  • Two years later and I am still OBSESSED with this routine! Haha, I love that you can hear me yell "Let's go girls!!" as soon as the routine starts

  • What's the name of this song?

  • This is awesome!!!! Im a dancer as well, but this inspries me to be as good as them!!! I watched this about a million times in a row!!!!

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gives me chills.

  • this is amazing, don't get me wrong but minnesota is still the state of dance. u of m gives an extra spice to their routine that i didn't get from watching tennesse.

  • That was so good the dance was very clean and they were all so together

  • I am a dancer for a recent- winning team for regionals ( WOOHOO ) and I have to say they were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Way to go girls!!!!!!!! :D

    EatSleeepDanceRepeat<3

  • WHAT'S THE NAME OF THIS SONG?

  • @vbrot11 seven nation army by the white stripes

  • @luvs2dance77 its actually a cover that splits to the cover by apocalyptica

  • Comment removed

  • go tennesee and ms.patrice

  • What song is this??

  • still blows compared to Hawaii pacific university dance

  • they should have won ! i fell their passion and emotion and soul thru my computer. it makes me just wanna get out there. like i wanted to cry for them when they came in second

  • @ohsofresh1026 Yeah the battle last year was much closer than this year. It honestly could've went either way in 2010... but you gotta love both MN and TN!!! They've definitely created a rivalry over the past few years and it's ALOT of fun to watch!!!

  • @jakel49 yeah i agree 100% because ive waited to see the two battle it out this year ! TN was better last yr ! thats my opinion. there routine last yr had sooo much power in it ! but next yr will be who takes the top

  • I lvoe this routine and I loved this years!

  • Once upon a time there was a dance team that KILLED IT!!

    The End.

  • they gives me chills at 0:46

  • Who sings this version of the song I cant find it anywhere!

  • @1girliegurl

The song is Seven Nation Army by Vyvienne Long

    (:

  • i think the only noticeable difference is the style. u of m has a lot more passion in their dance where is this dance is sharp and powerful the judges may have preferred a more passionate dance.

both dances were amazing in skill and technique for sure.

  • Oh my goodness! I love this. It's fabulous. I'm dyeing to know what this song is called? Can somebody please tell me? Thanks!

  • Maybe it's just me, but watching the dance teams compete is nowhere near as fun as watching them perform elsewhere. The fun, and in some cases, energy just seems sucked out of their performances at these events

  • what the heck. the choreography alone is the most ridiculous thing ever. dancers danced it so well they gave everyone chills! should have won!

  • AWESOME! Good job Tennessee! :D

  • I've watched this video over and over. I think TN should've won their dance showed alot of strength ans passion. The crowd was going crazy for them, but good job to both teams!

  • @jdccarter1 Because the crowd was all from Tennessee. Their cheerleading team didn't make it to finals so they had a LOT of extra time on their hands.

  • @MNCheer ok?

  • @jdccarter1 That was my reason to why the crowd was going crazy for them.

  • @MNCheer Tennessee also loves all their teams.

  • @jdccarter1 Of course. I'm not trying to say otherwise.

  • amazing....

  • the strength required for these movements are astonishing. i feel they should have won instead of minnesota because of the strength required for the movements and plus the control. i can watch this routine all the time.

  • song name ??

  • @Gaabrielle21 seven nation army by the white stripes but its a different version.

  • incredibleee

  • patrice barakat choreographed this

  • i still think that u of m deserved it even though that girl fell and during a turn that girl put her foot down.

  • where did they get their outfits? they are awsome!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMAZING!!!!!!!! X.X!!!!!!!!

  • aaaaaaaaamazing!!!! both teams did great. but i get chills with this dance!! LOVE IT! congrats

  • i don't know what the exact scores were, but this year, ia jazz belonged to this team and minnesota only. other teams were like no were near close to tennessee and mn, congrats.

  • im a huge ut dance fan but the poor sportsmanship has to end u of m was more deserving this year of the title....sychronization and passion was not comparable they couldve fell 3 times and still been better. it was the song the choreo the everything. worry less about lats year and focus on next year.

  • why didnt yall get first mann yall should have got it..yall were beast!!!!!!! :)))

  • which university of tennessee campus do these dancers come from?

  • @x0brizzz ut knoxville

  • Totally qoin dhere whn i qrad..

  • wow both were ahmazing!! i dont think it matters who wins or loses or who is better, both teams are amazing atheletes! congrats to both!

  • the end is incredible...

  • I really think they should have won over minnesota. i loved this so much more

  • yayy i love patrice!! she's so awesome. she choreographed my solo a few years ago!! she is brilliant!

  • AHHHH I LOVEDDDD THIS!!!!!!! both minnesota AND tennessee are both EXCELLENT jazz teams. all i have to say is i would HATE to be the judges!

  • anyone can tell me what´s this song please? or who sings it?

  • @bokitazjazz Its by Vyvienne Long- Seven Nation Army. Its a cover of the original song by The White Stripes

  • anyone can tell me who sings this song? or what´s the name of this song originally..........please....tellme someone

  • Who sings This?

