  • IMF etc capitalist pigs, remember that you have had in Argentina, Venezuela, so we will nationalize everything that we steal.lost money will go to invest only to make hotels, mines, oil rigs etc, we will seize and the will take advantage of, to health spoof made the mistake to put their money in Greece.

  • Was it just me... or is this guy surrounded by a group of uninterested, passe, self-absorbed sacks of shit? Look at the manner in which those surrounding him, look at Joseph, during his speech. It's almost like, watching a German general, in 1937, speaking at a Nazi convention, suggesting that there may be some fundamental problems with their current administration and it's views, only to receive complete nonchallance from everyone around him...

  • @TokyoMetal777 *thumbs you up*

  • All officials from the IMF and World Bank are full of crap! They will go down!

  • Yes Joseph Stiglitz, the World Bank is needed no more! I must admit you are a genious!

why? since it is no longer a tool to lever political influence or any kind of influence over the "needed" government.

  • Great speech, interesting points made... The World Bank should consider

Mr Joseph Stiglitz ideas as they have lost focus of what their institution was all about, over the yrs they have became more in favour of the rich countries then the developing word. it is shame.

  • Was his goal to put everyone to sleep?

I think he might have succeeded pretty well.

Or at least to bore everyone to inattention.

  • i love thomas sowell and warren buffet and robert kiyosaki,,,

    these gentlemen are my favourites

  • Mr Neugebauer is twittering, texting? I guess this isnt important to him. Maybe he needs a new job?

  • world bank caring for ethical issues is like armies caring for peace

  • @robertojerez

Hey, they say we (Norway) have armies in Afganistan to promote peace...... i guess that makes sense........?

  • As an American I a m disgusted that we are forced to subsidize this monstrosity through taxation. It only rewards well connected S.O.B.'s.

  • USA go and find peace

    Bush is Support Israel

    Obama is Support Israel

    Isral is Genocide and Holocaust

    USA go to Den Haag!

    The International Court of Justice is w w w . i c j - c i j . o r g

  • powerful

  • Joseph Stiglitz seems like a good honest man. Most economists never deal with the ethical issue.

    Thanks for posting.

  • It's also time for America to end the Monroe Doctrine once and for all. Let Latin America determine its own destiny. If the people truly want Chavez, let them have him. Don't try to overthrow him b/c a few wealthy interests don't like the guy's policies. If these private pieces of shit hate it, I say, MOVE OUT of Venezuela!

  • The IMF and World Bank and WTO have become nothing more than puppets of the global capitalist-corporatist elites, including wealthy Western businessmen, elitist laissez-faire economists, corporate bureaucratic shills, and many more. Joe Stiglitz is a good man, one of the few truly caring economists who doesn't stand for the rich all the time, like idiots like Milton Friedman, who was nothing BUT a corporate shill.

  • @Whoo69 it's ironic that the opposite is more true. you have bought their propaganda big time

read 'economics in one lesson' by henry Hazlitt. it was written in 1946, but is more applicable now than ever.

  • Scum carpetbaggers and enslavers of the world. Power hungry bastards.

    Good bye Constitution.

  • Did he write his whole speech?

  • That Neugebauer is a real schmuck

  • World bank (the beast) rules all mwahahahahahaha. You have no government, They

have already marked you by letting them pull off the biggest lie in history, if you supported Bush you are marked by the beast.

  • china owns the world anyways

    imf-wb irrelevant

  • Europe just replaced the US as the world's number 1 economy.

  • The EU, yes. Individual states, no.

  • The EU soon follows the us path.

  • "promoting growth in the developmental world" is just another way of saying we need more slave labor by opening up third world countries to corporations (NAFTA, Free Trade) World Bank is a load of crap.

  • Did you notice that a certain Neugebaur playing with the cell phone during the testimony? How shameful.

I googled him and found that he a republican congressman from Texas. He is big on doling out pork to the renchersand famers in his district in the form of subsidies- that are a thorn in America's trade negotiation, and keep the worlds poor mired in poverty.

We should take away his cellphone and ask him to pay attention.

  • bit of a legend really.. agree with last two, just other tools to establish and guard america's powerful economy.. bastards!!

  • money doesnt need a home-land when you got it spread around the world.

  • DITTO WHAT BOPN SAID!

  • Scrap the World Bank and the IMF. FREE THE WORLD

  • If nations could do without them they would. What would you replace them with? If the answer is 'something' then you are talking about reform. If your answer is nothing then you are dictating to the developing world, telling them that they cannot see their own best interests...as many chose IMF loans rather than doing without. We need major reform.
