  • THIS IS MY NEW CHANNEL

MAY I JUST POINT OUT THAT THIS BASS HAS NOW BEEN SIGNED BY:

STUART HAMM, MARCUS MILLER, BILLY SHEEHAN

  • It's not a custom buildt bass,, it's a motified Fender P Bass. Just becsause you moditified it,, doesn't make it a custom.

  • The arctic white with a maple fretboard is the bass i just picked up. I think it looks great but i kind of want to put a tortoise shell on it or black like what you did. gorgeous bass isnt it?

  • hey,can i find the Olympic white but in the standard american series(NOT vintage or mexican),i want an american p bass,i am planning on getting one with a maple fretboard next year and i really like this color combination

  • nice... Autumn Leaves Duet... i also have the Quan II bridge... i'll never replace it... but... i've added some foam rubber to dampen a little... the notes tend to run on too long... i'm looking into a dampening device like what Mike put on his bass... see "Mike Masuda's Fender PJ bass (part 1 of 2)"

    cheers!

  • is that a regular pbass the one that sells for $550 or so?

  • @jmelchor29 its a Mexican model, I bought it in 2007 for £400 then invested some money in the extra stuff. it probably costs more to buy new now

  • ok im dying, what song is that?

  • How does it compare to the early 80's Squier Fender bass made in Japan?

    CHEERS!!!

  • I have a MIM P-Bass with maple neck. Changed the pickguard for a mirror one. Added Gotoh 201 bridge and Seymour Duncan SPB-3's.

    So beautiful!!

  • Nice! Autumn leaves! Awesome arrangement! :D

  • oh its one of those mexican p basses with the crappy truss rod.

  • @Stevespeeze, dude.. this plays amazingly, I've never had to adjust it that much so it makes no difference...

  • @Stevespeeze Someone is mad they paid too much.

  • Bad ass dude!

  • Hey man, Got another question, I'm some kind of p-bass for christmas & I want to take off the pickguard or scratchplate off the bass to make it look a bit different like to customize it! So does all p-basses look like yours did when you took it off at 1:03in this video thanks!

  • @Jordo1900 alright! well I've only ever owned 1 p-bass. the scratchplate is partially to protect the electronics and pickups so I guess you could just have a plate over the volume & tone knob and then maybe a chrome cover over the pickup possibly? the options are endless! I'm thinking of putting in a new stingray pickup by the bridge when I get the money for it!

  • exept for the detuner key I've built myself the very same bass :)

  • Im thinking about getting a custom bass made too. Theres this sweet site called warmoth, theyll make u a custom bass body for around $300-350. So this is my idea, a jass bass body, get it cut out to have a p-bass neck pickup, j-bass bridge pickup so i can have a j-bass and a p-bass in one because with the jazz body its got 2 vol knobs, one for each pickup. My idea was to turn one knob all the way up and one all the way down to either play with a p or j pickup so it'll be real versatile.

  • @brady1is1crazy1awsum brilliant mate! if you think it's the best option, as much as I'd love to leave my bass to the hands of a pro, I can't afford that but I'm more attached to it because I did all the work to it.

you're referring to the aerodyne bass! the black jazz one has a p-bass pickup and a jazz one at the neck. if its quite a common pickup choice on fender shaped basses!

  • @brady1is1crazy1awsum USACG is cheaper, and better than warmoth. also, the pickup configuration you mentioned is fairly common, if you can, i'd say go 3 pickups, P-bass, J-Bass, and Musicman if you can. that'd be sick. a real versatile bass there.

  • @brady1is1crazy1awsum why not just get a Deluxe active pbass?

  • Did you do any type of alteration to the color? Because in the first couple of pics it looks more of a "off" white, and later on it looks ALOT more white. But then again it might just be because of lighting, flash from the cam, etc.Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, i'm just wondering because i'v played bass for awhile now,and im looking to get a p-bass, and im planning to do almost the exact same thing you did to yours, except with SD antiquity pride II pickups =P

  • @bobsagetbillgates no there's no alteration! only the dents and wear its gotten over the past few years :p

I think the colour only looks more white as the scratchplate has been replaced so the bass colour has no other whites to compare to. also.. yeah the newer ones were done with a different/better camera.

Im actually planning on adding in a musicman stingray pickup in the bridge when I can..

