  • Honestly if you want big chest and arms all you need is curls. This guy seems kinda like a noob because he's not doing any curls and he's not even holding the bar the right way (in front of you).

    and really curls ?? first of all theres no way curls use chest, curls target biceps,

    also if you want overall bigger arm mass then you need to work on triceps (alongside biceps) , since the triceps is a bigger muscle then the biceps, and for some it even responds better to training. and it makes up a larger part of your arms. ( i know your trolling , just helping anyone who reads it ..)

  • @xenonnati When you curl your pectoralis major also contracts. Also your deltoids and latissimuss (back muscle) have to work to keep your shoulder in correct form and lower back also works to keep balance. Curls are the best all body type of lift. They work the upper body and core. The things he's doing are just for show, just body building. Don't really work that well, but they're okay.

    by what your saying it sounds like you where talking about pullups/chinups rather then curls xD

    even if you use really heavy weight, and bounce around a lot, the stabilization work your core and back has to do is minimal,

    and when using correct form your upper back is stationary, chest isn't really activated, delts mildly activated, but still minimal.

    so other muscles besides the biceps the forearms and the brachialis(in the lower portion) nothing is getting a workout from curls.

  • high weight and low reps...but make sure you can atleast do 5-8 reps atleast...some people do heavy weights but can only do 3 reps with bad form...

  • @analwizard High weight low reps. Low Weight and high reps are used for cutting and toning your muscle. The more weight you do, the more muscle you'll build, and the more mass you'll have.

  • Im a sprinter and im not looking for muscle mass, but muscle endurance and more lean muscle mass and stuff like that, how much reps 15??

  • Just put more weight. I usually max around 300 pounds and I've only just started doing barbell shrugs (I'm 15).

  • mxdazn, if your goal is to build muscle then use a weight that allows you to complete 8-10 shrugs, once yuo can do this add more weight and keep going. Use this principle for all your lifts and you will build muscle, so long as you are eating right - lots of protein.

  • Exactly how many sets with how many reps should I do this? It's a great workout, but I am concerned if I am doing too little or too much.

  • noo is just desired weight that you can handle because if you use heavy you might crush your joints so just easy light weights okay
