I dont think Tyson was ever Evander's role model. Ive been following Evander for a long time now and have all his fights and interviews on DVD. Never have I heard him give Tyson that kind of praise but he did respect him.

Also, Tyson was not "shot" when he fought Evander (or Douglas).Tyson was a 25-1 favorite going into the 1st fight with Holyfield.Only AFTER Holyfield beat him hands down,did people wasnt to say that Tyson was not the same fighter.Before that everyone predicted doom for Holy.

Holyfield has stated that Tyson's gym work was inspirational to Evander, Holyfield has said that the only person that he'd ever seen work harder than him in the gym was tyson, also i never said Tyson was shot when he fought Holyfield but i think pre prison Tyson would have lasted 12 rounds with Holyfield.
