Thanks. Whenever I am in a new area, I train very hard before advance. I use Offense and Defense up on my party for every boss and down to. But the sound combo is still pretty hard to do since every enemy have a different battle music. If you get used to one you have to get used to another one.

Along with the beat of the music, you press the A button with right timing and you can do combo thus, more damage. The highest combo you can do is 16. If you use Duster ability that make enemies sleep, you can listen to the heartbeat which makes it easier to do.

Only a little. Some words and some characters. But for this, I had a translation guide from game faq and I memorize the moves and where they are placed. For the script, I had another translation and I read while I play it.
