Autologous stem cell transplantation is a procedure by which blood-forming stem cells are removed, and later injected back into the patient. All stem cells are taken from the patient themselves and cultured for later injection. Its sad how people are making such a big noise about embryonic stem cells and ignoring adult stem cells. Do you realize that stem cells are currently used with success for treatment of diseases like heart failure? This is bone marrow and mesenchymal stem cells, numerous papers have been published and we talk about this on our youtube channel.
