awesome video-firefighters are overpaid pompous douchebags that believe their own hype. 9-11 was a lie. TAXPAYERS FOOT THE BILL AS USUAL. your time will come hero-boy
@stopthemaddnessnow The fact is firefighters deserve what they get and work hard to get that job they have. Are their bad and firefighters in the world yes but, you can say the same thing for any job. As for you insinuating that firefighters are uneducated 70% of the LAFd which is the 2nd biggest department in CA. have at least an associates degree not to mention they are cpr, emt wildland red card, paramedic, and firefighter 1 certified. Just curious what your occupation.
Perfect!!! Big reason why CA is so screwed! Let's take Chino Valley Fire, Rancho Cucamonga Fire, and Ontario Fire for instance; A handful of fires a year, mostly car fires, 90% medical calls, and way over the top fire stations and equipment. Plus most of these stations sleep all night. They love signing up for the OT, especially if it's on the truck. Some of these guys are fat ass slobs too. These clowns are laughing all the way to the bank all the meanwhile screwing the taxpayers.
i cant speak for all of us firefighters but most of us do not do it for the money i know there is no1 in my department that do it for the money cause we make pennys
This cartoon is one sided and highly inaccurate. If there's a problem with overspending in your state/county/city, then take a proactive step and vote when it's your chance. Don't blame people who are trying to make a living just like you are.
obviously liberals can't understand why people who risk there own asses and skins time and time agian for others get paid well. Ironically I thought liberals where all about "you helping out others".....
I can't believe what I'm reading/hearing. I wonder how many of you people would go into a burning building. Blind from the smoke, not knowing the layout of the building and endure the intense heat. Most of you would cower and pussy out. Many have no clue what a firemen does for a living. Exposing themselves and their families to third world diseases. Take a firefighter class before you start talking about something you have no clue about. . This is from a 31 year veteran EMT/FF
Just a hate filled bashing of pussy bastards what really pisses me off is lil bastards that complain that a person is getting a bigger piece of pie they complain like they didn't have a chance themselves if you bitch about some guy doing a job try doing it yourself because ur right these huge dangerous fires don't happen everyday but they DO happen and when ur wife or kid is inside still u suit up and go in with a good chance of getting burned up with ur buddy to when those days DO happen these
Well iv done army and firefighting and u people bitch way to much not everyone makes it 50years even IF you do you may not become a chief probably won't the ranking isn't guaranteed at all and there's a big difference between how volunteers and a paid that actually went to academy learned fire science and hazmat ops no shit life isn't risked everyday its not risked every day in the army or marines either. This stupid comment board went from talking about the political aspects and money to
bash firefighters all you want but we'll still save your house or business when it's on fire, extricate you from your vehicle when you're trapped in there, save you when you're having a heart attack, keep you safe from haz mat spills, etc 24/7 365
Anyone can choose their career. If we have it so great, welcome aboard! The difference in wage and benefits is wildly different across the state and country. Even in CA some departments make little more than minimum wage, altough some make much much more. It's ignorant to cite facts that are only one sided.
@foutsfan72, Your comment is naive and purposely inaccurate. First why not give all the thousands who apply jobs as ff's? Why not have the govt give everyone a good paying great benefits job too, there is plenty of money to go around, right? Second why not provide an example of a minimum wage fire dept. I can't seem to find one in the LA/OC/SD metro area where average total comp is below 125K per years. Those number come right from the city payroll data.
@stopthemaddnessnow You are jealous and bitter and make comments that only are in your favor. If you stopped making little cartoons and tryed to better yourself, maybe you could have a better job and not be such a little soapbox whiner. Firefighters in Northern California make peanuts compared to the areas you cite, which happen to be the most in the state. Look at the USFS, are they rich??? Cal Fire???? Small local gov. departments with 1 station??? No, you are wrong, don't generalize.
@foutsfan72 I think you are missing a lot of his point. Pay level aside, fireman in this country, in the last 5-10 years, have developed this gargantuan hero complex. They make videos touting how they are all heroes, risk their life every day.and are better than everyone else. True heroes returning from wars dont EVER want to be called a hero, yet moder fireman BEG to be called heroes. No one job in our society is more important than others. Just tone it down a little, fireman.
Yes clearly you are a sophomore based on your sophomoric responses. If you want to see the 125k number, go to any city in the LA/OC/SD metro areas and look at the city payroll records, don't take my word for it. Add in benefits and the numbers is much higher. Also, everyone knows not all public safety personnel are in good shape, so that argument is baseless. Besides I am in far better shape than your average public safety goon.
@stopthemaddnessnow If you would have taken the time (which I am sure you have a lot of considering how many pathetic and worthless videos you have) to go through all 36 pages of that payroll list, you would see that an entry level firefighter in LA starts at a modest $42,000 a year. Nobody gets to 125k overnight you bafoon. Those are the guys who have worked their way to the top and have been there for 20-30+ years, if not more. Your information is completely biased.
@stopthemaddnessnow if you had a brain cell, you would understand that their chief makes 125k a year. their chief has probably been in the department for a good 30-40 years. if you took a minute to scroll through every page of the payroll, you would notice that firefighters start out at a modest 40k a year.
@corksterism that's the best you have? I understand you think I am wrong but look at the facts. Politicians feed you complete bull shit that is biased and incorrect to get your vote and help their greedy corporate friends.
Now that's funny...Almost every fireman I see over the age of 30 is an overweight pig. I've been in the public safety field for 14+ years, and can say without a doubt that most firefighters are prima donnas with a hero complex thrown in. Overpaid? Absolutely. Risk their life every day? Hell no...
@Luthaak you are so right,....so many firefighters have this huge hero complex....they want you to believe that they risk their lives on a daily basis....the truth is.that being a firefighter is not even in the top list of the most dangerous jobs....
@sophmooreswimmer they live longer because their job isn't NEARLY as dangerous as they want you to believe,...construction workers, convenience store workers, electricians, fisherman and even truck drivers get killed on the job more often than firefighters,....they just run around telling everyone they are Americas heroes, and they really believe it.....
@corksterism my parents are firefighters. have you ever done a ride-along at a station? youtube is probably the highest degree of education you have completed which is why your argument is pathetic and incorrect. ever notice how many more construction workers, convenience store workers, electricians, fisherman, and truck drivers there are compared to the number of firefighters?
You can't compare firefighters to soldiers. Of course the hardest and most dangerous job is going to war. The question is; do we need to send people to war? And who is deciding to invade countries?
Huey Long proposed a 100% tax on fortunes over 100 million, reasoning that no one needs more money than that amount. Maybe that is where the money should come from?
The rich have the middle class fighting among themselves with the result being less money for all the workers.