  • @VanessaB1233 Vyvienne Long

  • i thought both teams where very goog and they have very diffrent strengths and weaknesses and personally i dont care which team won because whoever won it wouldnt matter and it dosnt matter who wins or loses dance is their passion and they love what they do regardless of all this bashing of the teams i see here in these comments. i think both teams have some very great characteristics so yeah comming from a 14 year old i say both teams kicked ass and all teams deserve respect!

  • who sings this version?

  • personally Tennessee should have won, creativity throughout this routine was through the rough and look at the pure strenght and flexibilty of Tenn's dancers. they are simply top notch and like no other

  • @misstoussaint89

Yeah but they don't carry that top-notch technique and synchronization that Minnesota does. Yes they are amazing and it was a close race, but this routine is just lacking that passion and energy that Minnesota has.

  • That was amazing!! Great job!! They should have won!!

  • where was the mishap? i couldnt find it.

  • wow. wow wow wow. chills.

  • I guess we should give Minnesota some credit since we kicked their ass for the past 3 years. GO VOLS!

  • @brookieo5 yes my mighty vols have kicked their ass for the last 3 years. but Tennessee will get the tittle back next year

  • @misstoussaint89

I don't think you have any room to be talking shit. Let me know when Tennessee has 5 UDA titles in Jazz, 1 title in Pom, as well as being chosen to be TEAM USA. And don't forget Minnesota has placed in the TOP 3 SINCE 2003... once your "mighty Vols" accomplished this then we'll talk.

  • @jakel49 and let's not forget that minnesota is now WORLD CHAMPIONS in jazz and pom, and placed second in hip hop at worlds as well.

  • Ten a key!!!! Love watching those girls at basketball games!

  • looooved this dance.

song is a white strips cover by kate nash for whoever was wondering.

  • @wildyownzJr it's actually vyvienne long's version

  • patrice barakat choreographed this!

  • the song id by damien rice and vyvienne long

  • Pause at 0:16. Un-freaking-believable.

  • who sang this song?

  • Anyone know who the song is by? I mean, I know it's Seven Nation Army originally by The White Stripes, but this is a different version. Who's the cover by?

  • I agree with BabyJazz007. The right team won. There technique and formations were a lottle tighter. But this routine/choreo. was VERY creative and entertaining. Kudos to the dancers and the choreographer. Congrats!

  • betsyau: The Uof M also did a quad or more toghether... Tenesse was also amazing!! I think the right team won though. Even though the U had mistakes they were still better overall. congratulations UofM on regaining your title

  • I just want to say... I was there and Minnesota might have been the better team technically...but TENNESSEE had the Crowd in the palm of their hands! I had chill bumps watching them... It was awesome!

  • everyone needs to shutup and realize how incredibly powerful that routine was. congrats to the dancers

  • Prt 3: No one should say that one routine was sharper than the others, its not about sharpness it's about cleanliness & YES there is a major difference. After looking at the mistakes & anyone can agree or agree to disagree :) but Tenn should have won. When I set there at the comp, I stated that Minn had won, but it was not until later I saw the fall & foot the foot touch-down on coupe turns. Mistake are going to happen because of the rush dancers have, but it is about HOLDING your own. CONT'D

  • Prt 1: I love dance politics for one, because nothing stands! So many things go out the window ON & FOR so many teams. I am speaking from an artist, performer, dancer, spectator, coach, & choreographers perspective. I was there not far from the floor. There should not be an arguementive factor upon what happen in prelims vs finals on team vs team (it should be only on that teams owns performance). Now both had amazing performances in Finals, but as artist we strive for the best...CONT'D

  • Prt 2: We perform towards "perfection". Months and months are set aside to learn, perfect, clean, adjust, and perform your routine to the best of your and the teams ability. Coach's express no mistakes. Minn had a girl fall in 2009, but Tenn's routine was too strong to be beat out by Minn in 2009. In 2010, Minn performed with their hearts and Tenn performed with Determination. BOTH routines were TRUE ART FORMS. Dance and does not have any boundaries (only set rules made by officials). CONT'D

  • anyone know what this song is called?!

    i love it!

  • Seven Nation Army

  • They are both AWESOME! But coming from a coach, Minnesota was much sharper and cleaner! The rest of their dance made up for one little mistake!!!

  • Obviously Tennessee knows how to perform like true champions and seasoned performers by being able to handle the pressure of finals with ease and performing a near flawless routine...wow wow wow...amazing job Tennesse Dance Team!

  • @jakel49 Thank you very much! :o)

  • what is the name of this song?

  • @andynjaci

Seven Nation Army by Vyvienne Long

  • Tennessee was ROBBED! point blank you don't fall and put your foot down and win. period. Besides the fact UT's entire team did a quad in perfect sync and 3/4 of the team did a cinc perfectly. UDA judges blew it

  • To Jake 149 and iLoV3toDance, I'm so sorry if you felt personally attacked by my post. Speaking to the facts, a MN girl did fall and another put her foot down during finals. TN had no "faults" during finals. How does that justify MN winning by 1.5 Pts. This is my last post. and again, sorry.

