  • how can people dislike this? Nine haters to great music -__-. Shame :/

  • I can never get enough of his music, loved him then and still love him now. ROCK AND ROLL was king and I still haven't heard anything I like better.

  • I love the way he hit the high notes ... love the chorus when he goes "Timin' ... a tick a tick a tick a tick ... timin' ... a tock a tock a tock a tock"

  • This was no. 1 in the uk the day I was born. Perfect timin'

  • Still have the original of this in my 60s collection, what great days when he was around.I remember the people concerned with this song saying it would be a hit even before it got released, and they were right. The truth is ,is that the 60s era was a one off and will never be repeated however hard they try, apart from the fact that nobody these days seems capable of getting anywhere near.

  • I was madly in love with "my first love" when this hit the radio. Great memories from a great song and singer.

  • Gréât song lové this song

  • One of the greatest of all Rock n' Roll songs, it and "Handy Man" by a very underrated singer. I never get tired of hearing either of them.

  • @barrygioportmorien1 Lou Christie copied this guy.

  • LOL omg i was singing this the other day, and i was doing the 'tocka tocka tocka' bit where he goes really high and my boyfriend was like 'What the fuck are you doing?' I'm not a great singer :p

  • I had to watch this in school! :D

  • @JoeGreevess Times change; when I went to school you wound up in the principal's office if they caught you listening to this!

  • GREAT SONG I LOVE THIS SONG

  • i love this song

  • One o many tunes that reminds me of living in Cyprus. My old man had this song on tape, playing it in the car everytime we went to a beach or some other place

  • this is what one would call talent

  • I remember shaking my bootie to this song when i was a kid! GOT TO LOVE THIS SONG!!! thank you JIMMY i have my girls dancing to it now!

  • love <3 luv it

  • I don't know which is more captivating -- the "ticka, ticka, ticka" or Jimmy Jones' beaming smile. Regardless, this song always puts me in a great mood. The mini-history lesson within the song -- very clever.

  • cant stop listening to this song

    this is real music

  • @beckydann124 Walking down to the Stampede grounds. Calgary July 1960. Sang this ALL the way there, after, all the way back. Made 85c hr. Midway rides, girls flirting, too shy to say Hi,but it was GOOD Timing!

  • @beckydann124 amen ad amen!

  • Timing is EVERYTHING. THEN and NOW. Side "B." Imagine that!

  • Timing is EVERYTHING. THEN and NOW.

  • Wonderful tune, wonderful voice! Love it!

  • Iconic and wonderful --- Thank you, Jimmy Jones!

  • Seems even if you post something nice on yt that some hater will always diss it, fuck you haters stay down in dixie were you belong....

  • @derail14 yes they are jealous haters!

  • Ya know, here in America we have free speech and all. But I am so tired of seeing arguments sprouting all over You Tube about anything and everything.People say some hurtful, ugly things. I almost wish YT would disable the comments feature, that way I can just see the vid I want and not see the hateful, hurtful comments that are at times posted. I click on this nice, lovely old tune of my youth. I want to see positive comments. Not comments of hatred due to differences of culture!

  • I always thought he said Timex, like the clocks... but my sis hit me upside the head and clarified the word for me... Now I know better!

  • @tiranchula

    Sister knows best!

  • One of my favorite songs from 1960, the year I was born.

  • My dog and I love this song.

  • good taste...all the best from Wales...

  • what a great song . Why can't they write songs like this now.Having a lack of talent maybe the answer.

  • @ab240867 yeah, lyrical genius if you're brain dead or 5 years old.

  • Wow it is sad to see such venom in Whites, when ever their misconceptions are challenge. ONE THING WHITES SHOULD NOT PRACTICE CONTINUED IGNORANCE OF, IS THINKING THEY GAVE BLACKS ANYTHING. AFTER 400 YEARS OF LABOR, ON AMERICAN SOIL. THIS GIVING BLACKS SOMETHING, SOUNDS LIKE someone who is Retarded, and incapacitated. The Black Olmecs was in America Prior to Christ. Blacks was in all 4 corners of the World. The Slave Trade, just bought more Blacks back to where their forefathers already were.

  • @CalypieAndroid Did you expect anything different? This IS YouTube, after all... :-)

  • @CalypieAndroid The Internet is not America, your points are invalid.

