i think i know what happened. when you got past the fire barrier you wern't supposed to be there your supposed to be either dead from the fire or you jumped off the bridge triggering a cutscene. But scence you broke that barrier and went past it i think the game was trying to fix itself by killing Link because he wasnt supposed to be there

If you are in wolf form and you get onto one of the pedestals with a fairy in a bottle. Jump towards the opposite side of the bridge when the flames are just about to reach you. Run straight across as fast as you can and you can explore the other side for awhile =P. Games kills you eventually but you can still go through the whole area up to the gate in Hyrule Field.

that's because when you get to the dude, you're not supposed to be there, so when you kill the guy, the game automatically kills you itself, since you arent supposed to be there. it's like how in a mario game, you cant get up to a high enough ledge, and you need some type of trick to get up onto it

Damn, I hate it when this kinda thing happens, you can also get sudden death to Wolf Link as well here, get up on the side of the bridge like you would normally, and just hang on the side, nowhere near the flames, and then you suddenly die and fall and get a game over.

That's called "being in the right place as the wrong form". Similar, though not as exaggerated, examples in other Zelda games are getting the Requiem of Spirit as a kid (you randomly float in the air to make your height correct), and getting the Fairy Ocarina as an adult (you are squished to fit young Link's size).

If you do the back in time glitch instead of doing what you say to do you can skip buying the hylian shield and make things alot quicker. And another thing, if you continue on to where the twilight starts (on the big map it's the place above where castle town is)and get to the part where you get the scent of llia by sniffing her bag, you grab it instead of sniffing and as long as your holding the bag you will slide to the left at walking speed and be able to control it too.

u wanna know what happend well when u escaped from the fire the fire continued to start getting closer to the center of the bridge and since the game is programmed so that if u r still in the bridge u will die instantly and since u just crossed over the game acted like if u were in the bridge and the fire just got to the center.

The wooden sword doesnt burn because it was not programmed to. In the normal playthrough, you're unable to take the Wooden Sword to a place where it can be burned until you have the Ordon Sword. On the other hand, you can do that with the wooden shield, so they programmed it to burn.

Yes. If you don't do it before going into the Twilight for the first time, the gate to Hyrule Field is open, but Midna doesn't let you through. Also, I think Epona is gone (until Kakariko of course).
