Just to give you an example, from the Vietnam Doco when talking about the amount of Agent Orange dumped on the Vietcong trenches (true) he unnecessarily follows with the wistful line

Not at all, and it seems to only get worse. In Ireland where I'm from, the Government have planned 15 billion Euro worth of cuts over four years. To some countries that's not a lot, but it's going to send us straight back to the way the country was in the 80's and early 90's. I was only young, but remember it was a shithole.

Thank you for sharing this video with me. John Pilger has been a 'hero' of mine for many years. I've read his books, always admire his truth and forthrightness, and as usual, he's spot on about the issues he covered, particularly the horrific intervention into the NT. I've read, that there are heaps of applications before the govt/s re mining etc in the NT. I said right from the beginning, that this was a contrived situation not for indigenous peoples' benefit! Why remove the racial discrim.act?

In the rest of the community,the incidents of child sexual and physical abuse is happening.How many non-indigenous people convicted of sex crimes against kids have lost their incomes or part of, and their homes?How many indigenous people in the NT have been charged re the 4 cases John spoke of?How many non-indigenous kids suffer from Rheumatic fever?None?Because, it was wiped out with the introduction of sanitation,better housing, nourishing food etc.I could advise the govt on what to do in NT?

I agree on heros, everyone is a hero, everyone has something they care deeply about.. but most burry what they care about beneath the mundane of civilized life that we rarely express it without it being covered in muck still..
