  • This is ridiculous. Does not matter what color your bible is, it will get burned up, along with you all who try and make money of it when the great and terrible day of Yahuwah comes.

  • @ExPartyGirl I understand your red flags. I would like to get a copy and see what it says, but ya, the fact that it's filled with green movement kinda freaks me out.

  • wow- GREEN INK for the section that talk about creation? This DEFINITELY has alarms going off EVERYWHERE for me, and it should for all Christians. Great- I get the whole taking care of the land BUT the MESSAGE of the Bible is Jesus Cross- Salvation! huge alarm bells going off. One should also note that the whole "green" movement is based on paganism/mother earth belief system- that if we are "good to the earth, it will be good to us". NOt biblical!

  • Corynnchan and Kraviwannabe, friend me?

  • @Kraviwannabe I don't think they are doing that...I think, I see, this as a way to encourage people to take care of the environment and see that G-d wants us to honor and take care of the earth AS WELL as come to know him personally...I don't see how the Bible having TWO messages is a bd thing or taking away from the main one

  • this is a joke right? i see this as low lining tones of earth worship. wow! people who do not see this or do see it and still promote this garbage have to be messed in the head. This world is not our home. i'm not saying destroy it by any means, come on people! wake up!!

  • @efc7493 your misunderstanding what it is about. of course Earth is our home..heaven isn't until we are dead..I think those who aren't doing thier part ot care for Earth are going to be sadly disappointed when they face G-d on the day of judgement, I'm sure he will ask them "Why?" just as he would one who has turned thier bad on him.

  • Sinnerpeace, that is true. The earth IS ours to steward. And we should all be doing what you describe: talking to prostitutes, eating with tax collecters, etc. HOWEVER, the bible, God's holy word, should not be changed in the process.

  • @thelostcause it's not, they are only 'greening' the parts, that are in every bible, about caring for Earth...how is that a chance? It's not, it's only a chance in ink!

  • @thelostcause how is the bible being changed????? its NOT being changed....this is what no one here is getting ......ugggg this is like talking to a wall...

  • so here is my next question since there seems to be no stopping the judgmental tone here...what in the world is wrong with taking care of the earth that was created for us to steward???....careful folks your "churchianity" is showing here....there is a whole world around you...while u stay plastered in your pews some of us talk to the prostitutes, eat with the tax collectors and shake hands with the sick.....ummm I believe a Savior named Jesus first set the pace for this...listen before u judge.

  • @sinnerpeace I so agree! (sounds like a lot of throughing stones in glass houses you know)

  • this outrage over the Green Bible really disturbs me...NO: the green passages are not more important than the other passages...every faithful Christian knows this.....NO: THE GREEN BIBLE DOES NOT CHANGE ANY WORD OF SCRIPTURE.....stop this and listen....NOW!!

  • Isnt it interesting that Global Warming is supposed to heat the earth so much that the polar ice caps melt, thus flooding the earth as we know it. Perhaps these individuals who helped compile the green Bible, should have read it first. My question to these individuals would be whether or not they have they ever seen a rainbow? If so, then that right there is evidence enough to debunk the myth of global warming, see Genesis 9:12-15:

  • @31october1517 woe dude...the green Bible is the Bible in green..that is all....

  • @sinnerpeace amen!

  • This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh

  • this is what i think of whenever i see a rainbow.

    my covenant with god.

  • Secondly, the Bible clearly states that there will be a future global judgment, but this judgment will be by fire not by water. (see 2 Peter 3:10)

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (NKJV)

  • I like what some commentators have suggested about the rainbow, that the watery colors of the rainbow (the blue end of the spectrum) remind us of the destruction by water, whereas the fiery colors (the red end of the spectrum) give an indication of the coming destruction by fire.

  • I noticed on the website for this bible that Romans 1:20 is referenced. And in true "cafeteria Christian style, this verse is taken completely out of context. Paul is actually teaching that there are people who worship the creation more than the Creator. I wonder if verses 21 25 are in green letters?

