  • Thanks for posting the movie. I know that much was left out, because it's a move and hollywood puts it's interpretation on things. Proud, Beautiful, Handsome Earth People!Peace & Harmony Always

  • My undying respect to All Native Nations of this land. You were here long before the Europeans arrived with their arrogance, genocide, greed, bigotry & hipocrisy. Yes, evolution brought the original natives here by way of China. Evolution began in Africa, evolving around the globe. We know this. Europeans did not evolutionize here. They came, saw, disrespected, killed & conquered(in the name of Christianity). Peace & Love to All Indigenous Nations of this land. U R the First Citizens. Period.

  • i had the honour to share clay iron necklace memorys,of his life,,decendant of sitting bull, awesome people,,,we got a lot to answer too,us damn whites,,and we cry now to late our countrys, all in crisis,,,should have listened to the wise!!! RIP my friend, never forgotton xx

  • the actor who played sitting bull is not american,He is canadian. He was also in Last of the mohicans.

  • Caluze:

    You say:

"we are the only true Americans."

    Not true.

Like all 'Americans' you are descended from immigants. Your ancestors migrated from Asia.

You were just the first in a long line of immigrants.

'American' identity was not created until the European immigrants created it.

You only achieved 'American' identity when you were incorporated into the United States of America through conquest and defeat.

You are 'Americans' now, just like all the other immigrants.

  • @willard20 fuck you, what makes you so fucken special, to speak like you know shit? fuck you

  • me gustaria Eric Schweig! greetings from Spain

  • Its sad that the more "modern" the world became in the 19th century, the more cruel became the white men. i mean, you are stealing the money of those proud native americans who lived there for such a long time, and then you expect them to do what you want them to do?? at least they fought to the end.

  • AND WE HAVE TO THINK ABOUT DEGANAVIDAH,

MAYBE THE TIME IS HERE TO CALL HIS NAME

    AMONG THE BUSHES.

  • HONOR ALSO TO TASUNKO VITKO !

  • WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT DEGANAVIDAH.

MAYBE THE TIME IS HERE TO CALL HIS NAME AMONG THE BUSHES.

  • sitting bull lives in everyone who honers what he stands for"an amazing leader loved the movie i want to see more movies about the great leaders of the indiginous people

  • Believe it or not though there are a lot of Native Americans out there who don't mind at all to be called "Indian." Check out the site "All Things Cherokee" in which I will quote partially: "In the end, the term you choose to use (as an Indian or non-Indian) is your own personal choice. Very few Indians that I know care either way." However if you've learned what tribe they are from it is better to acknowledge them that way, out of respect.

  • just saddens my heart and makes my soul ache inside me to listen to the history of all our American Indians. There was nothing to justify what the europeans did to them even to this day!

  • The government of the United States did far more damage than any european nation ever did. The word "european" isn't really appropriate to use. "Whites" is more appropriate.

  • Was this a TV series or a film ?

    I am very interested..... :)

  • It was a tv series, from HBO, I believe. It's available at DVD stores, but it can be hard to find. Try CD universe (on-line), as they have a wide selection. I want to buy it too, but I am hesitating, in case it gets released on Blu-Ray.

  • Thank you ' Schweigmeister '

  • not HBO, it was from TNT. Bury my Heart was from HBO

  • A TV miniseries. Produced by Stephen Spielberg. 6 episodes, each 1h 50 minutes long.

  • @redcloud1984

    " Thank You - redcloud "

  • yes it wan TV speical

  • Sitting Bull was unjustly treated here and so was Crazy Horse and hundreds of others! God will avenge those who did this someday unless they repent and ask for forgiveness.

  • It was not to all of the Lakota people, but to all native people. They forced my people off their land (Trail of Tears) and they killed many tribes. This act of the white men have scarred our ancestors and us forever

  • Yeah, The Nazis did this to my people in Germany too. My grandparents were treated terribly, lost their home and their land and eventually their country. Only their faith in God saved them and miraculously brought them to this land where they thought they were free. I have often sympathized with the American Indians here. Sharing National Sunday Law by A. Jan Marcussen=)

  • @hdiylove7 Not just hundreds....MILLIONS!

  • @hdiylove7 Don't be stupid, God wants all HEATHENS TO DIE AND GO TO HELL so He can retake control of the earth.

  • @QueenBrendaSIV TrollQueen. We are Grandfather's People. God's people, if you choose to so name Him a name that is derived of Pagan tradition and make yourself a hypocrite. "Lord" is much closer in meaning to His traditional Hebrew Name.