  • @Un1c0RnHeinz57 THE INTERNET WAS CREATED WITH AMERICAN ingenuity and Wealth off of 400 years of Black American Labor. AND the whole world is crippled and dependent on America in some way or another. SO YOUR IGNORANCE IS INVALID, JUST ASK HE EUROPEAN UNION. AND THE AFRICAN UNION, AND THE UN. AND THE ASIAN UNION. no go back and open a book. or read something!

  • The 60's good timin'!!

  • a ttttttikkka tik a timing

  • perfect music !

  • Love the violin section - extremely well produced gem.

  • LMFAO this song always plays on the radio at walgreens i work at. i hated it at first but it grew on me hahaha

  • that is beautifull times

  • I was 13 and I was exploited labour. £6 a week for seven days. This song was on a continuous tape along with Tell Laura I love her and others of that era, Johnny Ray, Frankie Laine, Doris Day Jimmy Young, and several others that were drowned out by the constant clatter in the kitchen where I supposedly spent the 'best years of my life'

Nice song and imaginitive but not an instant flasback to any sort of memerable nostalgia I'm afraid.

  • @BertHigginbottom Funny though how certain songs do conjure up the past.

  • Love This.........Thank's.

  • Good Timin' and Handyman are two classics of that early 60's era. Great sounds from a talented singer. Jimmy moved from New York to New Jersey and I had the privilage of being with him during part of his career.

  • @rvictor64 Yeah,,LOU CHRISTIE and FRANKIE VALLIE thought they were THIS GUY.

  • Nobody can deny Jimmy Jones is a splendid artist no matter what race he is. He must have won the race to the stardom despite his ethnic background. And it is quite disgusting to see these comments of racism exchanged by You Tube viewers.

Listening to oldies, I always feel I was born in the wrong era: 1975. Few of my own generations are interested in the golden era of american music.

  • reminds me when i go to these 50's diner today

  • now i have always thought (for some strange reason) that jimmy jones was white! probably because he SOUNDS white, it's not until right now ,after seeing his pic here ,that i see he was coloured not that it makes much difference either way because this is a brilliant song sung by a very talented guy. great stuff dalkey, thanks.

  • @nuipret how does he sound white, maybe because whites have been stealing black american music for years now you cannot tell the difference.

  • @nuipret The only coloured person here is you racist bastard.

  • @rotena25 you are a typical nigger, ignorant, intellectually inferior to whitey, no doubt you are a BIG-LIPPED nigger that has only just learned how to use a knife and fork. you people are the filth of the earth and should all be strangle at birth since you all beg and steal from birth to death. it's whitey that sends all the niggers food and water day after day, i say starve you all to death, starting with you. you have the morals of a skunk and the intelligence of a fucking catterpillar ,

  • @nuipret Good thats what I wanted to hear, bring out your true colors.

  • @nuipret That exactly what I wanted you to say, you fell right into my plan. HAHAHA you whites are so predictable.

  • @nuipret You are white

you shouldnt be talking about morals rofl

  • @nuipret You are a sad addition to the human race! Shame on you!

  • @tiranchula stfu nigger. i hope you get raped by a big nigger with a bigger cock. now fuck off and keep your trap shut.

  • @nuipret Wow, you're real brave behind the computer... real nice.. Real Educated too... Ignorant pissant! Now go look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, "Do I Like What I See"? A very small person with an even smaller mind! Have a good night, hope you can sleep with all that hate in your heart!

  • @nuipret You're not fooling anybody, trying to sound like a tough guy on the computer don't make it so. Your type is "always" a coward in real life. You know, I'll bet anything you sit on the toilet to piss... don't you! Now shut the f-ck up "tough guy" Hahahaha

  • @nuipret I wanna stick my big black dick straight down your throat and choke you with my pearly WHITE CUM iehl

  • @Topshelftom1 well hi jigaboo! a nigger with a big cock? that must be good crack you are taking boy! did you know that nigger cum is EXACTLY the same structure as gorilla cum? that explains why you jigs are so fucking ugly! and it also explains the bad body odour that you all have from the moment of conception.

now go back to your bedroom and peek out of the window and look at your ugly black gals, then dream about our sweet-smelling gorgeous white chicks...the ones that laugh at you lot!

  • @nuipret If I wanted any Lip from you Cracker I would just scarpe it off of my scrotum.Hey Honkey with two teeth, didnt yer mama ever tell you its not polite to type when your mouth is full?Go watch the Village People while I fuck your mama and little sister with my huge, fat, throbbing dick!Peace and Love Whitey!

