJls11111xX It's harder to have the younger you are, for sure. Are there any gluten-free bakeries in your area, that sell cupcakes, cookies, etc? Or can you get them at grocery stores like whole foods.

  • @SnazzyArcade not really bakeries theres shops like tesco that have little corners with gluten free food but thats all. Plus i have brothers and sisters that can eat whatever they want and they tease me!

  • wow ive had this shit all my life.. and didnt even know it , it explains alot

  • i just had a blood test for cealiac. i am 14, i am smallest in my class, i get very bad stomach pains and i have been for the last 5 years or so. i am also very lazy and unfit so that might be fatigue. i get pissed off when my parents talk about how my day was at school. i also have gained 5 kilos in one week. i now weigh 39. yesterday i weighed 42.

  • RNpedia.com to know more about this..

  • i have celiac disease and in a few weaks i am going to have a tube down my throught :(

  • I know all of you are trying to do the right thing....but the gluten part of it doesn't have to be the enemy....I have Crohn's disease and now consider myself cured. I just eat REAL food....not preservatives, no additvies, basically no packaged or canned food, all organic, absolutely no milk because it's meant for a baby cow ( look at john mcdougall on the perils of dairy for starters) and no meat...because that is meant for carnivores with short digestive tracts...short and sweet but it helps!

  • excuse my spelling but you forgot violent vomiting and in children swollen mid sectoin. i am 13 on those are my side effects the mid section went back to normal size after i was diagnosed but you also forgot oats people say that they are gluten free other than that great presentation hope you won

  • wow i cant believe i wuz sick for all my life im 12 and we FINALLY found a cure :D half my family have it but were adapting its beeen about 6 mounths comment :D

  • My life has changed because of this diet. My family dont care about me, its just: "Don't eat that" or "Want some of this? Oh yea, you cant- Ha ha!" Now I wish I was never born, or I was dead. You would be surprised what life is like without the food you've grown up with. (I'm lactose intolerant too, that doesn't help me life either.) And you know what? Even the food I CAN eat makes me sick- I wish I were dead. Scientists should start fixing this, not how to cure headaches.

  • @Clayguy247 I know how you feel,, i went through this also about 3 years ago... my family didnt realy understand the importance of not eating gluten... just hang in there... trust me i know its hard, i went 15 years eating bread my whole life! i loved it sooooo much, and now all of a suden i cant eat it... even though ive been diagnosed for 3 years, its still new to me, and i still wished i could eat bread all the time.. but there are so many new products coming out that are labeled gluten free

  • I was diagnosed with celiac disease since i was 8. I got used to having a glutenfree diet. 10 years later i got diagnosed with Leukemia. I've had lots of chemo and eventually even a stemcell transplantation. Because of the new stem cells i have i might not have Celiac disease anymore. Atleast thats what the doctor said. So i've been eating gluten for 3 months now and will get the results of that in 2 weeks. I wonder if it's actually possible to get rid of celiac disease since its genetic stuff..

  • nice!!!! amazing!

  • For anyone newly diagnosed and watching videos, if you're upset about not eating wheat... trust me... it's not bad at all. The idea of it is bad, which is what gets people upset, you're used to foods and certain ways of eating, but once you adjust it's honestly like nothing ever changed. Also a good tip, if you're worried about eating bread that tastes like rock covered in glue for the rest of your life, try UDI's bread, seriously. And for hope... a vaccine has been developed and being tested!

  • does celiac disease causes diarrhea?

  • @iloveyouhebe Yes, that is a symptom.

  • owhh how to download this video....... I really need it.....

  • Joe c from the song devil without a cause with kid rock died fron this... I think... Idk he was awesome tho.... :(

  • i have it, im 14 and i wasnt born with it, i got it when i was 6, mostly girls get this disease.

  • @HOCKEYRULEZ10 You're "born with it" because it's a genetic predisposition. That means that the disease can be triggered at any age (for you age 6), but there is no way a person could have full blown Celiac Disease unless they possess the gene for it! Sorry. I have it too. Best of luck little lady :)

  • What's sick is, a lot of people have the disease in a milder form, I mean a lot.

They say 1 in 133, its probably more like 1 in 20.

Try going gluten free for a month, see what happens.

  • I think the reason some people say that people with Celiac Disease are born with it is because they're talking about the gene that's associated with Celiac Disease. The symptoms become more apparent sooner with some people and later with others. Maybe it's relative to the damage done to the small intestine and the malabsorption caused by it.

  • i have celiac disease, and i wasnt born with it. im only 13 and i was diagnosed at 11. its so hard, and i hate having it. my mom has it too

  • If you have Celiac, you are born with it, you just might not show symptoms since birth. I didn't show symptoms until I was twelve, and it is possible that something triggered the disease, but I had it all along, it just hadn't been effecting me.

  • @filmfanatic1414 ive just found out that ive got it

  • @filmfanatic1414 Not always celiac disease, can be non celiac gluten intolerance. Mostly the same, only the problem lies in the stomach.

  • Great video, and despookyhhr It is UNDER DIAGNOSED which is why there aren't that many people in the US who for sure have it. The numbers aren't over estimated, the people who have it just don't know.

  • @Filmfantic ~ Good job on you video, your research was well done.

@SpatialVortex, actually you are quite incorrect, research has show that people are born w/Celiac, it only manifests after ingesting gluten.

@Zoey8572 your half right and half wrong. You would look smarter if you had spelled things correctly too. Yes, endiosocpy are tested both ways. Celiac is a gluten intolerence, when you eat items w/gluten it causes damage to villis. When the damage accures is what cause malnutrition.

  • Actually, I do have celiac, and they did go down my throat to see if I had it. A lot of research went into making this video.

  • @ Spital vortex dont talk u got it wrong tooo lett people who have celiac like mee make yhese videos okkk gawd this upsetss me it isent caused by eating gluten its caused by malnutrition

  • Yeahh uhhh no people are not born born with it i have ciliac disese and you got more then just that wrong but you cant say that it is developed by a viral devitiencee in the small intestenss and those symptumms were wrongg and the tube goes up ur butt not down the throut its called a colonascapii and it is developed during childhood soo allll syptems are during childhood yeah thats not all i could go onn so gett your facts right next timee

  • A+++

  • How can you say people are BORN with it? No baby is BORN with Celiac, people DEVELOP it, when they eat Gluten.

Celiac does not cause villi to be damaged, it's GLUTEN which does.

    Poorly made video. 1/5 stars.

  • pissed off that i have this..i don't want and endioscopy..

  • nice

  • Nice video. Hope it will help to raise awareness, it's on youtube's first page when doing a Celiac search.

  • not entirely down to genetics...
