Wow your plush turned out awesome! I'd like to make my own plushies but I can never find a flesh tone fabric anywhere. Where do you get your fabric from? Do you make all your own patterns. I've seen a few handmade plushies before but the head on yours looks way better. It's more round and natural... I was amazed! Very nice!
@SailorSamara Thanks! I bought this craft velour from DollMakersJourney [dot] com - they have a lot of great fabric options & their customer service was really good! My body pattern is derived from one that AshFantastic on DA let me use (I've modified it a half dozen times since '07) & the head pattern I use is based on a Sailor Saturn plush (I just sort of inferred the pattern by measuring and looking at it). I hope that helps! In my DA Tutorials folder there's an old pattern. :D
Awesome video Sakky ^_^ My poor lil Sailor Cael has been lying unfinished for months now cause I hated how some parts turned out, but watching this has urged me to start again and finish her this time. I would never have thought of glueing on lil bits that are too hard to sew XDD is it just super glue you use or a specific fabric glue?
@KaiyaAyame Thanks! I hope you keep working on it! The glue I use is Beacon 527. I call it "epoxy" but I don't know if that's technically accurate. It dries fairly clear (it can yellow a bit) and it's very stiff and strong when dry. I use it a lot, it's my favorite glue.
She turned out adorable! I love you method for the eyes. Thank you for sharing! :)
