Music is God's gift to mankind. There is not a single place in the Quran where it says Music is Haram.

You are greatly mistaken. Yes, music is Haram from the teachings of Quran. How? Read where it says "obey the Messenger of Allaah (saw)". Thats where it says music is Haram. The Prophet's teachings are crystal clear. He never approved it (not generally), never participated in any form, nor did his Sahaba (raa) who understood Quran & Sunnah better than anyone until the last day. This is a heinous plot by music industry to capture potential 1.5 billion "muslim" music addicts.

@shaunadams. Perhaps the mistake is yours, dear friend. The Prophet (PBUH) actually did participate and watch. If you research, you will find that he actually stopped his company Abu Bakr (RA) from stopping those that were enjoying music. Furthermore, he even asked a wedding party to take singers / musicians because he knew that those in Medina loved music.

The music industry is new, but since the dawn of man, every culture has had music, and Islam does not disrespect anyone's cultural norms...

FYI, by the grace of Allaah I have researched to the best of my ability and found that the music is not Halal. Your line of argument is unsubstantiated at best. Pls go back and read both stories yourself to understand the context. Out of 23 years of Prophetic period only 2 (out of context) references? What about Sahaba and their Sahaba. i may not know a lot about music being haraam or not ..but there is not a single aayah in the quran that clearly states that music is haraaam..but true there is an aayah which says that men and women dancing close to each other and stuff is haraaam..ppl say that singers nd muscisions will get punished on day but we do not know what if it is haraam or halaal now..some ppl say haraam others say halaal..so i'm still in a confusion about this matter..and i am a muslim...=)

But the Hijrah Occoured on the year 622AD. THEN the Qur'an WASNT COMPLETELY revealed. It was completed in the year 632AD. When it was completed everything which is Haram and Halal was defined well by the Qur'an and the Sayings of the Prophet (Peace be upon him).

I said that a large no. Of companions of the prophet Drank Alcohol before it was prohibited. THis does not make it lawful it for us. The Companions gave it as soon as the ayath was revealed.

The prophet was the most Purest since his birth! Others were purified after embracing Islam. Like Umar (R.A) who was ready to kill the Prophet before

And in conclusion Ishanhades; Drinking Wine wasn't prohibited the day on which the first Surah was revealed! It was forbidden in 3 stages, i hope that u know that. So even after Islam SOME COMPANIONS drank wine and alcohol; would u accept it if i drink whine and say " O hey, the companions drank it too; so why not me"

Remember one thing! Ishanhades! If you see an entertainment channels of Egypt; you would lock the channel in fear of your kids sneaking in to it. Egypt is a so-called, Islamic country which is Arabic! Some Arabs have dogs as pets, they drink alcohol (esp in Dubai).

It is not haraam to own a dog as a pet.dogs are also animals created by god.Dog saliva is considered unhygienic and islam asks people to wash their hands or clothes if hey have contact with it.the prophet refered to one particular black dog when he said that dog was the devil or demon.Just thought id clear it up because muslims treat dogs like shit and abuse them which is whats really haraam.