Why do you not treat your armed service personnel as well as you seem to treat these firemen? Surely they are the real Heroes. You have got your wires crossed somewhere if you believe that firemen deserve the kind of salaries and other benefits mentioned here when your servicemen and women are putting their life on the line EVERY DAY and for a pittance by comparison. Only in America !!
@0771924965 so true. The latest most dangerous jobs list out doesn't even have firefighting in the top 15. Yet firefighters make it sound like their lives are risked every day. Its getting pathetic.
I know many firefighters who in 30 years of service only put their life on the line a couple of times. They are not heros. Some firefighters do heroic things but with the advancement in fire technology the fire is usually out before tehy even get there. So I dont want to hear about how they are heros and go to work everyday not knowing if they will go home. Chances are they will be going to the river the next day with their 100k boats
Whoever made this video is actually correct. I have driven an ambulance for years now and am trying to get on to a fire dept for the simple fact that they have so many days off, huge salaries, get to screw around all day, and can retire young with more pay than most hard working citizens. 92% of the calls run are medical. So they just give the pt over to the emts on the ambulance and send them to the hospital so they can go back and sleep. The system is broken and needs to be fixed.
Firefighters, paramedics and police officers are all insurance policies.... The in case shit happens people that are there for you when you need them!! Granted there aren't fires and other emergencies everyday but rest assure when shit hits the fan, those people are there risking they're lives to save yours!! Then I see the comment about volunteers, well how fucked up is it for a firefighter to die and not be able to leave anything behind for his/her family! Why don't you look at the true probl
"Nationwide, states have a combined $689.5 billion in unfunded pension liabilities and $418 billion in government retiree health care obligations, according to data collected earlier this year by The Associated Press. Those benefits are protected by state law s"
Come trade places tough talker.... You can be CEO of my corp.... see if you can make money... I FUCKING DARE YOU... all I hear is puked on this and so brave that... COME TRADE PLACES.....PUT YOUR MONEY...Where you MOUTH is...
-Pensions, its FACT during our careers we will be exposed to smoke and many other things causing cancer and other deseases. Look it up. I get an email about twice a week for a brother who died in the line of duty from cancer. 30 years is a full career of being puked on, pee'd on. Running into buring buildings. Doing things the average person doesn't want to do! Try joining the military... I hear those guys are lazy too and not hero's.. guess what they can retire after just 20 years!!
@caitylynn1234 You seriously just compared firefighters to men in the service, try going to afghanistan for 7 months, watching your friends limbs being blown off, being shot, being killed, and getting paid SHIT money compared to firefighters who at most do what, get exposed to some smoke, give me a break
@klecarner some smoke? that has to be one the most ignorant things i have heard in quite a while. Look up HCN ( Hydrogen Cyanide ) it is found in many manmade plastics how much plastic do you have in your house? The fire isn't always the deadliest thing on scene.
Big deal...yes taxes are criminal..but dont we all... Im talking about TRADING your Firehat+grossly overpaid SECURE paycheck+retirements+benefits+ media manipulated HERO status GOVERNMENT JOB.. media manipulated to cover up the inside of 911btw.. ....for my business in the private sector..a business WITHOUT Govt contracts that the government....ENJOYS fucking...THAT HAS TO MAKE A PROFIT TO SURVIVE.... I wish you luck son.
Wow..its been a week..and numerous hits to the vid...and NO HEROs have stepped up to the plate to take over my... thanks to the fucking Govt now WORTHLESS business in the private sector...Today papers served to collect debts...last month IRS...endless bill collector calls...selling things to keep the doors open... pension..health insurance..??? ha !!! and YOU GOT A FUCKING COST OF LIVING raise... Come on HEROS talk is fucking cheap... Leave your Email address and well trade places tomorrow..
Notice NOT ONE FIREMAN has offered to trade me places... Come on HERO's !!! the line starts here...go ahead put your names down and well contact you to trade places...
But IM HERO and DESERVE!! Well Mr Fucking Hero lets trade your Firehat for my business in the private sector and Ill take four days off and go get nice new RED Chevy truck with Dick sticker on the left of the rear window.BTW..Good luck Mr. Hero with things like the IRS ,accounts recievable and Product Liability Insurance let alone make a fucking profit. Like you would have any idea what that shit is.

