Kai, the reason people freak out about the underwear isn't cause they think it's dirty. It's because when you show it, it kind of forces a mental picture of you wearing them, which is a bit awkward.

acuttly you can wear studs in ur carletge:) my dad dose tatttos and persings, after a few months and you pearsing has not rejected any puss or the earing and you takreally good care of it then u can put a small stud in there just take really good care of it:) the only reson you have to get a few mounths after is because the skin swells up and the stud put pressur on the swollen skin and can cause an infection:) i just thaught id tell u that:) love u vids plz chek out my vids:)

Some people are sensitive to seeing things that are indecent because it is simply undignified to be looking at other people's undergarments. @ForeverKailyn i always switch between straight and curved 14g jewellery (my cartildge is 14 gauge too), as well as regular studs and rings. as long as everything feels comfortable to you, then you can mix it up as much as you like.

@ForeverKailyn it depends how you feel. if you think it feels like it's going to shrink really quickly, then wear the studs during the day and switch back to your bar to sleep in (obviously making sure everything's cleaned properly each time), but i'd say leaving the stud in for a couple of days at a time would be fine, as long as you're keeping an eye on it..

the best thing with any piercing is to wear a variety of jewellery in it, so that it learns to adjust to each type.

Kai, I have had my cartilage pierced for many years now and I've used all sorts of earrings...from studs, to hoops, barbell type...you name it. You might just want to watch out if you're sensitive...make sure it's hypoallergenic, etc. It's fun to try different things.

I'm no expert, but from personal experience, I don't think it matters, unless you had a specific size hole in your cartilage & wanted to keep it that size. Yours seems like a standard size. I think you'll like the look of the stud earring in the cartilage, because it's a little hidden & it looks cute. If you happen to use an earring that is smaller than the hole (& it feels loose), then you might want a more secure backing,so it doesn't fall out. Hope that helps!

I know what you mean about the Miley Cyrus line at Wal-Mart. The sizing is way off so before you buy anything from that line you need to try it on and the same with the O.P. line at Wal-Mart. The clothes just seem to fit really strangely. When I bought some shorts from the Miley Cyrus line I didn't try them on because I figured the size on the label is correct, but it is not at all.

I have the butterfly earrings, too! The sandals brand is O.P. for Ocean Pacific. It's an older brand that was around in the late 80's/early 90's. It used to be surfer-type beach wear. You can wear whatever jewelry you want in your cartilage, depending on the gauge. If the gauge isn't small enough for the "standard" sized earring, then no, you shouldn't wear that. But if it is (about an 18g or 20g), then it really doesn't matter what you wear. lol

But if you type in "14g" into the search bar, you can check out the jewelry they have in 14g. You aren't limited to what is labeled with "cartilage barbell/ring". You can wear whatever you're comfortable with. :)
