Sadly Kirby's pretty low on the radar, shadowed by Link, Samus, Mario, and Pikachu.

People deem Kirby too childish. I'd like them to pick up a copy of Kirby 64 then see what they think.

@DreamlandMessenger I'm pretty sure Kirby overshadows Samus, seeing as Kirby releases games more frequently and has commercials. And most people think Link is Zelda, so that doesn't count. As much.

@soniathebat Sorry to shatter your dreams 1 month after your comment like this, but there's no person in Japan, who does not know Mario :) After all, Mario is probably the most familiar gaming icon in the world. Kirby is pretty unknown.

@XVarp actually when i was in camp when i was 6 there was a kid who did not know mario or luigi or kirby for that matter he MIGHT have known pokemon... im not sure im not sure about kirby either but i do agree

Well, obviously he/she was not a gamer. I don't even count that age for being in the "gaming zone", despite the fact that I started gaming at the age of 4 and knew mario well at the age of 6. But speaking of Japan I'm pretty sure, that every kid in the block at age of 2 or more knows Mario, as they have Nintendo commercials airing on TV every 15 minutes.

And for Kirby being unknown I just thought about the fact, that I hadn't heard of Kirby before Smash Bros.

@SwordKirby500 if they even MAKE a Kirby game for wii.. which They Better! no Nintendo Console is complete without at least one Kirby adventure... one reason my Gamecube and Wii library seems incomplete. I Love Kirby Air Ride and all(GCN), but It's too far out of the Kirby Formula for me to consider it a full on Kirby game. (no flaming, It's just my opinion, nothing to get bent out of shape about)