Ya if they think they have fucking balls... and deserve this STOLEN money.....well HERO buddy...turn in your firehat and come take over my business in the private sector.
I suppose you'll next go after Emergency Room Physicians and Nurses who so skillfully deal with the wave of poor immigrants flooding the ER, and the insane and challenged who were released by Reagan.
Yeah, so does this mean you the "film-maker" are willing to become a volunteer and give up EVERY Thursday EVERY week, and some Saturdays, to attend drill and risk your lazy ass life, and be woken-up at all hours to help others in auto accidents, fires, toxic spills, elderly falls etc?
Try it for a year as a volunteer with a pager, then come back and see if your point-of-view doesn't shift a wee bit.
I agree with the "highest paid month worked" issue for pensions bloat in California.
RockyWilburn, 911 was over 10 yrs ago and it was in New York bro. Why do you feel entitled in California for what those firefighters did? At least cite something relevant like oh I don't know...how about the wild fires California has every summer. Knucklehead...just proof that you don't deserve anything above $65-70k/yr.
You know whats funny... These idiots wont call 911 less because they dislike us or think we get paid to much. When the calls stop then we will be out of jobs and our pay checks will stop. If you think you can be a Fire Fighter then come do it and get paid. Or Bitch behind the scenes from your computer. We deserve everything we get. The bitch in the video prob sits behind a desk all day and makes 50k a year. Apparently our lives are not worth much to the public.
Great video! Keep up the good work! I don't blame the firefighters, I blame the system. When presented with such a profitable opportunity, who wouldn't jump on that? What makes me sick is when they think they actually deserve it.
This is hillarious. I love it when overpaid assholes like firefighters cry poverty and hero bullshit. They can not believe that the truth is getting out. I told my nephew the same thing. He went into the Airforce and trained with a local fire company. He admitted I was right. They sit around and play xbox, shoot basketball in there brand new multi-million dollar firehouse (tax payer funded), and actually said they wouldn't know how to put out a fire in there town it had been so long.
Just to let you know, the compensation figure didn't get below 200k until I got to over 500 fire fighters down the list. That is just for the Bay area.
Please do not listen to me or the propaganda spread by ff's on this comment board. Do your own research if you don't believe the video. A good place to start is here:
@stopthemaddnessnow thanks for this post man.... you pretty much summed up all the things that i have known for some time. and on top of that you only need 6 months of education to get paid that amount.. outrageous!.. I am glad you posted this. my cousin is a firefighter and that hero bull shit is just that.. bull shit.. he works 2 days a week, moonlights at a hospital, and spends all his money at the strip club. How these guys are milking the people is almost criminal!
@stopthemaddnessnow this is pretty ridiculous. do you understand why some fire fighters make so much? because the department is understaffed. Being understaffed means that overtime positions must be filled. This is why a lot of fire fighters make so much. The politicians sell this crap that fire fighters make so much and their budget must be cut but this only worsens the situation and causes the need for more overtime. Oh and by the way, you spelt MADNESS wrong.
i agree with this vid.. the firefighters union is really sucking off the government trough. if saving lives was a priority, than you should complain about your pay and pensions. Making 120K a year is outrageous for only 2 days a week work. and on top of that to have most of these people have moonlight at hospitals or have second jobs.. what about diminished capacity? if you are working more than 40 a week now you are puting peoples safety at risK!!!!
clearly you know nothing about the fire service and have never needed to call 911. Or maybe you just didn't get hired because in your interview you said you wanted to get paid to work out and look cool. NEWSFLASH im a volunteer firefighter and have never come in contact with any paid firefighters or departments that "sit around the station waiting for a call to come in or shooting hoops." If a city or district has a paid department is it becasue they get multiple calls a day
The three days a week a FF works add up to as much, if not MORE hours than an average work week. As for pay, Cops, Teachers, and Firefighters should all be getting paid a solid six-figure salary. Sports players should have their money stripped from them, and given to public servants instead.
@GUMMYBEAYUH Uh, more hours/wk, while they're sleeping, working out, or making/eating meals? Hardly. If you're on private sector salary in this country, good luck working less than 50-60 hrs a week, including off-hours work and weekends.
@thereinliestherib LOL. In my city were lucky to get though a full meal, or get more than 5 hours of sleep a night. And I've never met a firefighter yet who enjoys sitting around at a slow station. They come onto this job becasue they want to be out there helping people.
@LFDFireFighter18 Nobody said it was easy to be a firefight he is just saying you are just like sports players you get paid to look big and tough and save somebody from a building thats on fire Spiderman does that shit all the time and he's not in a Union
@kiaokenmaster your such a jack ass you no what i fucking make an hour 10.75 how is that robbing you fuck you you piece of shit I dont do it for the glory or too look big an tough im 5'6 I cant be to be being so short I do it to help people with out people like me who would be the one to give an old person cpr cut a kid out of a burning car pull someone that got ejected from a roll over in an accident do you think I like seeing that shit? no I dont go fuck you Id like a retirement also asshole
@kiaokenmaster firefighters in this day and age do SOOO much more than just save people from burning buildings. Every day they respond to multiple medical calls, car accidents, or any number of Miscellaneous problems including but definitely not limited to water leaks, bee swarms, rattlesnake removals, or simply helping someone unlock their car when they accidently lock their with a child inside.
@swisscowswiss Oh be honest now! Most of it is forklifting obese ladies out of their trailers, dumbasses who tried to remove their lugnuts with a shotgun, methhead science projects, or unnecessary calls to assist elderly hoarders. If you wanna know the real reason American HC is so expensive, do a ride along with a FF and observe the wonderful reasons people put themselves in the ER!
The Koch Brothers are laughing at this as they light their cigars with $100 bills. The top 1% makes over 1/4 of all pay in America....the top 1% OWN 70% of ALL ASSETS IN USA....the income inequality seen during the 1933 Great Republican Depression is EQUALLED AND INCREASING NOW due to GOP policy. Thats it working poor people...FIGHT FOR THE CRUMBS!!! The overworked unions vs the Private Sector Wage Slaves. OH the Billionaires LAUGHHHH!!!!!!!
@boredjoewo The left can class bait all they want, but the primary economic-depressants for the working/middle class are left wing regulations, unfunded liabilities, and parasitic welfare programs that have never proven their effectiveness. Sure, a young working class kid might be a friggin genius, and may even get into college, but they get sandbagged by loan-risk costs of others, higher tuition because DEMS raid higher ed, higher health insurance costs because of obesity rates, etc, etc.
Let's see you talk shit about firemen when they drag your ass out of your burning house. My grandpa was a captain for the Fresno Fire Department, and I'm starting at the academy this year. I'm doing it to help others, not to sit on my ass and get paid for it.
@DonTheCritic OH SORRY, I GUESS YOU ARE (NOT QUITE YET) HERO AND DESERVE. Go sell that non sense somewhere else. Plenty of others work just as hard for far less in the private sector and are happy to have it. And they don't belong to a monopoly union run by a bunch of thugs.
@stopthemaddnessnow I never said I wanted to be a "hero"; I said I wanted to help others in their time of need, and yes, it's a great job that I can support a family with! Like said, my grandfather served and retired as a captain. Right now, he's laying in a hospital bed dying, so when you say they can burn in Hell, yeah, I take GREAT offense to that! My grandpa was/is a great man, who's lived an INCREDIBLE life, one tthat his wife, children, and grandchildren will always remember!
@DonTheCritic 3 tours in Iraq, and I get paid a third what my friends do state side who are firemen. They brag about how they sit around all month playing xbox, and working out. It is bull shit.
Department making $970.00 every two weeks. I realize you’re talking about California and I don’t know the situation there, but they are saying the same thing here in Texas. Not to mention most people can NOT effectively do my job. That’s way most building fires in areas serviced by volunteer FDs are total losses. They also tend to have higher budgets that paid fire departments of the same size because they spend their money on “cool stuff”.