  • @Topshelftom1 that's it nigger? that the best you can do? well thanks for proving that you wogs are so inferior in every way to us whiteys! now don't you just HATE being a nigger? of course you do! you envy us whiteys with all your black heart because you realise that we have all the things you can never have, such as culture and social graces. you COULD teach us how to rob and kill and rape and loot, but we don't want to know your nigger lifestyles! i bet you are a big lipped nigger? i knew it!

  • @nuipret I bet you live in a trailor park with a broken down soda machine and telphone booth where you rednecks have jammed the coin slots from needing crack money? Now go brush that tooth of yours!

  • @Topshelftom1 TRAILOR? you can't spell can you nigger? now hear this sambo. are you a big-lipped buck tooth nigger? or have you some white blood in you which takes away some ugliness? (not much though!). do you try to get rid of your horrific body odour or do you just accept it and continue to pollute our atmosphere? i just bet you wank all day long to pictures of white chicks? yeah, i knew you did jig! you can beat me at NOTHING nigger, except robbing and killing innocent people that is.

  • @nuipret Does your mother know that her daddy liked black meat in his fat ass?

  • @Topshelftom1 that's it? this is your best shot? well i truly never expected anything other than a dumb nigger that had nothing to say! i'll now leave you to get on with your raping and maiming, i'll just settle into my retirement and spend more money a week than you'll get in a year!

you're no match in any way for me nigger so ttfn and with luck another nigger will shoot you down very soon!

  • @nuipret I love white pussy but not white "pussys"..Big difference..have a nice life Ned Beatty!

  • @nuipret Why int he world would anybody be jealous of a bunch of crackhead looking whites with yellow crooked teeth( aka brits)???/

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable hey boys, looks like we've got us a real live nigger here! you're so easy to trace jig! now me and my boys in the states will pay you a visit VERY soon,y'hear nig? let's see you jump ropes and hoops when we MAKE you do it! i'm gonna make you work on my granpappy's plantation in georgia. see you real soon jigaboo!

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable Saying all british people have crooked teeth is like saying all blacks are stupid... It simply isn't true so hush.

  • @nuipret "you COULD teach us how to rob and kill and rape and loot"

You are british , you know everything about that lmao!!!!

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable I am English and I resent your narrow minded comments what would you know about anything you can't even use the language correctly you must be uneducated and uncouth to say the least such a tool.Anyway how could you and your boys afford the fare, you would have to sell a lot of yourself to do that and seeing as you are a first class pillock it would take forever.wHICH WOULD BE GOOD FOR ALL US.sORRY NO RESPONSE WANTED FROM A FIRST CLASS PILLOOCK.None needed either.

  • This was performed in Dreamboats and Petticoats in Cheltenham recently, wonderful!

  • ES HERMOSA ESTA CANCIÓN

  • ESTA CANCIÓN ES MAGICA CONMOCIONA EL ESPIRITU EN FORMA INCONMENSURABLE VIVA EL AMOR.

  • Thank you so much, i've been looking for this song for many years, probably more than 30 years, i heard this song as a young boy and loved it, actually here in Australia it was used by a Jewelery shop as an Ad for their Watches, to tell you the truth i think the ad was the only part of the song i heard and i wasn't sure if it was a real song or not, i actually looked on here a while back looking for it but gave up, had another look tonight and found it, i just purchased it of iTunes, Thankyou.

  • Σ|D<good songs.and soulful.

  • i well love this song!

  • Gosh, I love this stuff

  • A great anthem from the age of innocence! Now sadly long since gone!

  • 産休!

  • This song is so fantastic, and jimmy is such a great singer, I will never get tired of hearing it.

  • I have ALWAYS loved falsetto.

  • I met Jimmy Jones when he made an appearence at our High School dance in New York back in January of 1960 and we learned that we had mutual friends. He had just release his first big hit " Handy Man" and a few months later he recorded "Good Timin." A year later, when I moved to south Jersey, Jimmy would visit me if he was entertaining in the Philly area where he also had family. Ron

  • How does he do that with his voice??? I can't even go that high!

    - Fantastic song

  • @KiteSwift I didn't think of this until your comment, but the "falsetto" part kind of reminds me of those old "Kaffa-Kaffa!" radio commercials...

  • THIS IS DA BOMB ,OH YEAH OLDIES ARE FOREVERR!!!

  • I just fellin love!! maybe partly 'cause my timing always sucks..

