I know brain may can compose great music (Show must go on, who wants to live forever etc), but these kind of songs are just a waste of their precious time. Yes, queen had songs like this too, but that was not what them any good. They were harmonic, had interesting , quite complicated compostions. This just an easy-listen-away-song. I hope this influence is from paul rogers and that they will produce more queen-worthy , touching &original, material in the future
Hey guys it would be excellent if you guys could check out our band. We are really inspired by these guys(queen) and would appreciate any feedback you guys may have. The band is called Eightball (just click on gingerarse100) cheers guys
Hey man it would be excellent if you could check out our band. We are really inspired by these guys(queen) and would appreciate any feedback you may have. The band is called Eightball (just click on gingerarse100) cheers man
i have been to see there show and its briiliant its not the same with out freddie or with out john deacon on bass but at the end of the day life gos on no one is saying we should forget freddie of course not but im sure freddie would love all this. i love the original queen . but give paul rodgers a chance.hes good not freddie but still good cause hes doing these songs in his way
And why not? They have every right to call it Queen. They are the founding members of that band. They're not trying to be the Queen of old, they're going in a new direction. And they've achieved it. Small minded pricks like you should keep your opinions to yourself. Unless your dyslexic or just thick, it's "Queen + Paul Rodgers", meaning its Queen, and Paul Rodgers. It's one band made up of two entities. And they're making fantastic music. So either put up, or shut up.
obviously Rodgers didn't start the band. What does that got to do with it? Queen had four members, one died and one stopped his music carreer. But imo he still gets to decide what happens with the band but since he is a minority the other two have the right to continue and invite new members. And in this case it's Rodgers + Queen so he isn't even a real part of the band.
You mean 'Roger' Taylor, since you added a D I thought you said Rodgers but forgot the S. But I didn't know that about Roger, still doesn't change much. Imo all the longtime bandmembers should be alloud to vote and if not then by your logic it's up to May and Queen + Rodgers would still come to excist. P.S. Wiki says Roger was also a founding member, but not a reliable source ofcourse.
Well, my point is, they're just nowhere as good as they used to be during the Freddie era. I have major respect for all band members of Queen(except current lead singer...) But, I don't like the direction they took now. Mostly, I really don't like Paul Rodgers. I mean, he puts Freddie to shame; there's just no comparison there. There new albumn is all rock 'n' roll, 'cause that's all that Rodgers guy can sing. I would've liked it better if May and Taylor did lead...
Got to agree there, but I doubt they would be as good now as back then even if Freddie still alive. But your right atleast they would have done more then rock 'n roll. I haven't bought any new queen cd for the same reason but the thing is you can't replace Freddie. So it's either a new sound (Rodgers) or someone who is too much like Freddie. I think most fans would hate the second option even more. So I say let them do their thing, they have every tight to do it and enough people like it.
They wouldn't be as good now if Freddie was still alive? I'd have to disagree with that. Imagine if he was still alive, all the music contributions he would of made. So, the kids today could experience"real" music, and not all the garbage the media distributes today. I
but masta007i, a lot of great music probably would not have been made such as 'show must go on' and 'who wants to live forever.' i mostly agree with you though. it is all crap nowadays. idk, his smoking would have continued to hurt his voice though.
well first of all its who wants to LIVE forever. but yeah i guess you're right since it was written in 1986; but most of the songs on "Innuendo" are based off freddie's imminent death. so if he wasnt about to die, they probably would not have written those songs.
MASTA- Brian May wrote Who Wants To Live Forever for the movie Highlander, at the scene where the guy's true love dies and he is stuck living forever.
Yes I agree with not replacing Freddie. But, I mean, you really can't get anybody who even comes close to Freddie, so... I don't think you'd have to worry about that. And, for a new Queen sound, it shouldn't just be any sound. If it doesn't work, then they should't do it at all. I think Roger Taylor is good at all the rock 'n' roll stuff, and Brian could do other more softer songs. Like, John Deacon doesn't rejoin 'cause he feels it's not right w/out Freddie.
you are extremely biased, no respect for a man whos a legend in his own right? if you dont like him then dont listen to the music, obviously though you know nothing about the history of paul rodgers or you wouldnt have made such a ridiculous comment as "that all he can sing"!!!!
what the f*** are you saying? may, taylor and tim staffel (bass and vocals) were members of SMILE. than roger met freddie, present him to brian and they formed queen. in fact, roger had an important role in queen birth! you should re-read your rock-music-history!
Oh, Roger, you look sooo sad. Please wait for me. I will be there soon to put the smile back into your eyes. You are a blessing to us all and you deserve the very best love in your life. You are a special person! Never forget that. I can give you exactly what you need. You ROCK!!!
"Sock it to me" - that's so great. This is good, old fashioned, hand clappin', foot stompin', fun rock'n'roll. Thank God somebody is making this kind of music. There's enough of that pretentious arty Coldplay-esque stuff out there already. This is real, raw, down-in-your-bones rock'n'roll. Hail, hail. The Queen is dead; long live the Queen.
love paul ! love Queen ! you must notice that freddy is dead ! we' re all sad but we can't say freddy, oh freddy today its Queen with paul rodgers and not just Queen ! you must hear the new band when you don't like them ! notice that and stop crying !!!!!!!!!!
next week queen play in hamburg and i have cards ! i hope that will be a good concert ! in fact i know that !
@Kivlov11 The Cosmos rocks... the entire Universe works to better itself in order to accommodate True Love - scientists have agreed on this Vision, although they use different words. Freddie (whose name means "Elf counsel") has a large part to do with it, but you have to see everyone is rockin'. :)
just brilliant!!! what a perfect begin for the whole album!!! and i will see them at madrid the 25th october. can't wait for the 16th september! we got the hole house rockin!
It reminds me of 'Rock It' off The Game. I'm well impressed and it's the first song of the Q+PR material that I could imagine Freddie singing! Could Zeppelin or The Stones record something as good as this???
BLOODY MARVELOUS, JUST WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR AND EXPECTING, PLEASE TELL ME THEY WILL RELEASE IT AS A SINGLE. WELL DONE TO QUEEN & PAUL RODGERS!! SEE YOU IN BIRMINGHAM OCT 16th 2008!!!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaath a great song.
Many of the assholes from my high school that say that Queen is a shit and that it´s worse than reggaeton and all of those things should hear this.
If it is as bad as they say ¿Why has the MTV gave them a Global Icon EMA?¿Eh?

Awesome tune!
I love it.
Pays homage to the very roots of rock n' roll while having a touch of something new.
A natural opener for the tour and this must be the second single.
It has a fun and infectious spirit.