  • @TJenningssanrrcom

Yes MN did have some execution errors in Finals, but that shouldn't deny them the title. In semi-finals MN was flawless and TN had errors. I think both MN and TN had first place routines but MN had the better package overall. Their musicality was better, their choreography was more dynamic, and their technique and synchronization were stunning.

  • @TJenningssanrrcom

Yeah I understand your argument, she fell and another one put her foot down. That still doesn't justify Tennessee winning! You need to realize that there are many other aspects taken into consideration such as choreography, overall effect, technique, difficulty, etc. MN was penalized for their errors because their 12 point lead in semi-finals fell to 1.5 points in Finals.

  • look, somebody has to win and somebody has to lose. they're both really great dance programs obviously dominating the last 8 or so years. this year it was mn.

  • I was there. I saw the competition. For those trying to say Tennessee had nothing new. You were focusing on the only thing that was the same, the 7 sec. ponche, their signature move, and it was fantastic I might add. As for MNs routine, it was good, safe, simple, and flawed. A dancer in the back lt corner fell and another put her foot down. TN might have had a .5 spacing error, but thats it. At finals, TN was the clear cut winner. TN deserved 1st, but was denied for other unknown reasons.

  • @TJenningssanrrcom

I think you're missing the aspect of "overall effect" which is where MN clearly did better than TN. I'm not going to argue with you because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that's why it's up to the judges to decide the winner... and not fans. And by the way, you call MN's routine "safe" and "simple"??? Have you ever danced before???

  • Tennessee really needs to come up with some new moves is my opinion. they are good, but i think they are better than using the same repetitive moves year after year. Minnesota came up with a unique routine and version of their song. this version of seven nation army wasn't really great...it didn't do anything for the routine. I'd love to see them show their full potential with a better routine.

  • Even though Minnesota won the title, which I think they fully deserved, I can't deny the fact that Tennessee is AMAZING!!! I think it's safe to say that Tennessee definitely gave Minnesota a run for their money!!!

  • BOTH teams are VERY deserving of being such highly regarded dance teams. Dance is a subjective sport and it was obviously very close. My personal opinion is that judges shouldn't know which dance team is which...go to a number system or something because i bet results would be way different. Reputation definitely comes into play. On that note though I must say that if I saw both dances without knowing who was dancing I would still pick MN over TN.

  • I never thought of that. Not knowing which team is which. That would make a lot of sense.

  • @margold43 I completely agree with you. Although TN has a solid routine I am always in awe of MN's routine no matter how many times I watch it. I also feel that the use of an a capella song by MN really put an icing on the cake because it they use their bodies to produce the beat with the timing. To me at least

  • Love this routine. Who sings this song? Can't find it anywhere, so many covers of it out there.

  • WHY MINNESOTA DESERVED TO WIN...

dance is an art. we are proud to partake in a sport that is an art as well an athletic activity. tennessee's song does not PROVOKE, INSPIRE or anything of that such. MN's dance is a dream.

    3. watch the superbowl. teams that make mistakes can still win and you know what, there hearts are probably a lot bigger than the ones who think they're perfect.

  • @dancer0804 i dont think the superbowl is a very good comparison. it's obvious that dance competitions are always subjective while sports like football are not. and maybe tennessee did not provoke or inspire anything for you, but it definitely did for many people at that competition. once again...proving all of this is just a matter of opinion. you are welcome to believe minnesota was better, but no need to discount the talent of tennessee.

  • 100 percent agree!

  • thats COMPLETE BS! my high schoool dance team's coach was a board member and people always said that about us. we worked harder and we wanted it more. MN wanted it more and ill bet you they worked harder. they come from a legacy. they had gone 3 years without winning. they were chasing that TN tail and finally surpassed them

  • There's something to be said for having a nowhere near perfect performance on Minnesota's part and then having a flawless performance by Tennessee. Minnesota obviously was the better team even with those mistakes and the judges clearly saw that. 2 rings for 2 routines in 2010, way to go Gophers!

  • i love the use of the white stripes as their music and they were amazing too, no doubt!

  • both teams were great! no need to bash minnesota, i watched that dance and until somebody said something about the girl falling and putting her foot down I didn't notice! I had to rewind 3 times to find which girl put her foot down on minnesota's team. "Technically" maybe tennessee's dance just wasn't up to the judges standards? it's all what the judges want to see...for all we know they were .3pts away from winning, they could have lost it for facials or something dumb like that!

  • they were 1.5 points away from winning

  • Comment removed

  • The Minnesota dance makes me want to get up and dance myself...this is good and everything, but it's not moving like Minnesota's is. Their energy is so much better.

  • THEY SHOUD HAVE BEAT MISSESOTA!!

  • @MichelleChard

MISSESOTA??? i think you mean MINNESOTA

  • they are SO GOOD! I don't know how the judges picked between them and Minnesota, both teams were incredible!