Cohnway Mathew Johnson, James Arthur Harlow, Damion Jon Hobbs, Dwayne Frances Guillory, Grady Don Burke, Kevin Wayne Kulow, Jay Paul Jahnke, Kimberly Ann Smith, Lewis Evans Mayo III....Line of duty deaths 2000-present. Not to mention 2 personal friends in my 8 years that died of cancer (both young and in empeccable shape with no family history of cancer).....but your probly write, being a firefighter is not that dangerous anymore. When I changed jobs 2 years I started with the Houston Fire
Think you guys in California have Firethugs? Our Firefrauders in Las Vegas Average $180k per year! Many make well over $200k! Some have topped $300k. Call in sick 300 to 1100hrs a year! They make this kind of money by calling in sick and covering each other for time and a half, and after they retire we keep paying the 6 figures and hire more thugs. They should all be fired and forced to pay the money back. Firethugs make me sick!
There is no reason to make that kind of money. You choose your occupation knowing the pro's and con's of it. If you think you don't get paid enough for what you do you can go find a job doing something else. I am sure there are alot of people that would fill your position. The town I live in and surrounding area's all have volunteer firemen. They do it for the love of helping others. Government workers are almost as over paid as professional athletes.
Again, all posts should begin with what YOU do for an occupation. Let's compare. All jobs are different, I act nothing like the character in the video. I rent, support my family and drive a 7 year old honda civic.
@foutsfan72 OK, my occupation is a commercial fisherman, Crabbing in the Bering Sea, good enough for you? Firemen don't even reach the top 10 in terms of being a dangerous job. Being a crab fisherman is 14 times more dangerous than being a fireman. Do we have a pension, no, do we have medical, NO, do we get paid for being on the ocean for 24 hrs a day weeks at at time, no. What we get is what we signed up for and know the dangers without wanting someone to call me a hero.
Really? I never said or know of any Firefighters who want to be called heroes. Really, I choose my career, you yours. I never said we should be paid by how dangerous our jobs are either. Its society. Kids want to be firemen when their little, not for the money. When people are in a wreck or their house is fire, they want to see us. this cannot be predicted, so we are ready at all times.
Also, I have never met a kid that wanted to catch crabs when grow up or be on a boat with tweekers and felons. I also never had a patient or fire victem ask for a crab catcher instead of a Firefighter. Also, we need people like you to catch crabs for the rest of us because it's so dangerous, people with educations are too smart for that! Now go catch me some butter!
My sister-in-law went became a nurses aid; in return for her training, she agreed to work at the hospital for a year. For one, there are paid apprenticeships in skilled trades. Anyway training to fight fires, etc. is part of the job of being a fire fighter. I can also say the people may apply, but not everyone is suited for emergecy work. I found out just becoming an EMT was not a good choice for me.
@foutsfan72 Wow! We're talking about checking and stocking merchandise ,just that kind of thing? Are we also talking about medical, dental, and vision? And pension?
The dept. I work for pays no where close to what some of the other depts. pay and there are still way more applicants that there are oppenings, but quantity is not quality. Wash out rate is very high after they realize its not like TV. Fighting fire and saving lives is not the hard part. Its living with all the ones you couldn't save no matter how hard you tried. There is no amount of money that can change that. Only othre firefighters can understand this!!
Everyone has a choice on what career path they wish to take. Lots of jobs have their perks. Firefighters dont make as much as lawyers, doctors, dentists, mayors, Gov. officials, movies stars etc. Shoot, the checker at my local grocery store makes more per hour then I do. I pay into my retirement, medical, 401k so that I can have the things I do. I miss birthdays, holidays, anniverseries, and weddings due to work. I'm not home with my family everydat either. Most have 2nd jobs as well.
@foutsfan72 You're putting firefighting on par with the level of education, work load, and stress of being a doctor, a lawyer, a mayor or movie stars? That says it all. That's like saying it's unfair to be an overworked cook, so you should be paid the same or near as much as the president of the company you work for. Hardly.
Well, not all Fire Departments work the same work week, have different benefit pakages, and make different saleries. Not all contributions are the same, some have to work overtime due to the city, county, or state refusing to hire more people. Overtime is cheaper then new employees. Some places are extremly busy and you do not sleep at night. Some places have all paramedics as Firefighters. Most places employees will not recieve social security, Most Firefighters also put money away in 401
@foutsfan72 The facts are correct, in fact I have referenced them in many posts. Why don't you reference your facts instead of making simple remarks with no basis.
Medical services are expensive because of government regulations driving up costs. Regulations also reduce competition, meaning we would get better and cheaper medical services in the free market.
As for fire suppression services, it is the owner of the property to purchase those services. If one is too poor to afford fire suppression services, then he cannot afford the property. On the free market, property would be at least 3 times cheaper, considering all taxes and regulations we pay today
And how are firemen not heros? They get up and run to help you everytime your dumb ass calls 911. What would you do if you dialed 911 and nobody came to help you? Its pretty fucking honorable that someone would want a job thats purpose is to keep ungrateful people like you all safe. I think they deserve to make good money. And I understand that other people have dangerous jobs too. But how can you compare a job that is simply to help a business make money to a job that is meant to save your ass
I respect the idea that maybe pay is too high in CA. I dont know what they are paid so I have no comment on that. But to the rest of all these negative comments, Fuck all of you. Why do you think paid departments came about? People stopped volunteering you idiot. Its even happening in my county right now. The solution is to pay people to do that job.
And if your job was so dangerous why does firefighting not even make the top 10 most dangerous jobs. Truck drivers die more often then firefighters so maybe we should start calling them heros. By the way I am a paramedic on an ambulance and I make $13.50 an hour. Firefighters easily make 3 times that much and do way less work on a daily basis
@robodingleberry Really? Where I am from, the firefighters are the paramedics and EMT's. The same guy who put out your house fire or rescues you from your vehice is the one who is also saving your ass in the back of the ambulance. The firefighters I know def outwork you.
@fire73rescue And they are also the ones who are raping the taxpayers. I'm not saying firefighters don't have a role, I'm saying they are overpaid for what they do. No matter how strenuous or dangerous you want to make firefighting seem, the fact remains that there are thousands of people who apply for every opening because the pay is so high. The laws of supply and demand say that the pay should be lowered until the number of applicants is proportional to the number of openings.
@robodingleberry I want to start off by saying I really do respect paramedics. My mother is one. I do understand that during these times we may need to reduce police and fire salary because the money isnt there. But I dont understand the lack of respect for the men willing to give up their lives for others. And why arent people attacking politicians salaries? They make much more then any firefighter, but noone is complaining about that. Dont take money from the people who actually deserve it
@robodingleberry Also, maybe you havent seen the dangers of firefighting but I have. As a volunteer I have been in a fire that nearly had me trapped on the second story, nearly had part of a structure fall on me that was large enough to kill me, been placed into a scene where I could have been shot trying to save a cop. So maybe you havent seen these dangers, but I have experienced them first hand. Im not making this up to sound cool. Its actually what we through.
@robodingleberry A member of my department had recently ran into a house fire with no breathing apparatus or hoseline to pull a woman out of her burning home (he lived closer to the scene then he did to the fire house). He risked his life for another person. How is that not strenuous? How is that not dangerous? And how is he not a hero? Im not saying that firefighters are all super heroes, but I am saying we deserve respect for what we do. That is why all of these comments are upsetting.