  • Romans 1:22 25, Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, AND WORSHIPED AND SERVED THE CREATURE RATHER THAN THE CREATOR, who is blessed forever. Amen."

  • @AA32m7io1 and once again the pharisees spk not knowing who they spk too....there is nothing wrong with respecting the Lord's Creation ....there is nothing wrong with being respectful to the land we take from...that is not worship it is stewardship....

  • And this rebuke is coming from someone with Lady Gaga videos on their profile page. Sorry, but your walk talks louder than your talk talks - and what it says to me is that you really don't fully understand the message of the Bible.

And one other thing... see what jesusfreakrkg posted.

  • @sinnerpeace exactly!

  • From a religious perspective, Satan wants humans to stay uneducated about their health & how their food is produced, so the suffering of God's creatures can continue.

  • If you're eating an animal-centered typical western diet, you're eating a toxic diet that's going to eventually cause UNNECESSARY diseases. The western diet also inflicts horrific cruelty to animals that come from intensive factory farms. In a religious term that most westerns can identify with, SATAN is behind the deception of the typical western diet. Satan wants you sick and thinks it's great that humans are cruel to God's creatures!

  • Most churches do not teach to their congregation to be kind to God's creatures but there are many biblical passages that support this notion. It's blasphemy to be cruel to God's animals and to support the industries that inflict such horrific pain & suffering on to the animals.

  • ROFLMAO!

    What a crock of shit!

  • agreed. have you seen some of the "green lettered" passages in this? for instance, they say that one passage dealing with the environment is the parable of the sower. yes. you read that correctly. or Jesus telling his followers, "I am the vine, you are the branches."

The editors took EVERY OBSCURE reference to anything that seems to be natural, and essentially rapes the passage to make it conform to their "creation care" agenda. It is blasphemous.

  • @jesusfreakrkg it is simply the Bible with references to nature in green. good God people...careful your "churchianity" is showing.....THERE IS NOTHING CHANGED IN THE GREEN BIBLE FROM THE NRSV VERSION....take a look at it before you open your mouth to judge..

  • @Sinnerpeace LOL!! You imply I haven't looked @ it? wow. I am aware it is the inferior NRSV translation with the words not taken out. The problem isn't "is something removed?" The problem is the GB forces a "green" emphasis in Scripture where there isn't one. The green letters make the Bible mean something when any careful exegesis of the text will show that often the biblical text itself does not imply some green-friendly meaning itself.

  • Come on folks -- gimme a break. Have you people read the bible... The entire bible?

Its message is not 'environmental' in the least... it is a barbarous book filled with the sacrifice of animals and the slaughter of humans. God has commanded his followers to "kill every living thing" and to "salt the earth": he's even done it himself many times.

This kind of dishonestly and revisionism is simply amazing.

  • Honestly, the fools onhere that think this is leftist propaganda make me laugh. I lvoe the lord, and I love our beautiful earth that he made. When we disresepect it, it's like swatting the hand of the maker away and telling him that we can basically take a crap on what he made. Real reverent and respectful, folks.

  • and who says we are "taking a crap on it" calbert? Every Christian is taught to respect (not worship) the earth...

We are angry that we see the Bible has been "environmentally edited" & turned into Left wing propaganda, which then aims to justify your left wing money grabbing in the name of the "environment"! The GREEN words by the way are nowhere near as important that the ones you left black, like the 10 commandments, the sermon on the mount, etc!

  • Who said anything about worshiping the earth? This Bible is NRSV, I believe. Is your beef with that translation? Why do you call it editing? Were any words changed? Different Bibles are made for different audiences all the time. There are study Bibles, children Bibles, red letter Bibles, and now enough people think its important to highlight another theological theme with this Bible.

  • When I die, I don't think St. Peter will care about whether I payed attention to this leftist crap or not.

  • This just makes me laugh. Its funny to me that Christian's need green ink and highlights to point out that their God wants them to take care of the earth, as if that's some sort of new philosophy that has yet to be introduced.