I pray that what you are doing is rooted in rude humor, because if you are truly choosing to hide in your ignorance, that is very, very sad.

  • @BlueberryDoughnuts What the heck are you talking about?

  • @QueenBrendaSIV did you not just call us "Heathens?"

  • @BlueberryDoughnuts Well, injuns are, well, at least they used to be heathens.

  • @QueenBrendaSIV I honestly can't tell if you are a troll or not at this point, but one this is for certain, you're a racist and an ignorant human being. I will pray for you, and keep your comments about "heathen injun prayers" to yourself for once in your life.

  • @BlueberryDoughnuts Your TW was a murderer! A thief, a scalper, no better than Custer!

  • @QueenBrendaSIV It's clear that you've run out of hollow, asinine statements and are now just recycling equally hollow, ignorant things you've already tried to use. Sorry that the walls of your Ivory Tower of white supremacy are collapsing around you. Come outside and play with the brown folks. You might be surprised what you learn.

  • @BlueberryDoughnuts I'm not wasichun, but hispanic!!! You fool. I'm part chachapoya, an indian tribe conquered by spaniards when they came to Peru, my country.

  • @QueenBrendaSIV The term "wasicu" is not confined to the whites, and from your attitude, I still count you as such.

You should show your ancestors some respect and stop listening to what the invaders say is true history.

  • @BlueberryDoughnuts I only listen to those who brought the christian faith to me, in this case the white invaders, you should be grateful that you were conquered by such good christian people like the Americans. Btw, did you know that Tasunke Witko killed 37 people, 3 of them women? I found it out when I read Angelina Johnson's journal, the wife of Captain Johnson, the white man who comforted Worm after his TW died. Worm was crying and stated the statistics above while saying how "brave" TW was.

  • @QueenBrendaSIV

White words written by white men. There are countless cases of falsely documented "testimonies" written for the specific purpose of further encouraging the extermination or assimilation of native people. It sounds like you are running from yourself. I am done with this. There are some people who just will not open their minds.

Keep being a self-hating Indian. When you come face to face with God and he asks you why you chose to hate and instigate negativity, answer well.

  • @BlueberryDoughnuts Why so sure? You know perfectly well that no one could be a chief wihout having killed at least a human being and having distinguished himself in battle, and that involved fighting and killing. You don't believe me right? Do you know who American Horse was? Tell me, do you know who he was?

  • @BlueberryDoughnuts No, ok, no! the lakotas were murderers, they stole land from pawnees, omahas, shoshones, they murdered their women and children, if you didn't know, before red cloud's war there had been a war between crows and sioux, and guess what! The Powder River Region for which the lakota recibed money from the Goverment had belonged to the Crow People, but the Lakota, of course, had massacrated them and stolen it!

  • @hdiylove7 HA HA HA HA UNJUSTLY TREATED? CRAZY HORSE? HOW ABOUT THE KILLING OF THE METZ PARTY? WHAT ABOUT THOSE POOR TWO WHITE WOMEN HE MURDERED WITH HIS OWN HANDS, CRAZY HORSE DESERVED A MUCH WORSE DEATH FOR ALL OF HIS CRIMES.

  • @QueenBrendaSIV Yes. Unjustly treated. Had the US government enforced their own treaty, there would have been NO WHITES on Lakota land anyway. They knew from the start how we would react to invaders. And Tasunke Witko murdered NO ONE. He was the image of humility, courage, and honor. He learned to fight like a white man to protect his people. And if you want to talk the killing of innocents, what about EVERY action of whites towards natives anywhere, EVER?

  • Your Tasunke Witko was a murderer, a killer. Don't forget that he made his reputation in a battlefield by murdering human beings: crow, shoshone, pawnee, whites, and many other who suffered in his hands. Did you know his first human killing was a poor Omaha squaw. Ok, you said that those white women deserved to be murdered because they were breaking the treaty, but that Omaha woman was in her own territory, her own village when TW murdered her, tell me, do you call this fair? cuz I don't!

  • @QueenBrendaSIV Native warfare was about honor, not killing. It was a far greater achievement to count coup on an enemy than to kill him. And if you want to talk murderers, look at your Great White Founding Fathers, men immortalized for their killings of who they considered lesser men. Men who were proponents of the slave trade, segregation, Jim Crow, and countless other injustices. Even Lincoln who, reluctantly, freed the slaves stated he did not want them to be equal citizens.