Let supply and demand do its work. Every time there is a job opening on the fire department, there are literally thousands of qualified people who apply. What does this tell you? That the supply of people willing to become fire fighters far outweighs the demand. So you overpaid, entitled firefighters need to realize that there are plenty of people who are qualified and willing to do your job for much less money.
Until you start running into burning structures, going to mvc's with decapitated people, dealing with dead children, treating shooting/stabbings, or any other horrific sights on a regular basis. Stop complaining about pay. Everytime i leave for work i kiss my wife and kids goodbye, knowing that before i see them again i may be burned, paralized,or killed.
@stopthemaddnessnow i'm not a hero, i am a firefighter. i'm also not from california, i'm from new york. I have been in the FDNY for the past 5 years. hero is someone like my uncle who was on the job for 25 years. He retired to "his millions" shorty after 9/11 with a bad back, burns, and a head full of memories of all his friends that were killed that day. Can i ask you how much should i make? What do i or any other firemen deserve? Thank god you can make those decisions for me.
@notobeanassbut The video is about CA, read the descr. However, I have heard that you are overpaid in NY too. As for your pay, you should make as much as it takes to fill all of the positions. That means you have to rid the dept. of nepotism (which exists because the pay is so outrageous), and figure out the least amount those thousands of qualified apps. will accepts. With unemployment at 10% I suspect that number will be south of 50% of what it is now, and that is for total comp.
@stopthemaddnessnow I know its about CA, thats why I told you that I was from nyc. I'm just wondering what kind of job do you have? And thank you for giving me a 50% pay cut.
@notobeanassbut..........What about the loggers who kiss their wives and kids goodbye everymorning (5 days per week) knowing he may have a log, rock, rootwad of cable kill or injure him at any moment. This so you have wood to build a house with and paper to use for what ever.
@LarryReiber your gonna compare a job thats purpose is to make a company money, to a job thats purpose is to help people and save lives? Dont get me wrong, I respect those people for doing those dangerous jobs but come on. A logger isnt a hero. Is he running to the emergencies of everyone around him? What is he doing that is life changing to me? He is a worker not a hero, sorry. Soldiers are heroes, firefighters are heroes, paramedics are heroes.
@LarryReiber What about them, i'm not saying that they dont deserve the money that they get. They do work 5 days a week, and so what i work 2 "whole" days a week. Loggers dont get up at 0300 to cut trees down, but if someone is in trouble at that time i am out of bed and out the door on the engine in 45 seconds. Their are plenty of profesions where people put their lives on the line. I'm not saying any of these profesions deserve any less then they are making now, why should i?
@stopthemaddnessnow lol you are really slow in the head, few fries short of a happy meal. Are you some sort of white collar worker who is dissapointed with your pay and feel the need to push everyone down because they make a good living and dont slave away in a cubicle? Instead they are HELPING people..
There are two ironic things about this post.. Fire fighters pay taxes too. A fire fighter making $120,000 a year is probably paying more real dollar and percentage of income towards taxes than a guy making $50,000. Secondly, it doesn't matter if you make $50,000 or $120,000 it all ends up in the hands of the top 1% anyway. So why even bother bitching? You want to be the one giving it all back to the top yourself or what?
@NickQuick420 I will take your failure to a acknowledge the flaw in your statistical argument as a admittance to that fact that you are wrong. Now where to start with this BS. So I guess we should pay FF's more so they can contribute more to the tax base. Only problem with this logic is that their pay comes completely from taxes. Nice ponzi scheme. If I take a buck from my left pocket and put it in my right pocket, am I really one dollar richer.
@stopthemaddnessnow You're not understanding my point... Look your saying fire fighters are making 120,000 a year. I'm saying that's pre-taxes. Their actual take home pay is less than $120,000. Which means the state government isn't ACTUALLY spending $120,000 real dollars a year on fire fighters income
There is a novel idea...respond 18 year olds on private ambulances to the disaster. You will get a wealth of experienece, absolute medical knowledge, and a 900 dollar ride to the closest emergency department. Wow..... what a visionary we have here folks. Here some sound advice for you . Go see a proctologist "stop the madness"...they may be able to help you find your head.
Secondly, Median income doesn't really mean shit. Have you ever noticed that if you add 1 + 100 and divide it by 2 it's 50.5. No where NEAR 1 or 100. Median can be an extremely misleading number... Ever heard of standard deviation? Much more important than a simple median.
@NickQuick420 Once again a troughy trying to mislead people. You are correct that when there are only two data points that a median is worthless. However in this situation the data points are in the millions and therefore extremely relevant.
@stopthemaddnessnow Yet again, it's only relevant in the context of the standard deviation. More data points doesn't mean a more accurate avereage. Dude, if you took a million people and assigned half of them a number between 1 and 10 and the other half a number between 90 and 100. Added them up and dvided them by a million guess where the number would be? Somewhere in the middle. That is my point. The standard deviation tells us HOW MANY of the data points are close to the average.
I even did the math for you.. Let's say you have a million people and the assign them all a number between 1 and 10 and 90-100. That means 50,000 people each have either a 1-10 or 90-100. Now, if you took each person's number and added them together the total would come out to 55,000,000 (you can do that math on your own since i don't have the space here). Now if you divide 55,000,000 by a 1,000,000. Guess what the answer is? 55!! How many people actually have 55 as a number..NONE Point Proven
@stopthemaddnessnow Granted, I kept the math easy by giving each number out evenly, but the core principle remains the same. The average alone doesn't tell you shit without knowing the standard deviation.
@stopthemaddnessnow Just to correct myself.. the standard deviation doesn't tell us how many are close, but it tells us how far the majority of the data points deviate from the average. Either way, the average is a useless number unless it's couple with the standard deviation. :)
@NickQuick420 I think that you might actually understand statistics. Therefore you are either being intentionally deceitful or are just plain stupid. If you know stats than you should also know that your standard deviation gets smaller as the sample size gets larger. Therefore a sample size of several million will produce a sigma of no significance. Therefore your point is pointless. Unless you have credible source to show the stats, than please take your propaganda elsewhere.
@NickQuick420 Ah yes, the "you disagree with me, so I will threaten you with my state granted monopoly powers" argument. Always amusing. BTW you only need to hit the button once, seems to be a recurring problem with your type.
@stopthemaddnessnow dude, do you even live in California? We have a fire SEASON every year where the state routinely has to bring in fire fighters from other areas to contain the MASSIVE wildfires. As far as "threatening you with state monopoly powers" i'm just speaking the truth. Who else will put out the fire? It's a simple question about the reality of fire service in California.
BAHAHAHA!!!!! THIS IS HILARIOUS!!!! I DON'T AGREE WITH IT ALL BUT IT IS TRUE FIREMEN ARE OVER RATED AND OVER GLORIFIED! BUT I AM UNION FOR LIFE! IBEW LOCAL 47 BITCHES!!!
- We are allowed to go to be after 9pm, most of us don't sleep through the night. In case you didn't know, people call 911 at night too.
- we show up to fender benders with our big trucks because YOU call us so you can claim to your insurance company that your neck hurts so you can sue them.
- Don't hate unions. Start one and start defending your rights.
@marcelor73 Fact: The union wanted the big red trucks to respond to car accidents not because the victim wanted it, a police report would suffice to sue with, but because it ups their response stats and keeps more union members employed. A single paramedic ambulance run by a private company with an EMT and one paramedic would be fine for car accidents. Next time you drive by a fender bender with a big red truck count the number of guys standing around picking their noses.
Anyone who agrees with this video is ether misinformed or just plain stupid! It amazes me that people think this way? If you or your loved ones were in that crash, house fire, having a heart attack, etc. you would (BEG) for and expect Firemen to risk there (LIVES) and or provide the best medical care possible. And that is what you would get! That is what the public pays fore! And that is what they get even you! Let the cowards sit behind their computer and preach Bullshit!
@cmharrelson Once again this post is nothing more than the "I AM HERO AND DESERVE', argument. It displays perfectly the type of attitude and narcissism that inspired the video in the first place.
@stopthemaddnessnow If you dont think you are worth rescuing, save the taxpayers money and turn off your phone. There money saved and the world has one less spiteful asshole
@stopthemaddnessnow Do you even know why Fire trucks get put on vehicle accidents. The obvious is for entrapments. But even if there is none, The vehicle serves to block the responders from traffic. That way if one of you rubernecking assholes isnt paying attention and drives right into our scene, you only cause damage to a truck, and dont kill people. Also, it takes alot of hands to deal with multiple trauma patients, if your handling the situation right. Your an idiot
What are you talking about? The Federal Government puts laws in place to defend our rights and protect employees. Only 20% of employees are in a Union. The rest of us are doing just fine, and getting what we deserve. You, on the other hand, are getting way more than you deserve... at my (and other tax payers) expense...
awesome video-firefighters are overpaid pompous douchebags that believe their own hype.