Isn't it just obvious that we should quit being pious little snobs and give a DAMN about something other than ourselves? Isn't that part of the bible too?

    Holy Shit.

  • Stupid liberals! Trying to indoctrinate the unindoctrinatable through their religion. We love the earth just fine. We don't need you to jam it down our throats. To not have religion causes more problems than having it.

heynowcomeon: If you don't believe in something better than you, than how are you supposed to respect anything else but yourself, let alone the earth? Your religion may the worship of the earth, so are you saying that praising the earth is bad?

  • When are people going to realize that religion causes nothing but problems, even when intentions are good? All these people are saying is to be eco-friendly - that's IT! But HERE COME the conservative bible beating Christians preaching about the importance of unproven, AND so far unprovable, afterlife bullshit, as if the Earth we live on is merely a rest stop on the side of the highway. I for one, like our planet, and those who want to make it better are decent in my "book."

  • RE: "When are people going to realize that religion causes nothing but problems" Boy.... never heard that before... Do you realize that is exactly what the leader of North Korea believes?

the N. Korans are told that there is nobody 'higher up' than Government, and nobody to answer to but government either, and worship.... the government...

put all your faith in government... So your perfect world would be great, huh? Go back to your Dawkins CRAP

  • Hey, asshole: I never once alluded to government being the ultimate answer either, nor would I ever. You're just another self-righteous religious prick who thinks his/her beliefs are the end all be all. My point was that there should be no one criticizing a group for simply wanting to better the planet.

  • I guess only the GREEN passages are the important ones? What an insult!

  • What blasphemy! You take the Bible and highlight "environmental passages" to spread your Leftist agenda??? I have news for you all. Using God's name to further your own cause is the ultimate sin. The propaganda in this video is stunning as well. I mean..." With over 1,000 references to the earth in the Bible, compared to 490 references to heaven and 530 references to love", I guess LOVE and HEAVEN are not as important as your "Carbon Footprint" (which is BS to begin with!)

  • Damn, jmurphy. You have one crappy attitude, bro. Lighten up.

  • l-o-l

  • Wait a minute...why not care about the earth because it's where we live?? Why not care about the earth out of general human compassion?

What the hell is wrong with these people using a book so erroneous and laughable as proof for something that they could easily support with no religious tie-ins.

We need to care about our planet for the sake of caring about our planet....not because a mystical sky daddy said 'And it was good'.

    Scriptures...oh boy...what a laugh.

  • Hippies and christians banding together??? .... Sheesh this world is going to crap.

  • Take care of it, but do not worship it.

  • This book is a must read for anyone interested in Creation Care and who wants to become a better steward of God's wonderful creation.

I just finished the first 121 pages of writings before the beginning of the Old Testament. They are very powerful and point you to the most important verses to read.

Let's hope lots of Green Bible Study groups explode in every country. Together, along with other people of faith, we can Shift things exponentially.

  • ok yall i mean God gave us the earth and although He will renew it, it doesnt mean we can trash it and make it a mess. This isnt to say that God is not in control cus He totally is when it deals with global warming or stuff like that but its to say that we should help Him out and in the mean time while he prepares himself to renew the earth, we should keep it clean cus i mean... who likes to live in a dirty place....

  • Interesting concept. Kind of odd that we'd need a study Bible for folks to figure out what the book has to say about taking care of the world God's given us. The attitude that says, "God is going to destroy and re-make the earth, so why take care of it now?" is the same attitude that says, "God is going to forgive all my sins, so why stop sinning right now?" Backwards, selfish, and presumptuous.

  • Yeah, let's take our focus off of Jesus Christ and put it on earth and nature. Because mankind's biggest problem is not sin, but rather our carbon footprint.

  • Mother Earth? That's paganism. To answer the question, "What does God say about the earth and taking care of it?" Well, if one prayerfully reads the Scripture itself, the answer will reveal itself.

  • About time that Christians started to respect God`s Creation and respect Mother Earth, before it is too late.

We either look after what we have, or we lose it.
