I love the mansion so much but I was disappointed at how dark the lights are now :( I could barely see the ghosts.. went on this twice in a row by myself XD

I m sure I am in the minority on this 1, but I don't like the new version of Grim Grinning Ghosts... I went 2 Disney World 4 the first time in 95 (I think it was 1995), and there was a different version of said song then, it was slower and not as "cartoony" sounding.... When I went the next time in 1998, they had the current version...

I rode twice with my mom and my little cousin-they made it a little bit darker,I was still freaked out.Although,um,the intro was a bit off-didn't Master Gracy jumped and hanged himself?

OH snap.. this is the re-opening of the haunted mansion attraction in WDW in Orlando after The ride went through a process of refurbishing and refreshing to make it a little more kinda scary with better animation since it was kinda stone age before.

Not even close, the old story was about the groom finding the tailors arms around his wife, and he killed the tailor. The new one is about the wife killing all her previous husbands for their money.

i think fat21s is thinking of Phantom Manor, the french one at Euro Disney, which, imo is a superior story. Girl meets Boy, they get engaged, a phantom arrives on the wedding night, kills the groom, spends the rest of the brides life and afterlife tormenting her and bringing ghosts into the house from hell.

@TheRandyChimp No, the french one is similar to Phantom of The Opera. Guy loves girl, father of girl hates him, on the wedding night, a phantom( might be father, not sure) hangs the groom and the bride wonders aimlessly for life and afterlife looking for her missing husband

it was a person holding a hat box when his head vanished and appeared in the box but it was removed from the attic because the illusion didn't work to well

i was so mad we didn't get to ride this. we were going to magic kingdom on new year's eve, but the park was so full, they couldn't let anyone else in. that was our last day at disney. we had to go to downtown disney again.

The altering gallery is added after the loading area where the sinister 11 were (the sinister 11 are seen now where you get in the doombuggy) surround sound in the stretching gallery, a new scene in the grand stairway replacing the spiders and webs, Madame Leota floats like in Disneyland's mansion, Constance haunts the attic and the wedding march added to the attic scene

Thank you SO much for posting this! The changes look similar to those here at DLR, but I'll be at WDW in three weeks and can't wait to see this for myself (when I was at WDW in June it was closed). We have our Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay right now, and I almost want to say that I love it even more. This is my favorite time of year to be a Cast Member. Doombuggies Rules!

One of the COOLEST and understated changes is the audio. Especially in the stretch room, that first room with the stretching pictures. Before the refurbishment there were 6 channels of audio. The rumor is now there's 128 channels. The voice floats around EVERYWHERE. And there's now bass, so the thunder and the crash shakes the entire body, it's incredible!