Just curious what your occupation.
dolfanandlakerfan 3 weeks ago 4
5150pt 3 weeks ago
@5150pt
All that stuff in those station is purchased by the firefighters from that station how they choose to use their money is their choice.

Anyone can choose their career. If we have it so great, welcome aboard! The difference in wage and benefits is wildly different across the state and country. Even in CA some departments make little more than minimum wage, altough some make much much more. It's ignorant to cite facts that are only one sided.
foutsfan72 4 months ago
@foutsfan72, Your comment is naive and purposely inaccurate. First why not give all the thousands who apply jobs as ff's? Why not have the govt give everyone a good paying great benefits job too, there is plenty of money to go around, right? Second why not provide an example of a minimum wage fire dept. I can't seem to find one in the LA/OC/SD metro area where average total comp is below 125K per years. Those number come right from the city payroll data.
stopthemaddnessnow 4 months ago
@stopthemaddnessnow You are jealous and bitter and make comments that only are in your favor. If you stopped making little cartoons and tryed to better yourself, maybe you could have a better job and not be such a little soapbox whiner. Firefighters in Northern California make peanuts compared to the areas you cite, which happen to be the most in the state. Look at the USFS, are they rich??? Cal Fire???? Small local gov. departments with 1 station??? No, you are wrong, don't generalize.
foutsfan72 4 months ago
@foutsfan72 I think you are missing a lot of his point. Pay level aside, fireman in this country, in the last 5-10 years, have developed this gargantuan hero complex. They make videos touting how they are all heroes, risk their life every day.and are better than everyone else. True heroes returning from wars dont EVER want to be called a hero, yet moder fireman BEG to be called heroes. No one job in our society is more important than others. Just tone it down a little, fireman.

@sophmooreswimmer
Besides I am in far better shape than your average public safety goon.
stopthemaddnessnow 4 months ago
@stopthemaddnessnow If you would have taken the time (which I am sure you have a lot of considering how many pathetic and worthless videos you have) to go through all 36 pages of that payroll list, you would see that an entry level firefighter in LA starts at a modest $42,000 a year. Nobody gets to 125k overnight you bafoon. Those are the guys who have worked their way to the top and have been there for 20-30+ years, if not more. Your information is completely biased.
sophmooreswimmer 4 months ago
@stopthemaddnessnow if you had a brain cell, you would understand that their chief makes 125k a year. their chief has probably been in the department for a good 30-40 years. if you took a minute to scroll through every page of the payroll, you would notice that firefighters start out at a modest 40k a year.

@sophmooreswimmer
Now that's funny...Almost every fireman I see over the age of 30 is an overweight pig. I've been in the public safety field for 14+ years, and can say without a doubt that most firefighters are prima donnas with a hero complex thrown in. Overpaid? Absolutely. Risk their life every day? Hell no...
Luthaak 4 months ago

corksterism 3 months ago
@sophmooreswimmer they live longer because their job isn't NEARLY as dangerous as they want you to believe,...construction workers, convenience store workers, electricians, fisherman and even truck drivers get killed on the job more often than firefighters,....they just run around telling everyone they are Americas heroes, and they really believe it.....
corksterism 3 months ago 3

0771924965 6 months ago
@0771924965 so true. The latest most dangerous jobs list out doesn't even have firefighting in the top 15. Yet firefighters make it sound like their lives are risked every day. Its getting pathetic.
corksterism 3 months ago
I know many firefighters who in 30 years of service only put their life on the line a couple of times. They are not heros. Some firefighters do heroic things but with the advancement in fire technology the fire is usually out before tehy even get there. So I dont want to hear about how they are heros and go to work everyday not knowing if they will go home. Chances are they will be going to the river the next day with their 100k boats
kawikid1727 6 months ago
Whoever made this video is actually correct. I have driven an ambulance for years now and am trying to get on to a fire dept for the simple fact that they have so many days off, huge salaries, get to screw around all day, and can retire young with more pay than most hard working citizens. 92% of the calls run are medical. So they just give the pt over to the emts on the ambulance and send them to the hospital so they can go back and sleep. The system is broken and needs to be fixed.
kawikid1727 6 months ago
Firefighters, paramedics and police officers are all insurance policies.... The in case shit happens people that are there for you when you need them!! Granted there aren't fires and other emergencies everyday but rest assure when shit hits the fan, those people are there risking they're lives to save yours!! You forget, or ignore that:
• Firefghters can and do die and get injured on the job regularly
• On their long shifts they are away from children, family
• It's very hard on the body to wake rapidly and respond immediately to ANYTHING
• FF's are continually training and improving their LIFE-SAVING skills
• Risk serious back injuries carrying injured people
You also misrepresent in the video the majority of FF's as leeches who disdain the public.