  • @BlueberryDoughnuts The fact is europeans didn't discover America, they didn't discover anything. There were over 500 nations and thousands of tribes here for milennia prior to colonization, and your great settlers led to the deaths of HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of men, women and children. I never said any woman who was killed "deserved" it, but what could an invading population who had already killed millions expect, IF in fact Tasunke Witko did what your white historians say.

  • Honey, sweetie, it's IMPOSSIBLE that Tasunke Witko never commited murder. Just think...no warrior was ever made chief whithout having murdered before a human being. If TW would've never killed anybody, h wouldn't be chief at all. If you read K. Bray book you'll see that TW not only killed enemy warriors but their women, their children too and I asure he never shed a tear for them whatsoever. It's reported that TW's first kill was a poor omaha woman whose village was attacked by a bunch of lakota

  • @QueenBrendaSIV Turtle Island was inhabited by over 600 MILLION NATIVES. Once the white man came, over 98% of that population fell to disease, slaughter, starvation, etc, because of YOUR "justified" white actions.

If you're going to walk around with your finger raised in accusation, try pointing it at the mirror for once.

  • his uncle four horns

  • they left out one of best parts. In real life Sitting Bulls Trained white horse that he used in the Buffalo Bills shows started performing his circus tricks when the first shot was fired.

  • How ironic, now instead of rifles we are all going to kill each other with nukes. Over what? Money, land, control, We all live on this rock called Earth. I hope it is still here for my children.

  • Does anyone know if Chaske Spencer is actually related to sitting bull? Because i read a interview about him and it said he is a Sioux so i was just wondering could someone reply to this or something? I'd like to know! thanks!

  • There are seven different "council fires" or groups of the Lakota, so that is doubtful. Sitting Bull was Hunkpapa - so is actor Zahn McLarnon, who played Running Fox as a younger man in "Into the West"

  • I'm a white man that worships Native Americans, but to say Sitting Bull is better than Jesus doesn't sound right. Both were great men. I don't believe Jesus was the son of God, just a man trying to make lives better... like Sitting Bull.

  • Totally agree with you !!! Couldn`t have said it better...

  • But then, Jesus has had a lot more crimes committed in his name (including the destruction of all the pre Christian religions in whatever lands the Christians turn up - from Europe, to Africa, to America, to the Middle East and Asia). So historically Sitting Bulls legacy has caused a lot less bloodshed and destruction.

  • PLease People WE are Native Americans, not indians. Indians are from India. We are Native Americans for we were from here and always will be. PEACE

  • gosh so true!! its so just so confusing when people refer to native americans as indians.. what would you call indians from india then?! east indians? plain confusing.. :)

  • Thanks, for the comment. So many people us mixed up. YOu go look INDAINS on Google, you will get people from INDIA. We are Native Americans. Well HU WASTE TE THAT is HI and have a good day in Lakota.

  • i totally agree, i say im an indian but i always have to say not the kind from india and it bugs the crap out of me

  • The Indians I know (I am from Arizona) call themselves Indians; none of 'em uses the term "native americans". In any case, the word used to describe your ethnic group has nothing to do with India. It's a corruption of the Spanish word "indio" which simply means native.

  • Oh thanks :]]

  • Im related to sitting bull xD

  • Comment removed

  • @caluze We would actually be referred to as Indigenous Americans, and we are the only true Americans.

  • @caluze I just call myself mexican, its eaisier Then debating about which is politicaly correct.

  • @caluze To be called Indian is a honor. It doesn't come from the word India. When Colombus came here India doesn't exist. They called Hindustani. Other fact is that Colombus doesn't speak english. He was very impressed by the people he find. In his diary he talks about them as very high spiritual people who respect the other creatures and call the earth Mother. He named this people CORPUS INDIOS.

  • muy bonita miniserie.

  • Yes, indians had the right to defend themselves. Many people died that time because of greed and land.

  • That is so true!! We are Native Americans, not Indians. and we still fight for what we lost.

  • Why are Indians always killed in these movies? But, I liked the video.

  • Sadly both white and indians were killed. But, the indians had a right to defend themselves against whites.

    very powerful movie

  • Because we were defending our sacred lands and ways of life from a nation that wanted to take that from us by force, and they killed our people for not submitting to their authority.

  • Great Video!

  • My Favorite movie of all time!

  • this is a cool vieo
