Hi how are you doing. i'm a student at Old dominion university and i have plans of doing this conversion as part of my senior design project....maybe you can help me out with it..or if i have any questions...possibly contact you. seems like u reallly didnt have to do too much for ur conversion which would save me some dollars
Thats why I adjusted the air intake (Throttle now) to run full speed. I tested this using 3 high wattage heaters that added up to about 4500 watts and it had no trouble compensating for the different loads being applied all at once or one at a time.
It looks like you have the governor unhooked, the generator can't compensate for loads without a governor no matter what fuel you're running on, without a governor you'd have to manually adjust it. Remember 2 pole generators like this have to run at a steady 3600 RPM to get 60 Hz ac at rated output voltage. AC voltage that's not between 50-60 Hz can damage electronic equipment.

very very nice - i'll have to pick up a HF generator and do this conversion to power some machine tools. Thanks for saving me about $400