This is hillarious. I love it when overpaid assholes like firefighters cry poverty and hero bullshit. They can not believe that the truth is getting out. I told my nephew the same thing. He went into the Airforce and trained with a local fire company. He admitted I was right. They sit around and play xbox, shoot basketball in there brand new multi-million dollar firehouse (tax payer funded), and actually said they wouldn't know how to put out a fire in there town it had been so long.

How these guys are milking the people is almost criminal!
glaeken2424 10 months ago
@stopthemaddnessnow this is pretty ridiculous. do you understand why some fire fighters make so much? because the department is understaffed. Being understaffed means that overtime positions must be filled. This is why a lot of fire fighters make so much. The politicians sell this crap that fire fighters make so much and their budget must be cut but this only worsens the situation and causes the need for more overtime. Oh and by the way, you spelt MADNESS wrong.
sophmooreswimmer 4 months ago
i agree with this vid.. the firefighters union is really sucking off the government trough. if saving lives was a priority, than you should complain about your pay and pensions. Making 120K a year is outrageous for only 2 days a week work. and on top of that to have most of these people have moonlight at hospitals or have second jobs.. what about diminished capacity? if you are working more than 40 a week now you are puting peoples safety at risK!!!!
glaeken24 10 months ago
clearly you know nothing about the fire service and have never needed to call 911. Or maybe you just didn't get hired because in your interview you said you wanted to get paid to work out and look cool. NEWSFLASH im a volunteer firefighter and have never come in contact with any paid firefighters or departments that "sit around the station waiting for a call to come in or shooting hoops." If a city or district has a paid department is it becasue they get multiple calls a day
swisscowswiss 10 months ago
The three days a week a FF works add up to as much, if not MORE hours than an average work week. As for pay, Cops, Teachers, and Firefighters should all be getting paid a solid six-figure salary. Sports players should have their money stripped from them, and given to public servants instead.
GUMMYBEAYUH 10 months ago
@GUMMYBEAYUH Uh, more hours/wk, while they're sleeping, working out, or making/eating meals? Hardly. If you're on private sector salary in this country, good luck working less than 50-60 hrs a week, including off-hours work and weekends.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib LOL. In my city were lucky to get though a full meal, or get more than 5 hours of sleep a night. And I've never met a firefighter yet who enjoys sitting around at a slow station. They come onto this job becasue they want to be out there helping people.

LFDFireFighter18 10 months ago
@kiaokenmaster firefighters in this day and age do SOOO much more than just save people from burning buildings. Every day they respond to multiple medical calls, car accidents, or any number of Miscellaneous problems including but definitely not limited to water leaks, bee swarms, rattlesnake removals, or simply helping someone unlock their car when they accidently lock their with a child inside.

@swisscowswiss Oh be honest now!

@stopthemaddnessnow I never said I wanted to be a "hero"; I said I wanted to help others in their time of need, and yes, it's a great job that I can support a family with!

BlownLS7 11 months ago
Again, all posts should begin with what YOU do for an occupation. Let's compare. All jobs are different, I act nothing like the character in the video. I rent, support my family and drive a 7 year old honda civic.
foutsfan72 11 months ago
@foutsfan72 OK, my occupation is a commercial fisherman, Crabbing in the Bering Sea, good enough for you? Firemen don't even reach the top 10 in terms of being a dangerous job. Being a crab fisherman is 14 times more dangerous than being a fireman. Do we have a pension, no, do we have medical, NO, do we get paid for being on the ocean for 24 hrs a day weeks at at time, no. What we get is what we signed up for and know the dangers without wanting someone to call me a hero.
Tubularwatching 10 months ago
Really? I never said or know of any Firefighters who want to be called heroes. Really, I choose my career, you yours. I never said we should be paid by how dangerous our jobs are either. Its society. Kids want to be firemen when their little, not for the money. When people are in a wreck or their house is fire, they want to see us. this cannot be predicted, so we are ready at all times.
foutsfan72 10 months ago

Most have 2nd jobs as well.
foutsfan72 11 months ago

newdarnaccount 11 months ago
@foutsfan72 You're putting firefighting on par with the level of education, work load, and stress of being a doctor, a lawyer, a mayor or movie stars? That says it all. That's like saying it's unfair to be an overworked cook, so you should be paid the same or near as much as the president of the company you work for. Hardly.
thereinliestherib 11 months ago
Well, not all Fire Departments work the same work week, have different benefit pakages, and make different saleries. Not all contributions are the same, some have to work overtime due to the city, county, or state refusing to hire more people. Overtime is cheaper then new employees. Some places are extremly busy and you do not sleep at night. Some places have all paramedics as Firefighters. Most places employees will not recieve social security, Most Firefighters also put money away in 401