  • i know you did forked out a lot of time and money to customise your P bass bro..but your aerodyne still looks the best on its own without a single touch ;)

and i bet it plays better too. right? =]

    cheerios!

  • @stingray614 nah the p-bass still plays and sounds better to be honest. and frankly I actually wouldnt recommend the aerodyne to anyone. the body's too thin and the tones a little weak when playing more harder rock stuff!! Ive lately bought a sunburst fretless jazz bass though! absolute beauty!

  • @olithebass really? wow! because Duff McKagan uses it and personally, he's a fan of the aerodyne lol.

anyway, good to hear someone's point of view =]

have fun playing bass! bass rules ;)

  • Sorry to comment 2times but im getting a p-bass and was wonderin i was gonna take the pick-guard off would it stay like it did in 1:06 if i did please write back

  • @Jordo1900 hey, its alright!, well the pickups are nailed down but the electronics aren't really fixed on.. the idea of a scratchplate/pickguard is to protect it... and make it look more awesome :p, I suppose if you want to make all that stuff visable you could possibly search for or make some form of transparent/translucent scratchplate!

and to answer your previous question! I've posted up video lessons of songs on my new youtube profile. 'oliplaysbass'

    regards, Oli

  • would you put some covers up please

  • @Jordo1900 gladly! check out my new account. search oliplaysbass theres newer stuff up

  • @olithebass hey man nice job.. Jus eonderin bout the drop d tunner switch..? Did tha come as a stock piece r did u put it on..?? :D cheers..!! :D

  • @MrGallaghers it comes as a whole new part that you screw on. theres a youtube instructional video of how to put it on correctly and take care of it!

  • nice work man, looks sexy XD

  • I did the same with mi Fender Jazz Bass MIM, only i put a bridge Schaller 2000

  • Nice bass! But, I prefer P-Basses with maple neck, than rosewood

  • @Dugger1997 ditto the next basses im gonna get if my band gets signed are a mexi p bass with a black pickguard a sunburst jazz bass with a red tortoise picguard a black jazz bass with a red tortoise picguard a black jazz bass with a black picguard and a musicman 1996 stingray. not bad choise aye?

  • you've just copied my bass! haha. kiddin

  • i've done the same to mine except with a white tortise pickguard. the body of mine is the same color. i play in a ounk band so those spb-3's work great for me.

  • Good job there! Though I thought the original pick guard works better there.

  • Came out real nice looking.

  • this is the only guitar/bass with the name fender tht i like

  • i have this one in black with a mirror pickguard.I'm going to install a drop

d-tuner and maybe those seymour duncan pickups.

Is it really an upgrade or more a downgrade :)?

  • Nice.

  • That's got to be one of the nicest looking basses I've seen. Even better, you cutsom -made it. Take care of him.

  • Is that a sword in the background at 1:55??

    What the fuck?

    Nice bass though.

  • it certainly is! :)

thanks! I use mainly my aerodyne now though. prefer the tone and feel

  • It looks great. I have a Fender P-Bass Mexican Standard the same colour as yours was originally and I want to put a new scratchplate the same colour on it.

  • Hi. I've been thinking of installing some SD Quarter Pounders in a P-Bass. How do you like them? Nice work on the bass by the way. =)

  • nice choice of autumn leaves

  • either way it looks good

  • looks nice

  • richard podmore is on you tube just type in podmore in youtube its on the first page

  • i've the same bass with the same custom specs!!! but the bridge is the factory one. did the badass some changes? it really improves the sound?

  • yup, sounds better and looks better with it on.

Im still yet to file the grooves for the strings but if been fine so far when I have money to give it a proper set up

  • same stuff on my bass, except mine is a jazz bass (MIM)

  • that music is awesome!

  • Yeah! Congrats.

I own a "custom" P. Bass also. At first it was a 02 MIM PBass. Now, the neck is that, all other parts (except the CTS pots) are news (original Fender USA pickup, Gotoh tuners and bridge...). Great bass now.

And good work with Autum leaves. Five stars!

  • hahah this is just too good to be true. man i did exactly the same with my MIM arctic white P, same pick ups etc. literally.. but the only diff is that its gone back to the factory bridge as i moved my BA2 bridge to my jazz bass!! good stuff!!

  • white + tortoise = win!