  • You can't beat the classics!!!

  • Loved this since childhood...thank you!!!!

  • top tune dalkley :D nice to see you...great post ! thank you :D

  • great dance song when i was a kid. had the 45 - was great with handyman the flip side

  • I was a senior in college when this came out--just a young guy. Today I'm an old man. This song is 50 years old. I hadn't heard it in decades. Today, it played over the sound system at my local hardware story. I never knew the actual name of the song, so it took a bit of googling of the lyrics tonight to find it.. My college apartment mate, who has since passed away, used to imitate the singer by going into falsetto.

  • This song turns 50 years old this month and I love it! I couldn't wait to add it to my %0 years ago play list!! I finally can!!

  • love it!

  • This guy was one fabulous talent. All his songs had a great beat and unique lyrics.

  • well i meet the great Jimmy Jones the other day I did some work in his house he still going strong and sounds great

  • Nice song!!!

  • such a great song, i was 12 and living in Germany when it was played on an army base radio station. ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER

  • @stillrockinat61 I wish I was living in Germany...What were you doing on an army base?

  • Great!! Beautiful song!!

  • Comment removed

  • Ah, yes. Those were the days; and this is one song that endures. Sounds as great today as it did back then. Never met Jimmy, but his wife Marie was in my brother's high school class. Would love to hear some of her work; as she, too, is a very talented singer.

  • Take this man's advice! Tell her now, don't let her get away!

  • At last i've found this song !!!

  • First time I hear the original version: with reverb !!! Thanks !

  • Ticker Tynan..... Come on Bev.

  • dalkey, thx for posting this great track

  • what a great tune!

  • Wow !

    still live

  • ALWAYS liked this...ur right Jagermeister196..it HAS stood the test of time! :D

  • Who the H is ludacris??

Like this song alot and used to like Handyman. It was a big hit in New England too! This is a talented man and wasn't he very handsome?!

    Thank you Jimmy Jones!!

  • I have been listening to this song for almost 50 yrs and I love as much now as ever. And, more importantly, I understand and appreciate the incredible talent so many of the singers from this era. Anyone think in 50 yrs people will be saying what a great musician Ludacris was??

  • i agree, but i dont think ludacris was ever good to start with

  • operamudflower,

Jimmy Jones is still alive and still singing.........

  • what a wicked song! fell on this by accident, and it's so good! Fun and upbeat - Never thought i'd like this kind of music

  • A great number from 1960. They don't make them like this anymore. Jimmy Jones had one of the best falsetto voices.

  • This one and Handy Man were big hits in Lancaster, PA, when I was in Jr. and Sr. High. JJ's great voice and delivery, the backing vocals and strings, and wonderful rhythms -- fun to dance to -- all contributed to a superior 45. No cheap production there.

  • Jesus, they dont do this stuff anymore - so sad

  • I wish I knew more guys with that beautiful a face. He has the best bone structure. Too bad the cutey has long passed.

  • ..one of my all-time favorites...I remember how thrilled I was to find a 33 1/3 M-G-M LP titled: GOOD TIMIN' (unfortunately it was only in mono !) at Fred Rodin's Record Corral in Toronto.......

  • This track so typifies 1960, it's wonderful.

  • Stands the test of Time.

  • The very first 45rpm record I ever bought! (Cost 7s 8d) I can still see its bright yellow label spinning on the turntable. Not enough stars in the galaxy to rate this one, Marika!

  • es una canción que hace soñar . cuando vivia en caletones siempre la escuchaba la administración norteamericana .hacia llegar estos exitos maravillosos.

  • I'm almost 52 years old. I have a 45 of Handman was I was a little kid. Never in all that time did I know that Jimmy Jones was black! See I learned something on Youtube. Thanks.

  • This brings back the decent music. Love the oldies. Keep them coming please

  • One of my best.

I listened this song during my teens through LM radio, in Mozambique

  • he can make his voice high without sounding weird like alot of people. thats really cool!!!!:) <3

  • Sweet !!!

  • Always loved this song..In 1960 I was 14..Was I that young when it first came out...Great song and video..Thanks for uploading it..

    Kay..

  • WOW! What memories. He was a favorite singer. I really miss this kind of singing and the reason it couldn't be beat. THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

  • what a great voice!what a great tune!

  • I remember campaigning for a sheriff who had this as his campaign song. His last name was TYNAN. Good Ole memories of this song playing continously on an open reel.