DanMorin007 11 months ago
And how are firemen not heros? They get up and run to help you everytime your dumb ass calls 911. What would you do if you dialed 911 and nobody came to help you? Its pretty fucking honorable that someone would want a job thats purpose is to keep ungrateful people like you all safe. I think they deserve to make good money. And I understand that other people have dangerous jobs too. But how can you compare a job that is simply to help a business make money to a job that is meant to save your ass
fire73rescue 11 months ago
I respect the idea that maybe pay is too high in CA. I dont know what they are paid so I have no comment on that. But to the rest of all these negative comments, Fuck all of you. Why do you think paid departments came about? People stopped volunteering you idiot. Its even happening in my county right now. The solution is to pay people to do that job.
fire73rescue 11 months ago
And if your job was so dangerous why does firefighting not even make the top 10 most dangerous jobs. Truck drivers die more often then firefighters so maybe we should start calling them heros. By the way I am a paramedic on an ambulance and I make $13.50 an hour. Firefighters easily make 3 times that much and do way less work on a daily basis
robodingleberry 11 months ago
@robodingleberry Really? Where I am from, the firefighters are the paramedics and EMT's. The same guy who put out your house fire or rescues you from your vehice is the one who is also saving your ass in the back of the ambulance. The firefighters I know def outwork you.
fire73rescue 11 months ago
@fire73rescue And they are also the ones who are raping the taxpayers. I'm not saying firefighters don't have a role, I'm saying they are overpaid for what they do. No matter how strenuous or dangerous you want to make firefighting seem, the fact remains that there are thousands of people who apply for every opening because the pay is so high. The laws of supply and demand say that the pay should be lowered until the number of applicants is proportional to the number of openings.
robodingleberry 11 months ago
@robodingleberry I want to start off by saying I really do respect paramedics. My mother is one. I do understand that during these times we may need to reduce police and fire salary because the money isnt there. But I dont understand the lack of respect for the men willing to give up their lives for others. And why arent people attacking politicians salaries? They make much more then any firefighter, but noone is complaining about that. Dont take money from the people who actually deserve it
fire73rescue 11 months ago
@robodingleberry Also, maybe you havent seen the dangers of firefighting but I have. As a volunteer I have been in a fire that nearly had me trapped on the second story, nearly had part of a structure fall on me that was large enough to kill me, been placed into a scene where I could have been shot trying to save a cop. So maybe you havent seen these dangers, but I have experienced them first hand. Im not making this up to sound cool. Its actually what we through.
fire73rescue 11 months ago

So you overpaid, entitled firefighters need to realize that there are plenty of people who are qualified and willing to do your job for much less money.
robodingleberry 11 months ago

Thank god you can make those decisions for me.
notobeanassbut 11 months ago
@notobeanassbut The video is about CA, read the descr. However, I have heard that you are overpaid in NY too. As for your pay, you should make as much as it takes to fill all of the positions. That means you have to rid the dept. of nepotism (which exists because the pay is so outrageous), and figure out the least amount those thousands of qualified apps. will accepts. With unemployment at 10% I suspect that number will be south of 50% of what it is now, and that is for total comp.
stopthemaddnessnow 11 months ago
@stopthemaddnessnow I know its about CA, thats why I told you that I was from nyc. I'm just wondering what kind of job do you have? And thank you for giving me a 50% pay cut.

@notobeanassbut..........What about the loggers who kiss their wives and kids goodbye everymorning (5 days per week) knowing he may have a log, rock, rootwad of cable kill or injure him at any moment. This so you have wood to build a house with and paper to use for what ever.
LarryReiber 11 months ago
@LarryReiber your gonna compare a job thats purpose is to make a company money, to a job thats purpose is to help people and save lives? Dont get me wrong, I respect those people for doing those dangerous jobs but come on. A logger isnt a hero. Is he running to the emergencies of everyone around him? What is he doing that is life changing to me? He is a worker not a hero, sorry. Soldiers are heroes, firefighters are heroes, paramedics are heroes.
fire73rescue 11 months ago
@LarryReiber What about them, i'm not saying that they dont deserve the money that they get. They do work 5 days a week, and so what i work 2 "whole" days a week. Loggers dont get up at 0300 to cut trees down, but if someone is in trouble at that time i am out of bed and out the door on the engine in 45 seconds. Their are plenty of profesions where people put their lives on the line. I'm not saying any of these profesions deserve any less then they are making now, why should i?

There are two ironic things about this post.. Fire fighters pay taxes too. A fire fighter making $120,000 a year is probably paying more real dollar and percentage of income towards taxes than a guy making $50,000. Secondly, it doesn't matter if you make $50,000 or $120,000 it all ends up in the hands of the top 1% anyway. So why even bother bitching? You want to be the one giving it all back to the top yourself or what?
NickQuick420 11 months ago

Which means the state government isn't ACTUALLY spending $120,000 real dollars a year on fire fighters income

firejoey41 11 months ago
Secondly, Median income doesn't really mean shit. Have you ever noticed that if you add 1 + 100 and divide it by 2 it's 50.5. No where NEAR 1 or 100. Median can be an extremely misleading number... Ever heard of standard deviation? Much more important than a simple median.
NickQuick420 11 months ago
@NickQuick420 Once again a troughy trying to mislead people. You are correct that when there are only two data points that a median is worthless. However in this situation the data points are in the millions and therefore extremely relevant.
stopthemaddnessnow 11 months ago
@stopthemaddnessnow Yet again, it's only relevant in the context of the standard deviation. More data points doesn't mean a more accurate avereage. Dude, if you took a million people and assigned half of them a number between 1 and 10 and the other half a number between 90 and 100. Added them up and dvided them by a million guess where the number would be? Somewhere in the middle. That is my point. The standard deviation tells us HOW MANY of the data points are close to the average.
NickQuick420 11 months ago
I even did the math for you.. Let's say you have a million people and the assign them all a number between 1 and 10 and 90-100. That means 50,000 people each have either a 1-10 or 90-100. Now, if you took each person's number and added them together the total would come out to 55,000,000 (you can do that math on your own since i don't have the space here). Now if you divide 55,000,000 by a 1,000,000. Guess what the answer is? 55!! How many people actually have 55 as a number..NONE Point Proven
NickQuick420 11 months ago
@stopthemaddnessnow Granted, I kept the math easy by giving each number out evenly, but the core principle remains the same. The average alone doesn't tell you shit without knowing the standard deviation.
NickQuick420 11 months ago
@stopthemaddnessnow Just to correct myself.. the standard deviation doesn't tell us how many are close, but it tells us how far the majority of the data points deviate from the average. Either way, the average is a useless number unless it's couple with the standard deviation. :)
NickQuick420 11 months ago
@NickQuick420 I think that you might actually understand statistics. Therefore you are either being intentionally deceitful or are just plain stupid. If you know stats than you should also know that your standard deviation gets smaller as the sample size gets larger. Therefore a sample size of several million will produce a sigma of no significance. Therefore your point is pointless. Unless you have credible source to show the stats, than please take your propaganda elsewhere.

FACTS:
- We are allowed to go to be after 9pm, most of us don't sleep through the night. In case you didn't know, people call 911 at night too.
- we show up to fender benders with our big trucks because YOU call us so you can claim to your insurance company that your neck hurts so you can sue them.
- Don't hate unions. Start one and start defending your rights.
marcelor73 11 months ago
@marcelor73 Fact: The union wanted the big red trucks to respond to car accidents not because the victim wanted it, a police report would suffice to sue with, but because it ups their response stats and keeps more union members employed. A single paramedic ambulance run by a private company with an EMT and one paramedic would be fine for car accidents. Next time you drive by a fender bender with a big red truck count the number of guys standing around picking their noses.
